He wasn't judging me, he wasn't criticizing me.
He was ravenous for me.
-BC King & Phantom Dame

Yuletides and Yetis - Alisha Williams & Cassie Lein
3.5/5 -- Tropes:
This was a 'TBC', though the first four chapters we were given weren't bad!

Worshipped By The Werewolf - Ami Wright
4/5 -- Tropes:
I loved the FMC's more dominating role in this story! The worldbuilding was cute too - a monster escort service. I'd read more from that universe! Too bad the extra chapters are locked behind a paywall. :/

I’d now been sitting out here in the lightly falling snow for at least fifteen minutes. And absolutely no one—not Iola or Surt or even Fen—had come looking for me or commented on how cute my new pair of lederhosen looked.
-C Rochelle

Cold Nights In A Warm Cave - BC King & Phantom Dame
4/5 -- Tropes:
The ART in this story! *heart eyes* The author's writing style was fun but quickly crossed the border into a bit silly for my tastes, but overall I enjoyed this story! The bear-folk were a neat idea.

The Yule Log (In Jör's Lederhosen) - C Rochelle
4.5/5 -- Tropes:
I had mixed success with this author's Herculeia series, but getting this wee snippet into Valhalla is Full of Hunks actually moved it way up on my TBR list! I loved pouty Jor in the beginning, it was super cute!

"Did I please you?"
"Mmm. How clever of you to give me your knot like that."
- Ami Wright

Caned by Krampus - Eve L. Hart
3.5/5 -- Tropes:
This setting was super cute! This one might've needed a wee bit more editing, there was some sentence structure issues, dropped words, etc.

One Night With The Yeti - Ivy Tempest
DNF/5 -- Tropes:
I couldn't with the trendy language being used. And anytime the age of the FMC is in the 'teens' *shudder*

With a tentative step, I pushed further into the room. It was nothing like the other areas of Santa's workshop. It was dark and forgotten, a stark contrast to the bright happiness of the space I usually worked in.
-Eve L. Hart

Only One Bedroll - Kate Prior
4/5 -- Tropes:
This was fairytale-esque and at first I wasn't sure if I liked the 'voice' behind the story (despite enjoying Kate Prior in various other works), but it grew on me with the particular setting and characters.

The Prince - Miranda Sapphire
2.5/5 -- Tropes:
I was torn on this one- it almost felt like an entire novel broken down into flash scenes. There was a lot going on! It also had an entirely different tone at first then the other stories in this anthology which was a bit of an adjustment. Some creativity here though!

"Wrap your hand around my cock, little human. That will keep your mind of things."
-Alisha Williams & Cassie Lein

Given To The Sasquatch - Sue Mercury
3/5 -- Tropes:
Short and sweet, I added Gentle Giant to my TBR to maybe peek into this world a little more someday!

Inked By The Ithaqua: A Prequel - Wendi Gogh
1/5 -- Tropes:
DAMN what a way to end an anthology - with a to be continued when we'd barely gotten any story in yet! So annoying!

Yuletides and Yetis by Alisha Williams & Cassie Lein - ⭐️⭐️/5

MM monster/human romance.

The writing style and characters’ internal monologue was cringey. There was minimal development and it was wayyyy to short to have any real substance in terms of their relationship.

Worshipped by the Werewolf by Ami Wright - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

I really enjoyed this one!

Werewolf x Witch
Reverse Dom/Sub dynamic

Caitlyn is running from her past. After a one night stand with Maurice she fled, after all being with her - loving her, isn’t safe. But now she is back and Maurice has been suffering through heats without her. He is determined to make his mate stay this time.

Cold Nights in a Warm Cave by B C King & Phantom Dame - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Part Bear/Part Man × Human FMC
Plus size representation!

This one was SO cute - my favourite so far! Some language/wording was a bit cringey but still fun!

Olivia is seeking an alliance with the Bärvolk.However when she is saved by an anomaly within his tribe, Vetch, she will get more than she bargained for

The Yule Log (in Jör’s Lederhosen) by C Rochelle - ⭐️.75/5

Norse Mythos
Polyamorous Throuple

This one was difficult to follow/understand what was truly going on. Potentially because I've never read the authors work before but also because it jumps into the “plot" with no explanation.

Not plot just vibes/smut

Caned by Krampus by Eve L. Hart - ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75/5

Krampus x Christmas Elf

THE SPICE WAS SPICING. I honestly would have read 20 MORE chapters.

We never learn her name, but the fmc is a Christmas elf. Christmas elves are meant to be chaste and innocent. But she has more carnal desires… ones that lead her to feel guilty and as a result lure Krampus.

One Night with the Yeti by Ivy Tempest - ⭐️/5

Yeti/Human

The concept was intriguing but the writing style and characters were shallow and rather juvenile. The sex scene was uncomfortable and cringey.

