This was a very interesting book and I really enjoyed the story line. The characters were very interesting and I really wanted to keep reading it to find out what happens. I had a rough time putting it down. This would have easily been a 5 star book except for the ending. I realize it is listed as book one in a series, but it was a very abrupt ending. You're reading about the group going to meet someone, then you read about Kayla observing training and then boom the end. I get that it's the beginning of the series, but with plenty of loose ends to tie up, the ending could have given a bit more.

I am upset because this book has no proper ending at all. There's no segue to the second book .You know what there's no ending whatsoever. There's no way of figuring out will there be a second book. It just stops. Mind you I read the revised book so she went back & edited it but she didn't add a proper ending to it. I'm a little disappointed because it was turning into a good read.

I hate hating writing bad reviews but this ruined my enjoyment of what was a good afternoon read.

And as always Happy Reading! 💕😊

A very interesting theme I haven't read about in the past. Mixes literally everything supernatural in one story - the only things missing were shapeshifters and vampires. Altough the story was not finished within the book I liked reading it.

I really enjoyed this book, I am very much in lust with Dreamer. I lost myself in the story, there was a lot going on which kept my interest.

Highly enjoyable, am hoping for a book two

Unique, inventive, and totally original.

Storm Queen is the story of a woman tossed in a world of fantasy and magic after living in reality for the whole of her life. We are given hints throughout the story that tell us that Kayla was unique from a very young age. She was meant to be queen and Marissa does a great job showing this to the reader. There were moments at the beginning that I thought it was all happening and accepted to quick. However, Kayla's personality sort of dismissed this concern.

A very powerful story about prejudices and it is laid out very nicely in this totally original paranormal romance story. I could totally jive with each character. A lot of times you get the men acting to 'emotional' in books. Men just aren't bleeding hearts, especially alpha enforcers. So it was nice to see men acting like men. I was totally satisfied with the intimacy story line! I wasn't happy with Shadow Mother however. My loathing for her runs along the lines of how much I hated Catelyn Stark in the Game of Thrones lol!

This was a great new addition to the paranormal romance world, it almost had a Urban Fantasy feel because the sex wasn't the main focus of the story and I LOVED that! I thought each scene was done so well! I will be continuing this series! I can't wait for the next one!

Very well written. I had a couple issues with the way things were supposedly done between Stormkins but I guess that's normal in any introduction to a new "culture". I also didn't exactly understood speaking of Darkness in the premise as if he was this hugely important man in Kayla's life when he appears only briefly. Kind of misleading of his role in this book. Nevertheless I liked him. Of course my heart goes to Nightmare and Dreamer much more.
I also found the premise misleading in terms of general plot. In my view of things this book could've been a part of a more extended story. I don't really understand its use in the broad scheme of things. It feels like this book was complete with the double of pages and then the author decided to break it in half and only allowed us to read the first half. I reckon some kind of objective should have been established in the beginning and made it happen or not for the ending. This way it just feels unfinished.

Edited:

I also have to say that for a book with three men in the cover in a sexual embrace with a woman, there was very little sex in this book. If that is the main reason you want to read this...
