A spicy, forced-proximity, plus-size, strangers-to-lovers romance that will simultaneously have your toes curling and butterflies erupting in your stomach. For all your cinnadom fantasies. Get ready to meet the book boyfriend of your dreams. HEA, no third-act breakup!
After seeing her ex-husband's engagement announcement, Sol Vatner has a complete and total meltdown. Post two bottles of wine and a good, hard look in the mirror, she finds herself packing up as many leggings and t-shirts that she can shove into her bags and setting off to her family's cabin in the woods in the middle of nowhere. A cabin that just so happens to have no electricity...or plumbing...or wifi. With a handful of printed pages from a meditation blog and a heaping pile of books, she prescribes herself a two-week-long cleanse that is sure to solve all of her problems and heal all of her baggage. She'll become one with nature and find herself in the peace and quiet. Sounds totally logical and completely realistic. Eye roll.
But what happens when her isolation is interrupted by a sexy lumberjack moving into the cabin across the way?
Grayson Stoker is ridiculously sweet, and kind...and infuriating, and grumpy, and demanding, and dominant, and funny, and so goddamn handsome. Sol has absolutely no idea how to be in the presence of the most attractive human she's ever seen in real life.
Well, she better figure it out quick, because after her car breaks down and leaves her stranded, she's left with no choice but to extend her two-week staycation and move in with the man she's been fantasizing about while reading her books.
Can the two divorcees find the parts of them they lost in the Pennsylvania mountains? Find out in, "The Cabin."
Swoon worthy book!! Hot, hot, HOT!! 🥵 My good lord…
Very well written and witty, had me giggling at all the sweet parts and shocked at all the dirty 🤭
Grayson was quite literally the worlds sweetest most thoughtful man (maybe I should hint hint nudge nudge this at my bf lol) and Sol pissed me off in her self pity and spiraling but she grew a lot by the end of it and that’s admirable.

Strangers to lovers is not typically my groove but Grayson is basically exactly my type of man (beard, bulky dude with lots of flannels to steal and snuggle in, etc etc), so I obviously made an exception.
A cabin in the mountains of Pennsylvania is almost too perfect of a setting for me, so naturally, I was immediately roped in there too.
The smut in this book is zero to one hundred SO FAST. One minute they’re leaving lingering, fleeting, nervous touches on one another and the next he’s (only slightly paraphrasing here) “filling every hole she has.”
Big fan of Sol being a confident af plus-size woman. Not as big of a fan of the way she inwardly feels about herself because of her piece of shit ex-husband. While I’m on the topic of exes, Natalie is the vice president of the POS-club, right in line behind Mr. Pres, Brian.
My biggest criticism of this book is that it kind of reads like a stream of consciousness, which I’m pretty sure was what the author was going for, and it’s probably more a me-thing than an actual issue with the book and the writing itself. Overall a good read and a nice, smutty way to kick off my year.

I don't even know what to say about this book. Normally, I hate FMC who completely lose themselves over a man who doesn't deserve anything, but I completely fell in love with Grayson, the sexy lumberjack she finds in a lonely cabin in the mountains who is also going through his own emotional turmoil. I haven't had a book boyfriend in years, and damn if he isn't the perfect combination of cinnamon roll and dom. He totally stole the show, and I found myself staying up all night reading just to see what he would do next. I'd also like to add that I laughed so many times while reading this book. Some of the FMC's one-liners, even when she was being self-deprecating, are hilarious. I didn't like some of the stylistic choices, but they did not take away from my enjoyment of the story, the spice, or Grayson.
It's really hard to push through. The good parts were SO good, but there was so much inner dialog that went on for pages and pages and was very repeatative. It's hard to read a plus-size romance when the plus-size woman is constantly negative towards herself.