18 year old, Blanca is on a ski trip to the Himalayas with her high school snowboarding team. When her roommate is ill their first night there, she sneaks out against her coaches orders to go snowboarding. Inevitably she ends up injured and stranded on the mountain during the start of a storm and is saved by a young yeti, who dreams of interacting and travelling the world - which until now he has only seen through social media posts on phones left behind on the mountain.

Only One Bed Roll by Kate Prior - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Halfling x Orc
Fated Mates

I loooooved this one so much! Rife with adventure, spice and delightful plot twists. Perfect for fans of D&D.

Bianca is a Halfling travelling with a performing troupe, while gathering she comes across Tanis an Orc who saves her from danger and bugs.

The Price by Miranda Sapphire - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Human Witch x Istarii (Otherwordly Demon)
He would commit ANY and ALL kinds of atrocities for her

Ideal for fans of The Duskwalker Brides series.

This one was fun, the spice was perfection and the plot was reasonably well fleshed out for such a short story.

Katya summons Cael to exact revenge on her captors. What she didn’t expect was to fall for the horned demon in the process. He cares for her and helps her heal in ways that go far beyond physical injuries

Given to the Sasquatch by Sue Mercury - ⭐️⭐️⭐️.25/5

Human x Sasquatch
Fated Mates

A short, but fun short story, it was definitely reminiscent of IPB

Brenna is an escaped convict - her cousin has helped to hide her, the catch being she must mate one of the tribe members. When Karm scents her knows she is meant to be his forever.

Inked by the Ithaqua by Wendi Gogh - ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

The first chapter of the novella Inked by the Ithaqua, which I have read previously and devoured.

Ilian is a renowned tattoo artist - and Ithaqua. Zhuloyia is a human fan, who wins a competition to receive an all expenses paid trip to Russia to receive a custom, one of a kind tattoo from Ilian. However, with the design he imparts part of himself, binding them perhaps forever.

