"I wish someone had given me this book when I first became a believer forty years ago." -- T.K.

Many new believers and longtime churchgoers are accustomed to being fed the Bible in small pre-chewed servings as if they are baby birds, not having learned how to feed themselves on God’s Word. "Feed Youself: Learning to Feast on the Riches of God’s Word" is designed as a six-to-eight-week journey toward developing the life-nurturing habits of reading, memorizing, meditating on and praying the Bible. In addition, readers will develop a grasp of the overarching story of the Bible to help them never feel lost in it, understand the differences between the various English translations, and have a familiarity with how to use different Bible study tools such as cross references, concordances and commentaries. "Feed Yourself" is suitable for individuals, couples, families or in a small group or classroom setting, with each chapter ending with a list of discussion questions, assignments and prompts for memorization and prayer. Not a scholarly tome, Feed Yourself is a meat-and-potatoes or tech school approach to Scripture that will help any believer begin feasting on the meat of Gof's Word for themselves and equip them to help others do the same.

Praise for Feed Learning to Feast on the Riches of God's Word:

"Conversational. Practical. Biblical. D.H. Benson has contributed something helpful to believers, all of whom are called to be 'self-feeders.' Feed Learning to Feast on the Riches of God's Word will prove to be useful to Christians as they seek to find spiritual nourishment through meaningful engagement with the life-giving Word of God. Allow D.H. Benson to be your tour guide into the Scriptures." — Rev. Brian Dainsberg, lead pastor Alliance Bible Church, Mequon, Wis.

"I wish someone had given me this book when I first became a believer forty years ago. D.H. Benson’s book, Feed Yourself, is loaded with practical, simple disciplines for learning and knowing God’s Word. The format and style make the content accessible. Each chapter ends with thoughtful questions and Scripture memorization guides. His rightful argument is that deeply knowing God’s Word is a supreme benefit to us and others. There is gold in the Scripture citations to support the argument. The personal stories and experiences richly illustrate application in action." —Tom Kopp, social worker and counselor

"Feed Yourself instilled in me a hunger surpassing my usual daily Bible reading. When it comes out in print, I am going to purchase copies for my Community Group so we can feast together! The processed foods of religion cannot compare with the all-natural, homemade sustenance that is every word that comes from the mouth of God." — Mark Voll, retired senior pastor, Village Bible Church, Bella Vista, Ark.

"D.H. Benson's skills as a writer make Feed Yourself a wonderfully easy read. His love of the Bible makes it an enriching read. But it is his experience caring for and discipling people with the Scriptures that make it a powerful read. Highly recommended." —Jim Bohn, Ph.D., author of If Your Watercooler Could Talk

For 40-plus years, D.H. Benson has been a working newspaper journalist, winning awards at the local, state and national level as a reporter and editor. He has also been a student of the Bible ever since coming to know Jesus as his savior in college. Early on with the help of dedicated friends he learned the habits of daily reading and memorization of Scripture, of meditating on and praying Scripture and studying it. In the years since, he has worked to help others engage with the Bible in private reading and study and in small groups. His work has culminated in his writing "Feed Yourself: Learning to Feast on the Riches of God's Word," which is designed to help new believers and others not comfortable in God's Word to develop those habits and learn the story the Bible is telling. It is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle format.