This is a very cute book with a surprising amount of spice. The banter between the characters is well written and the story is fairly well paced. I couldn't give it 5 stars though.
Here's the thing, I understand trauma and all that but Sol comes off pretty weak and at about the halfway point I started to wonder if our adorable cinnamon roll Grayson deserved someone better. She had a couple of redeeming moments that I can't go into without spoiling anything but then just slipped right back into her trauma cycle. Hopefully she actually worked on herself with her therapist like she kept saying she should. All that said it was cute with a fairly satisfying HEA.
This was a hot 🔥 read! I particularly loved the first half of the book before all the spice came flooding my way. Not that I didn't enjoy the spice but it had me blushing HARD! My unsuspecting spouse even made an enquiry as to what was I reading: ".... err just a little contemporary romance book I came across..." Heroine was lovely, relatable until she just opened up to all the things I don't think I'd ever agree to upon my person 🫣 While I might re-read the first portion of the book for the brilliant tension and yearning, the rest I think I'll just skip on the next re-read 😉 still a great book!
Whew. Okay so I have a real soft spot in my heart for this author. I’ve tried looking her up but I respect her anonymity as she’s a teacher and this was spicy 🥵
But Chey Williams, if you see this, giiiiirll!!!! I looooooved The Cabin!
The character development for Sol was so so good. At first I had a hard time liking her character but it is so easy to fall in to the why me feeling and her circumstances were just so believable.
Greyson was a little hot and cold but dayum when the man decided.
Im definitely a fan and looking forward to her other books
Wow. Speaking from experience I think the author did a great job portraying the difficulties and emotional trauma of leaving a bad marriage and trying to find one's self in the process. I can relate to a lot of the emotional turmoil going on in the main characters brain as she struggles with simple things in life. This was a great read. Great character development. Great chemistry between the two and and a satisfying storyline.
I hate not finishing books especially when I'm about 100 pages from the end, but I really started hating these characters and I didn't give a damn where they ended up so I DNF'd. Sol is obnoxious, Grayson is a jackass, and I hated their dynamic overall. The stupid miscommunications and that dumbass prank war thing they had going on...ugh. Not for me. Also: 245 pages in and they STILL had not had actual sex. Which defeated my main purpose for reading this...
This is a about as spicy as mayo. The FMC is annoying in that she is every neurotic stereotype of a woman; at one point I thought this was written by an INCEL! I had to DNF. I HAVE NEVER DONE IN MY LIFE. I might have suffered through it if there was a flicker of heat. Sadly this was as warm as Michigan during polar vortex. Do not waste your time.
You know it’s good when you are at work and all you want to do is pick up your kindle to find out what happens next (I was counting down the minutes!). I picked this out on KU on a whim, as the premise sounded appealing and it did not disappoint: storyline, MMC and his cinnadom nature, and loads of spice and a HEA. Hits all the notes.
UH NOPE. ABSOLUTELY NOT. I just think lots of things in this book came out cringe and not heartfelt. So I think overall that this book was generic and nothing really special. It just felt so dislocated and messy, so it just made me so bored out of my brains. Plus, when it mentioned Elon Musk, yeah, absolutely not. 1
I quite literally was reading this while at work, not even feeling guilty for shirking my duties. The writing style was quirky and I fell in love with this book. So much so that I'm going to buy a hard copy!
A roller coaster. Grayson has the patience of a saint. Sol and her internal dialog...omg. She kept self sabotaging, but she was finally able to accept love...One of my favs. Read it!!!
Definitely spicy and a super quick read. The inner dialogue parts were really long and a bit repetitive. Even if I can empathize and understand the reasoning for them, it was just too much. Cute love story overall about two broken people.
This was really cute and VERY spicy, but the MMC has the patience of a saint. The FMC drove me nuts, she was so neurotic. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for that. Other than that bit of annoyance, excellent read!
This book was THE spiciest book I’ve ever read in my entire life. Had me clutching my pearls and going to church to pray for my soul. Other than that, good storyline and well written!
FL was kinda annoying in the beginning to be frank, and there was some excessively unnecessary dialogue here and there. Otherwise, quick read and entertaining.
Lots of spice, lots of heat, and a muscular cabin man. I loved this book and the vulnerability displayed. I enjoyed the vulnerability within this book.