🔥 “You’re such a good boy for me, aren’t you?” | Worshipped by the Werewolf by Ami Wright
~~~
It’s time for our favorite werewolf bartender to get his mate!
I’ve loved Maurice since he first appeared in the series! He’s so fun, easy-going, friendly and irresistibly charming. Even more, he’s alway there to help anyone in need or to just listen. For a huge and fearsome werewolf, he gives off so much golden retriever energy! Maurice is such a wonderful male and I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about him!
Caitlyn is a sassy and sexy witch, who’s on the run from her powerful and dangerous step-father. And she doesn’t let people get close to her. But I really loved her confidence, fierceness and bossiness. Even more, I loved how caring and protective she was of the people she cares about, even though she was refusing to admit it. Caitlyn is awesome and I loved her so, so much!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Maurice and Caitlyn! After a passionate night a year ago, Caitlyn disappears. But now she’s back in Heartstone and Maurice is going to get her back. I loved those two together! I loved their banters and teasings, and their chemistry was off-the-charts. And I loved how protective they were of one another. Even more, I loved Maurice’s determination to win his mate by any means necessary but at the same time respecting Caitlyn’s choices and desires. And despite building high walls around her heart, Caitlyn just couldn’t resist the handsome and charming werewolf. Because, he’s such a good, good boy and everything she could possibly need. So, an arrangement to help him get through his next heat, very quickly turns into something more. And when those two couldn’t resist the undeniable need for one another, the passionate moments they shared were scorching hot and I couldn’t get enough of all the naughty delight. Maurice and Caitlyn were so perfect for each other and more than deserved to find happiness and love together!
Overall, the story is a short, fun and very naughty read and I absolutely loved every page of it!
Worshipped by the Werewolf by Ami Wright
4.5 stars
Maurice, the male werewolf lead, has been a secondary character in other stories, supporting other romances but seemingly unattached. In this short story, we see he has found his mate but she left him and he hasn’t been able to find her for a year…
Caitlyn, the female witch lead, has been running from her stepfather for years, trying to protect her family’s grimoire that he murdered her mother to acquire. She more than enjoyed her one night with Reece but she can’t afford attachments. When she signs up as an escort with a monster agency, she’s mortified to find Reece employed behind the bar, and disconcerted when he books her for his next heat. But her stepfather is still searching for her.
This short story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a fated mates, Domme/sub, fantasy romance that felt far too short. I enjoyed the character interactions, especially the spicy intimate scenes with a dynamic that’s my favourite. I appreciated how and why certain sequences took place but it just felt a bit short and rushed, unfortunately.
This short story finished somewhat abruptly, though I enjoyed the premise and the set up for the characters. I hope the author extends the story once it comes out of the anthology because I enjoyed the characters and world.
This review is for Given to the Sasquatch by Sue Mercury
Wow this was a great book and I loved how the main characters had a great chemistry right from the start and worked together to be the perfect couple. Brenna is a human female that gets into trouble because of her boyfriend and was forced into committing a crime but when she sent to prison after testifying and send the mobs men to prison she escapes and her only relative is a cousin is Trevor and he offers her a place to hideout from the government and the mob and she agrees but when he takes her to the Star Blessed tribe of Montikaans to her he is a Sasquatch and he agrees to help her and there is something between them that she knows she will be safe with him. Karm is a Montikaan and is out on patrol whenhe is drawn to the sweetest smell and runs into his friend Trevor who asks him for sanctuary for his cousin Brenna and agrees straight away because she is his chosen one and must convince her to be his before another male try’s to take her away from him. There is so much more to this story that will have you glued to the pages right up till the very end. Loved it.
Brenna can’t seem to get a break in life. Imprisoned for a crime she was forced to participate in, she managed to escape when there was a riot. Now she is hunted by the government as well as the mob for putting 12 of their men in prison with her testimony. Her only living relative is her cousin Trevor. He promised her he had found a safe place for her to live. She was expecting an isolated cabin in the mountains. Instead he takes her to the Starblessed tribe of Montikaans and hands her off to Karm. He assures her she will be safe and cared for.
Karm is on patrol when he smells the sweetest smell ever! He tracks the smell and finds his friend Trevor with a human female. He knows immediately she is his chosen one. Trevor explains why he is asking for sanctuary for his cousin with the tribe. Karm agrees to take her with him. Can he convince her that she is the one for him before another male tries to claim her?
Short but well written.
BRENNA has escaped prison during a riot. She only a year left but she was tired of the fear of being killed by her ex boyfriend's friends or co workers. Her cousin is taking her someplace where she will be safe. He doesn't tell her where till they are so far away from civilization that she has no where to run. Then he explains about the Sasquatches. KARM was on guard duty when he caught a whiff of a sweet smell..a human female. He follows his nose and catches to scent of a human friend. They meet and Trevor explains Brenna is his cousin and needs sanctuary. So Karm takes her to his people's cavern. He knows she is his fated. But will he be able to convince that she is his as he is hers?
Beautiful short story that brings joy to the heart. Would love to learn more of the sasquatchs and especially this couple.
“I only said I was bringing you to safety.”
Given to the Sasquatch
Brenna is on the run and in search of safety, but her cousin Trevor's idea of a safe place to hide is too strange for words.
Karm has dreamed of a day like today. He's prepared for it. And he's going to make it special for the... ski suit clad female beneath the mask that is hidden away beneath all that clothing somewhere.
This done in one quick read is a quick introduction to the Montikaans, and the state of Earth when/where they are living on it. Karm and his people have carved out a life entirely different from how the humans are living, but different doesn't have to mean bad... as Brenna quickly sees, it can mean something wonderful.
I like Sue Mercury's writing, so I got this Anthology from kindle unlimited, and chose to share my thoughts.
I only read the one story.
Given to the Sasquatch – Sue Mercury
