"Bride of the Western Dawn" is a historical western romance novel of approximately 80,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Lorelei Brogan was born and raised in Idaho where she currently lives with her husband.
While sitting in her graduate school apartment, studying Rock science, Lorelei decided to set aside her notes and try her hand at romance.
At the same time, she used to write articles for a local newspaper under a pseudonym, and this made her wonder if she could write something besides news -- about something she really loved. At the age of 40 she managed to make her dream come true.
She has a great family and 4 sons that she adores. She is extremely proud of them, and so are they. They really admire her work, and support her in every step of her life. Her oldest son, who deeply loves her, says Lorelei’s novels make him travel to a different world.
In her spare time, she loves cooking and volunteering at her local elderly care home. She also adores traveling with her husband. Their dream is to travel all over the world, with Asia being at the top of her “bucket list”.
Everyone wants to tell Ellie what to do and expects her to comply. But Ellie just wants to run her own life! She is sent off to marry a man she doesn't know out West. He's a wealthy rancher, and she has low expectations as to his character. However, Jesse is not a bad man, but he is a damaged soul. He needs to marry in order to inherit the ranch according to his father's wishes. It is a business arrangement only. Or is it? Great story, this is one that warrants reading again in a few months.
Excellent book but the extended epilogue had to be written by someone who hadn’t read the book. The ranch was in Oregon but EE states Utah. EE say Daisy married a doctor, what happened to Ben? EE mentions Anne yet shouldn’t it be Anna?? There’s no mention of how the ranch or how Anna, Daisy and Ellie’s business did. Next time find someone who has actually read the book to write the extended epilogue.
I found the book enjoyed realistic character development as well as scene depiction. The setting in the Western genre for this novel to naturally unravel created a great read. The characters were realistic with real goals and foundations with proper English. A great read! Thank-you!!
Interesting story with many twists and turns. Clashing of strong personalities keeps family on their toes. Epilogue? Has them in Utah not Oregon where story is about. Mother of bride is a different name in Epilogue than story. Second half has them living in Oregon. ????
I enjoyed this story a lot, though her aunt really bugged me. I was happy with the ending until I decided to get the extended ending... Boy was that strange it was like reading a whole different storyline. What were they doing in Utah? Way off for me.
Fathers made the match; slowly they began to like each other and then their dads history came into play and created danger and mystery! Entertaining plot- good clen story.
Why was Ellie being sent from Boston by train to Oregon to marry Jessie, whom she does know?! This novel has many twists and turns but keeps one engaged. Very enjoyable mystery!
This historical western story of how a young couple ended up together, with their parents arranging their wedding and then the mystery and intrigue that took place afterwards. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
I enjoyed this story from the beginning. It has adventure, mystery and a sweet love story. The characters were well described and believable. I found the extended epilogue a little confusing, but all in all it was a good story.
