Fresh out of a messy breakup, omega fox shifter, Foxx, needs a job. His ex/former business partner has spread many lies about him around town and to his former clients, so he heads to Saramto in desperation. He doesn’t expect his smartphone to send him into the wrong building of Shifter Towers for his interview at a coding school, to get stuck in an elevator with a hulky bear shifter, or for his heat to start in the middle of it all.
In between clients, personal trainer, and alpha bear shifter, Slade, heads up to his lawyer’s office to sign the paperwork for the house he just bought. He’s hoping this next life stage will get his parents to ease up on their constant pleading for him to settle down. He has no need for a mate. So, he doesn’t expect to come face-to-face with the fox shifter who his bear claims is his fated mate, or to be trapped in an elevator with the young man during the beginning of his heat.
Fox Trapped is the seventh book in Jessica E. Subject’s sweet with knotty heat Shifter Towers series. Fox Trapped is a MM mpreg shifter romance that features a fox shifter trying to start over after the end of his marriage to a despicable non-shifter, a bear shifter not looking to settle down no matter how many times his parents encourage him to, multiple tech snafus, and fate stepping in to bring these two together. If you like fated mates, elevator coitus, instant pregnancy, and the sweetest alpha ever, Fox Trapped is the book for you. While each book in the Shifter Towers series is set in the same world, they can each be read as standalones.
Jessica E. Subject is a USA Today bestselling author of science fiction and paranormal romances, bringing to life a wide variety of characters. This was a quick read about fate trapping these two in an elevator right as Foxx's heat is starting. Yes, his name is actually Foxx and he's a fox shifter. There's fox shifter discrimination in this one, different and not fully explained. Foxx had spent his whole life being shunned by other shifters basically because he was a fox, so when he found a human Alpha that was interested in him, he had some blinders on. His ex-husband was a slimy PITA that ruined everything that Foxx had built up with his talent and expertise. Foxx is headed to a job interview that he's desperate to get so he can start over, move out of his parents’ house and get away from his ex. In his rush to get away from the judgmental shifters around him, he ended up in the wrong elevator tower going up with Slade. Slade is a physical trainer, as far as I can gather because they didn't talk about it much, and is on his way up to the lawyer’s office to sign paperwork on the house he just bought. Talk about good timing on the house there Alpha! The elevator stops mid-climb and these two give into their lusty connection, it seems like more but they're both unsure. Foxx, being the emotionally broken Omega he currently is, ignores Slade for months then finds out he's pregnant. Whoops! Foxx is scared of everyone and doesn't truly trust others after his ex screwed him over royally so he struggles to trust that Slade really wants him and to mate him. They have a lot to work through and they move slowly into being together fully.
I was a little annoyed that they never shifted in this, at all!
This story pulled me in from the start. Foxx and Slade were very interesting to read about and I was happy to see them get the happily ever after they both deserved.
This is a quick read set in an established world but seems to be able to be read as a standalone. I didn’t really understand why there was so much prejudice over fox shifters, so maybe that’s explained in previous books.
I liked the premise of how Slade and Foxx are meet but how they create their child is clunky. I can appreciate the pacing throughout during the get to know you phase, which was what Foxx needed after his last relationship. Why is it that the omega dad is always super pushy and nosy though?
The drama at the end was OTT.

Fox Trapped is a standalone omegaverse/m-preg MM romance by Jessica E. Subject. Subject is an author I've enjoyed in the past and I was definitely in the mood for some MM shifters.
I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this book as we got to meet fox shifter and omega, Foxx, and bear shifter and alpha, Slade. Foxx has decided to move to the city. Being a fox shifter isn't easy, many old fashioned type people do not like fox shifter, where there are so many times that even the reader is shown Foxx being shunned just because of how he was born. It's on his way to a big shifter consortium for a job interview with a school that teaches computer coding that he is stuck in an elevator with Slade.
While there is an element of fated mates, and certainly some instalove on Slade's behalf, Foxx has been traumatised by how so many other shifters and humans have treated him in the past. Slade can't stop thinking about the omega from the elevator and when they are brought together again, Slade is determined to woo and win Foxx. Slade is understanding to Foxx's emotions, although he doesn't go full bossy alpha on his mate. For this reason it is really satisfying to read this couple's story.

