She soon sees why everyone has told her to not date the dragon next door.
Harmony Raines loves to write romance filled with magic and love. Her men are usually not so alpha, but they know how to treat their fated mates, or alien lovers well.

Just my way of saying thank you for giving my books a try.
This was cutesy, sweet and a fast paced book. It was a good light read for me, as it felt like it lacked substance. Don't get me wrong, it's well written, and kept good pacing, it just felt like it jumped from moment to moment with no real build up? Like we went from 'oh he's cute but I don't wanna date right now' to 'he's my mate, I wanna marry him and have a million babies' in like 20 pages? And that's kind of a thing for these romantasy books these days. I just prefer a slow burn, or a natural progression from friendship to love.
I did like the magic world building in this. The author is good at blending those touches of magic into the everyday lives of her characters. I also like that she doesn't let the 'animal' side of shifters override their humanity constantly.blike there are moments where the MMC Dragon gets pushy but he is able to talk it out,and they don't do anything stupid. I also liked that the MFC was so supportive of her kids.
I did not like the pacing. Like I said, it jumps really fast, and abrupt. I had to go back and check if I missed a chapter by accident because it was that jarring.

I enjoyed this story more than the first book. The story flowed well, I didn’t feel lost, and the overall character development made sense. Enjoyable read!
Leah is taking her 2 children away from her overbearing ex-husband. She goes to Wishing Moon Bay and then meets Ash, who seems to have many characteristics of her ex. But there is something about him that is still appealing for some reason. Ash knows that she is his mate, but she seems very cautious around him, so he tries to win her over. Will he succeed with her and with his plans for Wishing Moon Bay? Read this to find out. You do need to read the series in order, and I recommend reading the series The Bond of Brothers before book 1 of this series.
The pace is engrossing and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character oriented storyline that has a few steamy scenes, but not overly detailed. The characters are vivid and engaging, especially Leah's 2 kids, who are very sweet. This is a good shifter romance about being all you can be, and how people can change. I won't say more than that, except that I loved it and I love Wishing Moon Bay!
A dragon looking for redemption, redirection of his life. A woman looking to start over with her children Tommy & Maria, new town, new adventures. Ash & Leah are fated mates, but she spent many yrs in a marriage where she had no say & her children weren’t allowed to think for themselves. She wasn’t willing to give up their new found freedoms. Ash has a plan to help the businesses of Wishing Moon Bay. Together, they offered a great forum for WMB owners to talk, ask questions & hear from business owners that were thriving. The Lonely Tavern once again aids in the matchmaking of a fated pair along with Morwenna & Flint. However, a past has the opportunity to make itself known when Leah’s ex shows up expecting her to return with him. Will Ash lose his mate to her ex, or will his overbearing family have their back once & for all? This was a sweet, sexy, slightly steamy love story of fated mates! Enjoy!
This book is superbly written and draws the reader in completely. The characters are well rounded and evolve and the action moves quickly and logically despite all the lovely magic😅 my only gripe is Leah, you may disagree when you read this story, but Leah annoyed me intensely. She come across as a sanctimonious, judgmental person despite having been a mafia wife who used and continues to use her magic to manipulate everyone around her. Despite this she constantly judges poor Ash for every action he takes but is happy to accept his low rent, babysitting skills and the hosting job he gives her. Along with all the connections that brings to help her thrive in the bay. In the end she never seems to apologize for treating him like rubbish even after she lies by omission about her husband’s goon. He deserves better.

This dragon shifter romance was a phenomenal read. I love the way Ash talks to his dragon and you don't see that much in dragon shifter books. The characters in this book were brilliantly put together and made the book a very interesting read from beginning to end. This is another fabulous read by Harmony Raines, I was completely sucked in from the beginning and was extremely difficult to put down. If you love dragon shifter romances books then this is the book for you.