Brenna just wanted to be safe. She was innocent. Ok, yes her jerk of a boyfriend got her in trouble but still. Her brother Trevor knew of a place that would keep her safe. But would she accept the choice? Karm didn’t expect to find his mate. When he scented an unmated female that was so sweet, he knew he had found her. This is a quick romance. Brenna wasn’t too shocked about there being real Sasquatches in the world. Since there have been Vaxxlain Aliens, why not Montikaan. And finding Karm and being cared for and loved was the best of all. I wonder if Sue will make the story longer later on.
It is a solid, fun read from various authors. My short story review is for “Given to the Sasquatch” written by Sue Mercury. Brenna was convicted of a crime she was coerced by her ex into committing. She escapes and her brother takes her to the one place he knows she will be safe, the Cascades and the Starblessed tribe of Montikaans (sasquatch). They run into Karm, a kind, gentle, honorable member of the Starblessed tribe, and is instantly smitten with the frightened human and he knows she is his life mate. A well-paced storyline, compelling characters, steam, and a HEA.
Given to the Sasquatch was a sweet story in the Snow, Lights, and Monsters Nights: A Monster Anthology. I love reading anything by Sue Mercury. I haven't read any of the other stories in the anthology yet.
Brenna went to jail after her boyfriend made her commit a crime. She made a deal to turn in him and others for a slightly reduced sentence. She knows it's only a matter of time before she is killed. She makes an escape and makes it to the Starblessed tribe of the Montikaans. She meets Karm who offers her protection. Will Karm and Brenna find happiness together?.
Review specifically for Worshipped by the Werewolf by Ami Wright.
"Tell me I'm a good boy, it makes my tail wag." 🐺
I've been asking Ami for Maurice's story since August, and all I've been given is little snippets of him in each of the Monstrous Deals books... but it's finally here as part of the Snow Lights and Monster Nights antho.
I love this cinnamon roll fluff ball, especially as he shows his claws a bit more in this novella.
I pre-ordered this antho when I found out this is where Ami was publishing his story and I'm so excited to explore the other stories.
An editor would have benefited this anthology. How do you release a book of this nature and misspell the title of one of the stories.
For this reader the two best stories were "Worshipped by the Werewolf" by Ami Wright and "The Price" by Miranda Sapphire. I wouldn't mind reading an expanded version of Sapphire's story or coming across the characters again in the series. I've read a couple of the Monstrous Deals series by Wright's and it was a pleasure to learn more about my favorite bartender. "Cold Nights in A Warm Cave" by BC King and Phantom Dame brought humour to the collection.
Short hot and steamy, the book Sue Mercury has in in Snow, Lights, and Monster Nights: A Monster Anthology Its an insta-love story. Brenna has escaped from prison and her cousin is helping her hide from the government and the mob. He takes her to the Starblessed tribe of Monliaans/Sasquatch. She is shocked at first and then realizes that its the best place for her. Then she meets Karm and feels to be close to him.
Short and quick
This review is about the story Given to the Sasquatch by Sue Mercury.
As a short story it doesn’t give much background information. As most people will have heard the term Sasquatch or Yeti, that is not a very big problem. There is instant attraction, followed by steamy mating. Introduction to the series. Even if the story itself is good enough, I don’t think I will start reading the series. I do prefer to get a lot of laughs out of a book and I doubt the series will give that.
Brenna is on the run from the authorities and the mob and her cousin says he has somewhere safe for her to hide. In the back of the frozen beyond he takes her to a remote Montikaan settlement.
Karm is out patrolling when he catches the most delicious scent on the breeze. One glance at the small, human female and he knows she is his one.
A wonderful steamy instalove romance between a desperate and frightened woman and a huge, gentle sasquatch.
This review is for Given to the Sasquatch by Sue Mercury. Brenna is on the run from the mob and the law when her cousin helps her by getting her to the Montikaans. Karm is guarding his Montikaan tribe's land when Brenna arrives, and immediately is drawn to her. This short snippet is a sweet and simple insta-love romance between these two, and it was lovely to read. I’d read other books in this associated series, however this short story gave plenty of background to make it enjoyable. A fun and quick little read.
Review for Worshipped by the Werewolf by Ami Wright ❤️
I absolutely loved Maurice!
We're seen him in the other Monsterous Deals books and I've been dying for him to get his own HEA and here it is!!
He is the perfect cinnamon roll good boy and fits perfectly with Caitlyn.
Caitlyn has her reasons for being so standoffish and always moving around but Maurice was the perfect guy for her to keep her grounded.
This series gets better and better with every book!
I give it like a 2.9. There was a lot of cute stories I love the yeti novellas and the bear-man one very cute! There was a lot of grammatical errors though which did bug me (especially when the guy called his cousin "Cuz") as well as it ending on a cliffhanger. Otherwise some of them I really liked and would read again. And the DND reference was a nice touch on the novella with an orc and a halfling.
I've only checked out Sue Mercury's story "Given to the Sasquatch" so far but look forward to diving into all the books found in this collection. Given to the Sasquatch is a fun addition to the Cascade Beasts series and although it's a shorty, it delivers a page turning read for Karm and Brenna. Well written, engaging and steamy, it fits well within this collection and I can't wait to read the other books :D
There are some books you read because of the blurb and some you read because of the cover. Then there’s this book which I only read because of the title. Sasquatch??
Well, the laugh is on me because I absolutely enjoyed this short story. It’s no surprise that this is completely unrealistic but it’s fun and surprisingly sweet. Well worth a read if you’re looking for something quick, light and entertaining.
This delightful short is included within this anthology and it was five star worthy! I did not think I’d like a female dom but it does not emasculate our wolf alpha. There are some great authors contributing to this collective work and it’s worth downloading. Enjoy❤️❤️
Worshipped by the Werewolf by Ami Wright was a cute snowed in novella in the Snow, Lights & Monster Nights anthology. It was a cute and quick read. I loved seeing other characters from the Monstrous Deals series making cameos in this little novella made me soo happy. I do wish this was a whole book itself because I just want more, this little taste of Maurice and Caitlyn is not enough. Hope to see more of them in the Monstrous Deals universe.
Worshipped by the Werewolf by Ami Wright. Part of Ami's Monster Deals series. The story between Maurice and Caitlyn was great. It was nice to finally see the bartender from the monster bar have his own story. He is even sweeter than I imagined he was though.
The story is interesting and pulls you in. Another happy addition to the series.
