So the actual concept was good.

The characters though were just so stupid it was painful.

Enzo, our MMC constantly talks about wanting Nina, blah blah blah… but keeps helping his ex who beat Nina up. I’m sorry but carrying her after that was ridiculous.

Also Nina is pretty dumb. She strings all these guys along. Her ex Justin (who cheated on her with Lisa at her birthday party in her bed) is working on himself and she says she’ll think about giving him another chance. She also keeps crying over Enzo even though she repeatedly shoots him down. Instead of setting a boundary about Lisa with him, she just cries. She literally meets up with some rando dude from the internet. Decides the best way to figure out something is to go camping alone in the woods where rogue wolves have been hanging.

Even though Enzo is pretty stupid himself… he’s been pretty forthcoming and honest. Nina just likes to play games,

The best character in this book is Luke!

Also I paid $10 for this e-book and absolutely nothing is resolved by the end.

Nina still thinks being friends is the answer even though she thinks about wanting him all the time.

We still have no clue what’s so “special” about Nina. She’s clearly not human.

The book tries to end on a cliff hanger but it came out of nowhere… his dad wanted him to date a “popular” human girl for no reasons that made sense. Is very anti Nina who is some sort of supernatural… again for no reasons that make sense. But Nina seventy something chapters in still is leading guys on and wants to just be friends but cries if she thinks Enzo likes anyone else. So when we get slapped with daddy having an arranged marriage for Enzo I was like huh???

I normally am not this critical of books, but when I pay for a book and literally nothing plays out I get pissed.

Again with some heavy rounds of editing this could be a good story.

Don’t waste your time. I’m honestly mad at myself for reading this whole thing. All 310 chapters broken out into multiple books. The writing is terrible. Two of the sex scenes are WORD FOR WORD exactly the same. THREE ice skating scenes are exactly the same. And the author really knows how to ruin a romantic moment with describing the guy spitting in his hand and rubbing it on himself. AND to top it all off, the scene that I read on an IG ad that got me reading this in the first place WAS NOT EVEN IN THE BOOKS.

what’s missing?

My Hockey Alpha: Chap 1-73 features a whole lot of build-up without resolutions. To continue reading, you must purchase individual chapters on Heartify or GoodNovel and it gets very expensive. To focus solely on this installment, there plot events that do not make sense, such as when one of Nina’s friends is angry with her and blames a situation on her that really is not Nina’s fault and is uncharacteristic for the friend. Nina seems to bounce back and forth between three male characters, even considering taking the man back who cheated on her on her birthday in her bed. She considers this over a character who continues to show her trustworthiness, kindness, and a good heart. This was a disappointing read. The advertised part of Enzo slamming his hockey helmet into the glass doesn’t even happen in this installment.

I like the concept of the book but the biggest issue is I paid $10 for this book but it doesn’t seem to be finished. When you follow on the Facebook page it seems there are 400+ chapters created but the kindle version only has 73 of those chapters.. unless there is an update in the future that we are provided for free with the remaining chapters this is not worth the buy solely because you are paying for a full book and not getting it!

I notice there is a note at the end that says “more to come” just hoping these are automatically updated to our kindle library as we paid $10 for this book.

For one of these never ending social media/bait trap books, it was suprisingly good. I have read a few other of these books and they feel like they have been written by AI and have random plot points that literally came out of nowhere (I.e. we are 25 and we met on the battlefield when I treated him medically, but this a story about a divorce and inheritance and neither characters are doctors). Sure there is some inconsistencies, but for some reason I was hooked. The werewolves have incredible abilities and I don’t think I quite understand the whole born into it vs rogue vs hybrid. I think there is 200 chapters and where it ends it doesn’t necessarily feel like “the end”, but here we are.

This is the most Canadian book I’ve ever read lol. I actually got this on accident bc I saw an ad on Instagram with a suuuuper spicy scene and when I followed the link it showed this book. So I looked it up and paid almost $10 for this book. The scene never happened so I paid another $10 for the next part and the next part and it actually just doesn’t exist in this book at all which is super disappointing but not the authors fault. Anyway. The story line is interesting enough, but there’s a lot of inconsistencies and it’s just not very believable. Big moments are kind of washed over and it’s like wait what happened? It’s an OK read.

What can I say that hasn’t been said yet ? The FL is so annoying it hurts. We like a devoted man and it’s ok when the FL makes him work for it but this is…just stupid and unfair.
Nina made my eyes roll so much that I had to skip lots of paragraphs, she « has tears in her eyes » way too many times for absolutely no reason, indecisive as heck, jumps to conclusions all the time, she’s a big baby is what she is, someone that plays hard to get on a very stupid level. Pushing away the ML but wanting him to run after her gets old.
There’s no real meaning in anything just a back and forth 90210 sort of love story with several guys (we got it she’s hot and for whatever supernatural reason attractive but at some point the girl needs to grow up and make up her mind.
I wouldn’t recommend this story (is it ?) specially if you’re paying for it.

The plot aside from the main romance is interesting enough to hook you in but the main characters are kinda annoying. Nina and Enzo keep going back and forth, miscommunications, pining for each other but never actually doing anything to move their relationship forward.

I thought the second time they’d have sex would be this firework event cause “hE nEvEr SLeeEpS wiTh tHe SaMe gIrL TwiCe??!111” But nah he slips it in for like 2 seconds and dips. And that’s the last smut we get for the entire first book. (Smh like… cmon yknow that’s really what I came here for…..💀 I wouldn’t mind if the rest of the book was them building up their relationship with dates and meaningful conversations but nah, not much of that really happens between all the drama. It’s just Enzo being jealous and Nina trying to distract herself with other dudes.)