Super cute, cozy small-town dragon shifter romance with a hint of magic. It was low-stakes and predictable but had lots of cute details and sweet relationships between the characters that kept me reading. I definitely saw the chemistry between Leah and Ash, and it was a good take on Fated Mates. I do wish Ash's dragon form and Leah's witchy powers were explored more, but when they were used in the book, they were used very well. Loved the use of food and drink (especially alcohol) as a love language in this book. I also loved how Leah enchants her alcoholic beverages with her witch powers (especially at the end with Vittorio). The kids are cute, there's two spicy scenes, and a nice HEA. Overall a nice cozy read for those that love dragon shifters (like I do!).
It was... Not that good. Lots of typos, which always bother me. The main character is Leah, but the author typed Lead and Leash. And the word is beer, not bear. Maybe hire someone to proofread?
There were several parts of this book that were very detailed when it didn't need to be. And there were several parts of this book that were missing details. I couldn't care less about what they were wearing or the imp negotiations, but knowing more about her being a witch and their special gifts would have been helpful.
I also really really hate when characters don't give their supposed partners the full story. So you're mates, maybe tell your mate about your ex-husband? Idk.
Misunderstandings are very popular in this book along with trust. This is a story of Leah and Ash. She comes to Wishing Moon Bay to start her life over along with her kids. She meets very interesting characters along the way that make this story such a treat. Leah goes through some personal growth to overcome the scars of her failed marriage. Ash deals with his own issues and discovers how change is good. These two characters share a rollercoaster of feelings that make reading this story so much more satisfying and the heated chemistry is nothing to shy away from. Read this story and immerse yourself in a great adventure. Enjoy!
Ash and Leah. Leah and her two children, Maria and Tommy, moved to Wishing Moon Bay to start fresh. She just got divorced from her children’s father. They lucked out in finding an apartment that was affordable. Their next door neighbor, Ash, is a dragon shifter and her landlord. Now to get a job. There is a tavern that is called The Lonely Tavern that Leah approached about working at. They are giving her a trial run. They also warned her about dating the dragon next door. Well she figures out she is ok because her children are her priority now and nothing else. But Ash may have something to say about that because Leah is his mate! Now how to tell her, easy right?
>seeking a safe haven away from her dangerous mafia don husband, Leah and Ash are drawn together by the magic of the Lonely Tavern. >Dragon Shifter Ash gives her and her children a safe, affordable place to stay and as they work together they are able to tackle problems in town and help each other to find solid footing. >Wealthy sugar daddy and strong independent mother work together to create a safe space for the children to grow up and provide a are haven for ash too, an outsider in the town. >Really cute story! I love the story building and the cute fantasy town! >The simple magic at the Lonely Tavern is so endearing!

This book was a bit confusing in some spots. Not about the story but about the time passing in the book. As I read, to me this book took place in the span of maybe 4 days tops.
On the second day I believe is when they have their meeting. They owners son made it seem like they were in town long enough for the kids to have started in school as to which there is no mention of.
The dialogue to me was a little dry and packed depth. I didn't feel the connection between the main characters.
There wasn't much alone time for them to really get to know each other.
Leah and her children have come to Blue Moon Bay to start a new life after her divorce. There first stop is a place called the Lonely Tavern not your typical tavern it’s magical. That’s where they are told to look for a apartment but don’t date the dragon next door. Well Ash is the dragon next door he is also the landlord but the bigger surprise is Leah turns out to be his mate. So enjoy another good read and see how it all works out or not. Lol !
Just okay. Felt it could have been better laid out. I liked Ash, and his dragon, but thought he was either overly aggressive or too compliant. He was super sweet with Tommy and Maria though. His family dynamics were a bit funny and weird. Leah I couldn’t quite find likeable. She was very derogatory towards Ash at times, even with his help. Then she isn’t honest about a possible problem. The whole situation and actions with Vittorio was just too weird to believe. Needed proofreading. Read through kindle unlimited.