This book is part of the multi-author Love Sync Mates series. Each book is a standalone. I am fairly new to this author so I wasn't sure what to expect. This is the story of Foxx and Slade. Foxx is an omega fox shifter who is trying to rebuild his life after his ex/former partner destroyed it. Foxx had to move cities just to try and get a job and away from the toxicity of his ex. Slade is an alpha bear shifter whose parents are nagging him to settle down and find his fated mate. The two meet in an elevator while Foxx is on the way to a job interview. They end up trapped in the elevator and Foxx unexpectedly goes into heat. Slade knows that Foxx is his fated mate. Foxx is so broken and beat down that he doesn't recognize it. When they meet again, Slade is determined to show Foxx that he wants Foxx for himself and not just because fate said so. He sets out to woo Foxx. This is their story. It is a sweet story. The book is written well and easy to read. My only hitch with this book is Foxx's ex. We never learn why he was so vindictive. And I thought the hospital scene OTT. But overall I enjoyed my read. Looking forward to more books by this author.

Out of the ashes, nice! Foxx, spent his life being shunned and looked down on for being a fox shifter. He has social avoidance down to an art form. He was bamboozled by his ex, Reed, depleted of all his assets and blackballed. He moved to a new town and was on his way to a job interview, when he got stuck in an elevator. Slade, spent his life dodging his parents' demand for more grand children. He was on his way to sign papers with his lawyer, when he got stuck in an elevator. Slade realized Foxx was going in to heat, and he smelled delicious! This is a fun story that flows like a quest for each man to work through to their happy ending. Meet cute, lost, found, unexpected baggage, new beginnings, making new friends, can we make it work? Facing the big questions and challenges all at once run Foxx and Slade through a fun life cycle. This author does an excellent job bringing us with Foxx and Slade during their adventures and get the reader rooting for them. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
“I wanted to take care of you from the moment I met you.”
I really enjoyed this book. It was a sweet, quick read. A malfunctioning elevator is the catalyst to what starts their relationship- among other things. Foxx and Slade were cute together, and their chemistry sizzled. Foxx has been hurt by his ex and fears being hurt again, but I liked how the two of them discussed things- how Slade was patient and spoke what he was feeling, but left the choice to Foxx as to what he was comfortable with and wanted.
'I gulped, a new fear filling me. Is this a dream? It had to be a dream. Good things never happened to me. And if they did, they were followed by several bad things. But I would be dumb to turn down the very thing I wanted. Because I had felt the same connection.'
Reed- Foxx's ex- was horrible and his reemergence was unsatisfying as it really amounted to nothing and he had no comeuppance for anything he'd done. I always love that part of these stories and I'm disappointed I didn't get it.
Foxx had to go to another town to look for work because his ex and business partner took everything he had plus told lies about him. He got on an elevator to go to his interview but didn’t realize he was at the wrong tower, Slade got on then they got stuck the elevator quit. Slade called his boss and told him what happened and Foxx called his boss to be also. Foxx got a problem which Slade took care of he also gave Foxx his phone number but he ghosted Slade. Two months later found out he was pregnant thought about putting the baby up for adoption, he didn’t have the money and space. Slade ran into Foxx’s boss who told him that one of her teachers was pregnant she saw the test in the trash. Foxx left the doctor and Slade saw the bag he was carrying and they talked then agreed to get together. Good book!.

