Weather Girl

Rate this book
Dear Reader,

Some of you may know me as an actor. But before all that, I got my

degree in English at The University of Southern California with an

emphasis in creative writing. I have spent the last

couple of decades in Hollywood and working all over the

world. But my first love was short fiction. I spend a lot of time

writing scripts, but when the pandemic came along, that lovely

mistress came tapping at my back door. Weather Girl is a love

letter to Joan Didion, Nathaniel West, Mike Davis, Thomas Pynchon,

and my 22-year journey through the film and television business.

It’s cutting failures and glorious victories. The magic. The myth.

The uncrackable code of what makes someone a star, and ultimately,

the realization that none of it makes any sense. I hope you enjoy the story of Rae Winterborn, my Weather Girl.

Amazing short story!

At first, I was getting an anchorman's Veronica Corningstone vibe but Rae is much more than that.

The story really dives into the life of an LA entry level struggle and the assumption one might have of a person who found success and how they "really" got it.

I didn't want to put it down. I wanted to hear what great things Rae was able to achieve and the ending had a twist I never expected!

Great read. Highly recommend.

a story for the women disregarded

I feel seen by this piece. Often times a clean slate is unattainable or unattractive when we settle into our roles society gives us. It feels written by a woman, but instead by an observant man. A man who captured the wreckage women feel when pigeonholed into their role.
