I enjoyed this story for the most part. The relationship dynamics are dark, rough, and dirty. They hit a lot of my favourite tropes right on the head. The sex scenes are expertly crafted. The characters are intensely interesting and even more intensely into each other, which is highkey chef’s kiss.
I wasn’t a big fan of the plot—there just wasn’t enough of it for me. Though it clearly fed a lot into Zach’s character, it didn’t really have an ongoing, living impact on the story until like the last 30% of the book where it made a brief meaningful appearance, but ended up feeling more like a lost opportunity than anything. And some of the prose was repetitive and rough-around-the-edges. But I’d still recommend this book for what it is: a steamy dark erotica.

If sizzling heat between two hot men in extreme circumstances is your jam then, welcome.😘 Zach is sexy young thing just trying to exist in world. Wyatt is dangerous and brutal. Their worlds collide in a spectacular fashion. They shouldn't work. But their chemistry is undeniable. Leo Rivers creates a brutally beautiful world in which Zach and Leo exist and thrive. Zach learns Wyatt is a hired hitman. He lets him know his boss has been sexually exploiting him for years and he finally got the courage to quit. Wyatt takes care of said boss.
Not much story. Not much spice. Not much murder for hire.