In the shifter world, being a fox isn't easy. Other shifters avoid, say snide remarks to them or don't let their children around them. Foxx was dumped by his ex human husband and he ruined Foxx's reputation. Applying for a job in another city, Foxx is nervous and scared about getting it. Getting stuck on an elevator with a gorgeous alpha only added to his stress. Going in heat in the elevator isn't planned either. But being together is perfect for both. Slade, the alpha, knows from the first whiff of the delicious omega, that he is something special, his fated mate. Finding out that Foxx is pregnant is wonderful news.
I really enjoyed reading about Foxx and Slade and their adorable baby Mathias! Finding his one special mate, being loved like he is the most important person in the world is such a wonderful feeling. The writer did an excellent job in showing us how special Foxx and Slade are.

Foxx is an omega fox shifter who is having to start his life over after his ex dumped him and stole his business. He spread lies about Foxx to all his former clients. He moves to a new town and gets a job interview. Very nervous, he gets on what he thinks is the elevator to his job interview. Right before the elevator door closes, an alpha bear shifter named Slade runs in. On their ride up, the elevator gets stuck. Foxx starts to panic and Slade helps calm him down. Foxx suddenly goes into heat and Slade is able to help him through it before they are rescued. Slade wants to go out with Foxx but Foxx is so embarassed that he deliberately gives Slade the wrong phone number. He regrets it a few weeks later when he learns that he is pregnant from the elevator encounter. Luckily Slade is willing to forgive him and be there for him.

I'm loving this new multi-authored series called Love Sync Mates. This is the 5th book I've read in this series and it's by a new to me author, Jessica E. Subject. This book is also listed as book #7 in the Shifter Towers series (I need to check this series out since I loved this story). When I saw another book in the Love Sync Mates series pop up on Booksprout I just had to get it to read and review.
Both of these characters are so sweet and amazing together. Foxx, the omega fox shifter, desperately trying to find a job after his ex has been bad mouthing him to all prospective employers. Slade, the sweet alpha bear shifter, being hassled by his parents to find a mate. These two have quite the 'meet cute' in an elevator.
I really enjoyed this story of Slade, who is a bear shifter who meets his fated mate, Fox in an elevator. Foxx doesn’t realise that he’s going into heat, but he is on his way to a job, interview and In his rush to get to shifter tower, he doesn’t pay attention to which elevator he should enter. After having a terrible divorce, where he’s ex-husband had taken him for everything he had, Foxx had trouble trusting anybody, but when he met Slade, he felt comfortable and safe with him. Two months later, he discovers that he is pregnant and dreads having to raise the baby on his own. I absolutely loved this story and how Slade was able to convince Foxx that he was needed and wanted and his fated mate. There is a happy ending for both of the shifters and a lovely baby at the end.

Foxx is aptly named being a fox shifter and he is an omega. Slade is an alpha bear shifter. I love how Slade does not care that Foxx is a fox shifter like most snooty other shifters. He wants him no matter what. Both characters are super sweet and loving with Foxx being a bit shy due to how his ex-husband treated him. But Slade will not be deterred in convincing the sweet little fox to give him a chance, because he knows they will be together forever. This book is "related" to the Shifter Towers series by Jessica and brings up a character or two you may have read about in that series. I will say though, I would have loved the ex-husband to be dealt with in more detail because he deserved it!

Foxx, a recently single omega fox shifter, faces a tough job search due to lies spread by his ex-partner. A tech glitch leads him to the wrong interview in Shifter Towers, where he gets stuck in an elevator with Slade, an alpha bear shifter. Slade is caught off guard by the fox shifter his bear claims as his mate. Trapped together during Foxx's heat, their connection deepens. Sweet and steamy MM mpreg shifter romance, featuring a fox shifter rebuilding after a toxic marriage and a commitment-phobic bear shifter. Fate intervenes, weaving a tale of fated mates, elevator encounters, pregnancy, meddling parents, the challenges of fated mates, and more.
Other than that outright nastiness of the ex towards the end, this was oh so sweet. I absolutely love fated mates and forced proximity and this had it and more. I had so many feels for Foxx...he was a tragic character and I just wanted to give him all the hugs....so glad he had an alpha like Slade...a big gentle teddy bear. I will say the only thing I wished for would have been to see the shifter side of the mates...that would have been cool but I still loved this wonderful romance.

