Just looked this up to order an extra copy just for story times and saw that when it came out it was panned by the same former NYPL colleague who raved about The-Nastiest- Potty-Book-I-Have-Ever-Read, "Once Upon A Potty".Enough said about HER(!)

This book's fabric art (by Clare Beaton, who has done some many lovely books on her own since this one) is bold and bright and will attract the eyes of toddlers and preschoolers both in your lap and at a story hour. They will love seeing the different farm animals and the ending as the kitten returns safely to his mother's side. A winner.

The best part of the book are the felt illustrations, they're just so neat to look at. I also liked the story of the kitten who wouldn't listen and got an earful when he said boo to the goose. "I'll never do that again!"

Veronika has now shown an interest in going to the library and picking out books for us to read so I want to keep track of all of them. She loved this one and proceeded to run around the house yelling Boo! at everything. :o)

eh, i really like the illustrations, they can show kids that not just pen and paper can be used to make pictures but the story is ridiculously stupid...
