Sean is being held for questioning at the police station while Scarlet and Janice fear for their lives. Ryan is their sole protector because Cortland is kept in the dark about the situation. Scarlet doesn’t want him to know the truth so she can spare him. When they travel to New York, things go from bad to worse. It becomes clear that Sean doesn’t have a good chance of evading prosecution, Sean’s mom seems to dislike Scarlet more than she did before, and Scarlet has to fearfully look over her shoulder every moment. As is common in the Forever and Always series, family bands together and relationships are repaired. Mike proves he isn’t what he seemed, and Janice’s family meet Ryan for the first time. When Scarlet feels helpless, unable to stop the devastating events of their lives, she’s left with a choice. It’s the only option she has but she has to take it. If not, she may lose everything.

The twists and turns do not stop for Scarlett and Sean. With Sean in jail the crew Scarlet, Ryan and Janice run off to New York to help despite that chance that her old boss may be after her. Cortland is kept in the dark as to why they are leaving due to his girlfriend's mother's death. Scarlet feels he needs to stay behind to comfort her rather than off in NY to help Scarlet.
Things are worse than expected when a gunman breaks into Mike's apartment. I find it a little extreme that a pervert boss that was thrown in jail for it is plotting murder. Sean is in jail for roughing him up, and he is destroying Scarlet's happily ever after should be enough. I guess it could happen because there are crazy people out there, but that part of the story seems like there should be something more behind it. Maybe it will be revealed later on.
Sean's mother absolutely blows my mind. The comments and distaste for Scarlet grows despite all the previous year's of treating her like a daughter. It just blows my mind. I am glad that Sean finally comes clean with his mom about Penelope, but this is something he should have done from the start. If you intend on spending the rest of your life with Scarlet then who cares what happens to Penelope. His first priority should be his family and the mistreatment could have been easily resolved with the truth.
I'm still waiting for Ryan to find out about Janice and Sean as his feelings continue to grow for her. When the truth is revealed I think it will blow apart their happy little family.
Sorry if this review is a little vague, I actually read the book awhile ago and tried writing the review 4 times, but goodreads kept crashing so I said I would do it later and forgot. I noticed it in my to read list the other day and am trying to remember every detail and emotion which is sometimes difficult in my fast paced life. :-)
I can't wait to see what happens next. The character development is amazing! This book did have a few errors but I was easily able to look over them, but if your OCD about those things it may drive you a little bonkers. I can't wait to see what happens next.... Vegas is going to be crazy with this crew.
Well him being dragged off by the police at the end of the last book, we just pick up right where we left off!
So Scarlet, Ryan and Janice head back to New York where Sean is being held. They knew that Scarlet's old boss Carl was behind everything, not appreciating how influential he was, that they were all under threat! Carl had done his homework.
Poor Scarlet was still being given a hard time by Sean's mom, what a nasty lady she is, how can someone be so hurtful !
I am pleased that Scarlet and Mike made up, they become good friends after everything they went through whilst Sean was incarcerated. I loved how selfless Scarlet is, always thinking about others not once thinking about herself in any process!
It took a lot of guts for her to visit Carl, but it worked!
She handled everything brilliantly, helping her fiance and his brother mend their broken fences, got her future mother in law to finally accept that she had been wrong and even managed to get Sean to make friends with Cortland. It was a bit sad that we didn't get too much of him this time round! hopefully we get a bit more in the next book!
I had some laughs, tears and sitting on the edge of my seat with this one, but so happy with the outcome. Going to get right on with the next installment!
I have to say, the story of Seana and Skylar just keeps getting better and better. You begin to ask yourself, "Are they ever going to have their happily ever after?" Well, I hope so....
E.L. Todd has the ability to bring her characters to life and grab her reads attention. She doesn't leave us waiting for more, she delivers. My only recommendation is that the novel needs to be edited more closely before publishing. When there are errors in grammar and never name(s) of characters, it tends to take away from the novel. Other than that, the story of Sean and Skylar is one that you shouldn't miss.
Wow, I am loving this series of books and enjoying the rollercoaster that is the life of Sean and Scarlet and family. They are really intense together and a real whirlwind to be around. Sean does seem to have some double standard issues regarding Scarlet and Cortland though, he's being very unfair to Cortland and needs to get over it. Still a great read though and looking forward to the next book.
Not really sure why I am still going with this. I think overall the author had a good idea for a story but it was not executed very well. There are a ton on errors in wording and spelling that are getting to be a bit frustrating. I am a sucker though and have made it this far so I will see it through to the end.
The continuation of Sean and Scarlett's romance. Sean is arrested and Scarlet and her family are in danger, but there is some redemption and issues solved for Mike and Scarlet. Ryan calls his sister the relationship whisperer. I think he is right. Now looking for the happy ever after.
i am just really happy that sean & his brother got to work everything out, and everything bad that's ever happened is finally in the past. this was a pretty good book, and i quite enjoyed it.