I very much enjoyed this romantic mpreg book. It is an easy-to-read story. The main characters are Foxx, an omega fox shifter, and Slade, an alpha bear shifter. This is a well written story with believable characters and plot scenes. Some of the interesting elements: *Encountering shifters who are bigoted against fox shifters. *Emotionally abusive ex-husband. *Fated mates connection. *Surprise pregnancy. *Full pregnancy and natural birth. *Chest nursing.
This was an engaging quick read, that has encouraged me to seek out other books by the author Jessica E. Subject
DNF @76% ... I picked this up last week because I wanted something low-stakes and easy to carry me over while I waited for some new releases I've been anticipating to finally drop. On the plus side, it was definitely low-stakes and easy to read. But on the "meh" side, I got bored and kept forgetting it was on my Kindle. Just saw it sitting there again and realized I have zero interest in finishing, so I'm gonna chuck it back at KU and mark this as another new-to-me author I probably won't revisit.
I loved Fox Trapped by Jessica E. Subject. I loved Slade and Foxx's story. I loved how they met and how Slade didn't care that Foxx was a fox shifter, and neither did the rest of his family when they finally met him. I liked how they took the rest of their relationship slow and got to know each other. I loved how Slade took care of Foxx's ex when he showed up after Foxx had his baby. I loved that Slade didn't believe any of his lies.

Foxx is trying to rebuild his life after a horrible betrayal from his ex. He's starting from nothing and hoping for his job interview to go well. What he doesn't expect is to meet his mate Slade in the elevator. But he's not ready to believe that Slade would want anything more than a one and done. His ex betrayal is still to fresh.

Foxx, an omega fox shifter, is divorced and his ex has lied about him and has hurt his reputation. He has an interview for a job in a new town. All he wants is to start over. He trusts no one. Slate an alpha bear shifter gets stuck in an elevator with Foxx who goes into heat and he helps Foxx out, He knows there's a connection between Foxx and him, but is afraid that Foxx doesn't feel it. I really enjoyed this book.
Sweet story of shy fox shifter Foxx and sweet bear shifter Slade An unexpected meeting in an elevator, surprise heat and an even bigger surprise a few months later It was great getting to follow along their journey to find eachother and grow with together. They seemed to be what the other needed, they found it in their own sweet way.
This was an okay mm shifter story but it wasn’t terribly original. I didn’t get why even though it’s talked about that everyone hates fox shifters so much that Ms. Subject never really goes into why except for some nasty comments from other people. A short low angst read.

Fox is so lacking in confidence because his ex was a low life and treated him very badly. So as the blurb says when he is caught in a stuck lift with Slade, he doesn't think Slade would be interested in ongoing contact. Things get interesting fast and eventually this couple get a sweet as ever after. I loved it! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Fate always finds a way. Adorably engaging. Filled with so many relatable circumstances. Some were admittedly painful, but it was good to see these two get their happiness. Their special connection made this story that much sweeter.

Foxx is a fox shifter who recently got dumped by his ex is running late for a much-needed job interview. Slade is a bear shifter alpha male who works in the building gym.

What a way to meet someone? Stuck in an elevator has got to be a unique way to meet. Foxx and Slade are both shifters, a fox and bear respectively. I liked their chemistry and their passion for each other.

Almost like a Cinderella story. Omega gets thrown out with nothing and no recourse to get even a little back. Alpha to the rescue and his true mate at first sight. Foxx finds his happily ever with Slade.

This a insta-love novella about Foxx overcoming his distrust of Alphas as well as low self esteem and self worth so he can finally have his HEA! The Author did a great job when creating the storyline and characters alike!