The rest of the chapters is mostly Nina doing dumb shit, getting bullied, crying about her sucky life and Enzo "fixing it".

The storyline plot of Nina being her own type of supernatural and her friendships with Lori, Jess and Luke was actually pretty good and what made me want to keep reading. More of my skellyboy Luke please!! I am actually the most excited to hear more about him and his backstory/life pre-skeleton. And if they manage to reverse the curse and get my boy some flesh!

I bought the book for $1 on Kindle so Im not too mad at it. It’s a decent quick read for the low price and if you’re into this kind of thing. Im talking trash rn but Im probably gonna go buy the next one too after I submit this lmao. (Nvm y’all I just checked and it’s $10….Sorry Luke, maybe another time 💃🏽)

Other side critiques;
- They try to oversell the whole Enzo is an alpha male a little too much for me. I cringe with the way he interacts with his hockey team sometimes 😭
- Take a shot everytime you see "None other than ____" or “Turned on my/his/her heel”
- Enzo letting his ex bully Nina and wondering why she still thinks he’s sleeping with her is wild af.

Unique depiction of all the lore

For this particular genre, it's a great book. It captivates the reader quickly. I didn't find it completely predictable, which was surprising. It's not the same tired story that seems to be rewritten over and over again, about a "human" who falls for a werewolf and suddenly turns out to be a werewolf (atleast not yet). However, there were several moments within the storyline that were lost, unfortunately. which, in turn, did make certain portions of the chapters difficult to read. There were several grammatical errors throughout the 73 chapters I've read so far. Overall, though, it's an interesting and enjoyable storyline thus far. It has several plot twists that I find enjoyable.

don’t even get me started bro. the beginning was absolutely amazing i was so invested but then she did entirely way too much. the book still isn’t finished, more chapters are still coming out and the fact i had to pay for like every 20 or so chapters was actually stupid. after i spent the amount i would on a physical book i stoped bc it was absolutely pointless. it was as if the story wasn’t going anywhere. enzo kept effing up and not communicating at all. literally kept helping his ex when he kept saying he doesn’t care abt her at all. anyway it was stupid, good at first but then stupid😐 i would love to finish it if it didn’t cost a billion dollars but here we are🤷🏼‍♀️

I don't know why I read this. 😩
1. He's not even the alpha, his father is.
2. If he has to spit in his hand before going in, y'all are doing it wrong 🤢
3. Both leads are annoying af. 73 chapters that could have been done in less than 15 in a real book.
4. Sooo many inconsistencies! Needs heavy editing.
5. Enzo, Justin and Nina are all manipulative af. "I'm going to play better and stronger than ever, that'll win her over." What? No, that's. No.
"I put a fake hicky on my neck to make you think I was moving on, so you'll want me." Why.

Can characters have standards beyond, "he looked at me, and now I'm in love with him."

Orginally found on goodnovel, I'm so glad I was able to purchase for $10 instead of paying for each chapter.

So far, enjoying the storyline. Interested in seeing what Nina is. & hoping she pulls her head outta her rear-end and finally gets with Enzo.

Also side note, where has Luke been?

Could use some edits. But compared to other novels I have read on other apps, this is pretty understandable.

I feel like there was a ton of filler. A lot of back and forth which is fine but to what end and it’s not even just with the two main characters. She is back and forth with multiple of the male characters with no real resolve. She sets these boundaries to protect herself but to what end? I understand protecting yourself from going through past traumas but I feel like there isn’t much character growth and she just stays stagnant in her trauma

is the writing good? not particularly. is there world building or good relationship developments? not a lot, no. is the plot interesting? kinda, yeah. i don’t know how i ended up reading this but for some reason i couldn’t put it down, no matter how awful the writing was or how a lot of things made no sense. make of that what you will 🤷🏻‍♀️

Love the book, but more research on hockey terminology should have been done. Several times, it felt like sport terminology was being used from other sports like football then basketball, and then hockey. All sports have coaches that coach and train the team, not the captains of the team. When I look past this, the book has a great story and looking forward to finishing it.

I loved the book about Enzo and Nina. It is not a typical werewolf story but I was so excited when I read it the whole way. I hope the rest of the book will be available in ebooks as well and can keep reading their story and find out more about their romance.

Such a good read. I am saddened that it is an unfinished book because I desperately want to know how it ends. Although I have located more chapters, I cannot contain myself to read a chapter a day (for free at least)

The first 30 chapters are fast paced and then it gets more and more draggy. It's as if the story tries never to end. I never knew reading a story could be so exhausting. Part of me wanted to get to the end, but this story kept hanging. Extremely annoying.

Interesting premise- Ended on a Cliffhanger

The story was fairly well written but very long and ended on a cliffhanger, with no warning.

I was expecting a completed story for how expensive the book itself was.

I've read up until chapter 300 + 10 bonus chapters. I'm just taking a break since last night🤣 but it's a really great read! At the beginning there are inconsistencies which if you're willing to overlook, and give it a chance, you'll see it's a really great book.

moves soooo slow

They repeat each pov from the previous when switching between Enzo and Nina. Also its dragging on and on….same BS about arranged marriage different book. I will say i am enjoying the storyline overall besides those two things.

Loved it

Cool story! I was invested in the characters n Immersed myself in the story! When a writer makes a reader like me laugh? It's fantastic!🙌 It makes for a great read! Can't wait to read the next book to see where this leads!

Book is not finished.

I didn’t know this book was unfinished when I bought it. So I can’t correctly rate it. I will give it a three star. So far I feel like the story is dragging.