This is more of a 3 1/2-star rating. Editing!! For goodness sakes, have a friend read the book before putting it out there for us to read. There were far too many mistakes in this book for an author like Raines, who has written so many books, for this to be acceptable. The storyline was good and bar the editing issues was a fair read. But hitting those editing issues is like hitting speed bumps while going 50 miles an hour. It's jarring and disrupts the whole flow of the read. Do better author, do better.
I like the Lonely Tavern because you just never know what will happen in it. Having a broom that cleans when it wants to is something I need in my house! Ok we all need. I love seeing how the son changed and grew after moving to this town. The way the kids had fun fishing and learned a lot was great. Not sure why you don't date the dragon next door but if he lived next to me and treated me well, I think I would have to date him. Sighs... He has a mate now. Darn.
This is not yr usual dragon book of someone seeking to be chosen and then chosen by their dragon and off to adventures. This one has a mom with 2 children trying to make a better life from her mob oriented ex husband. Enter Ash who has a terrible reputation whether it is based in fact or gossip is up for discussion. The story that follows is of finding one's self along with some imps and other dragons and a self propelled broom. Very enjoyable.
Interesting story, the mom is trying to do what is best for both her and her children. She has to decide who she can trust, being in a new town that can be hard. Lots of twists and turns, can she trust this dragon next door? Ash feels something he has never felt before, she is his fated mate. Can he convince her he is trustworthy? Is she hiding something? What is she afraid of? Can he convince her he can be her future?
I was kinda disappointed in this book. Harmony Raines is one of my favorite authors. I look for her books whenever I'm looking for a new read. However, this book I wish I hadn't found. It's a cutesy cutesy book. There were a lot of typographical errors which is annoying. The story line is predictable and the story was kinda dull. Not your typical "can't put it down" Harmony Raines book. I hope the rest are better because I've already downloaded them. Rookie mistake. 🤦♀️ Here's hoping.🤞🏻
Leah and her children meet Ash when she looks at his available apartment. He realizes she is his fated mate. She wonders about it. They are both trying to rebuild their lives for different reasons. There story is very interesting with some twists and turns.
I really wanted to like this book I mean come on dragons and mafia ?? But it was very hallmark and predictable. If you love a hallmark movie with B actors you will like this book. It was feel good with a happy ending bust I felt the story was lacking a little something.
DO NOT Date the Dragon Next Door (The Lonely Tavern Book 2) by Harmony Raines. Leah arrives in Wishing Moon Bay with her 2 children after divorcing her mafia husband. She takes a flat owned by dragon shifter Ash but is told never to date him. They soon find out they are fated mates but her ex husband doesn’t want to let her go.
The second book in this series and I can't get enough. That tavern is something else very magical and full of mystery. You gotta love Morwenna and her matchmaking tavern, I love Wishing Moon Bay and the different people that live there. Always a thrill reading your books Harmony Raines...big fan as always Winzie19💞🤗.
I loved the kids, and the romance was with 2 people who deserved to be happy. The pace of the story was too slow for me. And I was expecting some action but there was no action in this story. There was some uncomfortable meet ups, but the story was more romance than suspense.
I loved this second book of the series. The story flows with more ease. The characters are intriguing. There's much more romance and I enjoy the mated mates trope. The characters we met in the first book are supportive in the second. There's humor and a sense of community that make the world building more approachable.
Pretty basic met-greet-love-marriage in 2 months book. Not a lot of surprises. I'd like to see more about the Tavern. It's more intriguing than some of the stories. Quite a few editing issues and typos. A couple of sections that made no sense, like they were out of synch or missing a sentence. I might do Book 3, but it will be a while.
Such a great story. Things were perfect. There were some bumps in her new life in this magical town she was born in. Meeting the Dragon that she was warned about, was the beginning of some happy things, A wonderful memories for her kids. Great plot line of how their worlds messed.
I read this book And enjoyed the concept the author had in it. I never thought that mafias would be around with a dragon shifter but I guess I was wrong. . The . The author gives each Character character a personality either love you hate Character character a personality either love you hate or you just wonder why.
