Dalia Davies fell into monster romance--almost by accident--and loves it here. She drinks her weight in tea every day and has been told on numerous occasions that she “knows too much”.
She pairs old gods, monsters, and aliens with human women who get exactly what they want and maybe a little more than they came for.
Brought up on fairytales read while hiding in the back stacks of her small-town library and sneaking in creature features at friends' homes, she always wanted a way to meld two fantasies into one. When not writing, she plays the banjo poorly, dreams of traveling the world, and avoids large crowds and loud noises.
Living in the southwestern US, she lets the outside heat permeate her stories and hopes they leave you panting.

This is, of course, a pen name. It is one of many I write under. You can find my other works as:

The sweet-ish kittens finally get their HEA.
Minx and Calico have been such a fun addition to these stories and I loved that they got a happy ending. However, I felt like I didn’t get to know Lako at all in this book beyond her sexy time antics. She pops up in the previous books a bit more so we get to know some of her tendencies, such as an overwhelming curiosity. In this book we also see that she’s a bit of a champion of women, in a selfish god sort of way. I loved that this was a polyam sapphic romance because there are never enough of those in monster romance.

Spice: 4.5/5

Triggers: torture (off page), temporary eating of human by god, mention of financial abuse/theft, mention of death, mind control, abduction (not of MCs)

I am still chasing the enjoyment from the first book in this series, but I fear it might have been a one-off.

I was excited for this polyam couple as we met Minx and Calico before and I was curious about their past.
This novella might be 100 pages but the main characters don't do anything. We get some very vague references to their pasts (I do not understand why Minx doesn't get Calico's references when the latter has only been in service 3 years longer than her), and we get another godly ultimatum that goes nowhere. They both talk around the fact that devotion to Lako has not always been easy and that they work for her - but that's not relevant to the story. They both struggle with the fact that Lako won't or can't release them from their bargains without casting them out - but that's not plot relevant. Gren, Lako's parent, forces their hands by giving them final notice - but they don't do anything with that.

And yeah, they have sexual chemistry; however, it's devoid of any emotional attachment despite them being together for over 10 years. Where is that love they are doing all this for?

I'm torn on my rating. It wasn't a bad read by any means, but it wasn't super memorable. It feels like something is missing. There's a way Dalia writes this series that makes it unique and special that was missing with this book.

I left the story not knowing a ton about Lako, and the longstanding relationship she has with Minx and Calico. I felt Minx and Calico's connection to each other, but I didn't get theirs with Lako. It felt like it was only in the bedroom that the three of them connected. Also, I wish we had an epilogue to show us how things have changed now that they're together forever. It felt like the story ended abruptly.

I really wanted to know more about lako and the kittens! I was really looking forward to this one but it seemed... short. and i felt like we never really got to know Lako at all. and I still feel like the kittens are mostly a mystery! I want to know what brought them both to lako in the first place, how they fell in love with each other, how they always seem to know what's going on and are always guiding our other characters! I feel like while this was a cute read, it didn't really answer any of my questions and I ended up feeling unsatisfied...

Nice Kitty

I have found these books very entertaining. While the spicy scenes haven’t always been my thing, I’ve enjoyed the surrounding story enough to make up for it.

This one was sweet and it was nice to finally get to know Calico and Minx as their own people and personalities. I’ve enjoyed them as side characters, but I’m just glad they got to have a voice.

Yeay!!!!

Finally, a story for Calico and Minx!

I appreciated their artwork.
I still wanted more backstory as to where/when they came from and what led them to Lako.

This was like a love letter to your favourite, has-a-mind-of-its-own-cat. The smut was good.

Loved this but still want more from Calico+Minx 😁.

Loved the story just felt like it was missing something. I loved how calico and minx finally got there own story though, and was glad the Yule cat got her happy ending. I'm excited for the next edition to this series. All in all I give it a 3.5 stars 😊

Good, but missing something.

The story was good. But compared to the previous books in the series, I felt this one was lacking that umph.
