Eons have passed measured only by the footfalls of the Great Titans of Lum'rathren. The song of change is to be sung again and again unending. All shall hear the trembling howl, the call, the echoes of fights both ancient and fast approaching.
Axle finds himself in a rock after an odd thunderstorm. After discovering what happens to dungeon cores on Anoris, Axle decides it's time to pack up shop and hit the road. It's a big old world out there for a dungeon core, and moving is the best way to stay ahead of the subjugators.
Adventures and travels to new and exciting places have been Eric's soul's solace throughout his life. After an odd thunderstorm at Heaven's Gate, Eric is about to travel further than he could have ever imagined and begin an adventure that will alter the multiverse.
All right, want to know more, folks? This is a story I've been kicking around in my head for quite some time now. It's actually a merger of four different book ideas I had. I wanted to write a dungeon core book and cultivation story, so this follows two characters. Really, it's two different books, but they happen parallel on the same planet in the same universe at the same time and just on different continents for now. Axle has been changed into a dungeon core, and Eric has been transmigrated into his parallel body on the planet of Lum'rathren.
Still more. The world is inspired by classical Xianxia, Qi being the primary energy. I also wanted to try and make a truly multicultural cultivation experience; when I have read cultivation, I often wondered how an English noble might cultivate, or an ancient pharaoh, etc., alongside the classical Daoist-inspired examples. I also enjoy dungeon core novels and wanted to author a story from both the dungeon's perspective and a normal cultivator's, getting to see the differences between the two.
really needs to be edited, better descriptions, less stereotyping
1. This book really needs to be edited. The main issue is probably from using voice to text - pour instead of poor, wondering instead of wandering, stocked instead of stalked. There were also a few cases of sentence, variation of sentence, another variation of sentence all one after another. 2. Don’t describe someone as a beautiful woman without mentioning cat ears only to suddenly call her a cat girl. There were other cases where more description of a person is deserved - show not tell, build up the character’s personality through the description rather than narrative statements. 3. Really weird to hear people describe as white, middle eastern, and Asian. I’d thought progressive fantasy had moved past that. You don’t need to describe women as hot and the MC as naturally being attracted either.
Otherwise, the description of cultivation processes is pretty good, there’s some experimentation with narratives within narratives, etc.
For me the writing felt clunky and just slightly off. So did the characters, especially the dungeon core. I was also just bored. I think the writing was of a tell not show style of writing and I was tired of it by chapter six. I gave up not long after. I just never found that hook that should draw you into a story. This wasn't for me at all. Remember that this is only my opinion and you may very well enjoy this book. If you do then you can find more over on Royalroad.
This is an installment not a stand alone. It’s fun, well paced and interesting start. It does need editing as there are mistakes shutter instead of shudder, plan for plain, week for weak, etc. still a good read. One guy reincarnates into a dungeon, finds a way to travel and goes traveling. Another reincarnates into his alternate universe self and starts on the path to super power cultivation. And that’s it. That’s what happens this installment, no subplot resolution with the book Enjoy
The story is a little slow to start but then takes off. It has an approach to the classic story then twists and turns, turning it into different. Looking forward to the next book and how the two stories intersect.
This is a multi isekai cultivation book. Not a bad read, but not much of a page turner either. If your looking for a short not to exciting book, here you go.
Though I don’t know what the whole premise of story is I enjoyed it and will read the next one. It was like the story was telling two different lives, but didn’t connect them in the book.
