This was a cute short story that I think could have been great if it had been longer. The story was fun but felt very rushed and we didn’t get too much time to know the characters. But if you’re a fan of this author then it’s definitely worth it for this fun, quick read.

This is the very first Rye Cox book I've read and it definitely won't be the last.
Peter has had a crush on Henry forever but Henry left town. Now he's back and Peter still has deep feelings for him. But Henry has a little something extra with him - his baby son. Will he be prepared to open his heart to Peter or will Peter have to accept the closed door and try to move on.
The story is sweet, heartbreaking, soul-searching, and downright addictive. Only a short story it can be read over a cup of coffee (albeit a large one with a decadent piece cake thrown in to give one an excuse to draw it out)

Two friends find themselves back in their home town.
Peter has always loved Henry but never told him before he left for college.

Now Peter works at the B&Bz owned by Henry's parents.
Henry has returned home with a child, Levi, ...but no wife or girlfriend...so this was Peter's chance to make sure he doesn't leave again!

I always wondered how Levi’s parents got together. A childhood crush on Peter’s side evolved to love that lasted even though Henry left town. I loved that moment when Henry’s eyes were opened to his own feelings towards Peter. Henry and Peter were destined to be together. They became the family they were always meant to be.

2.5 Stars ⭐️ A short & cute little prequel bonus about how Levi’s dads got together. Although Henry did feel like basically the same character as Andy.
