Ashley Hayes is an adventurer, with a love for anything magical, mysterious, or exciting. While she would have loved to have wings, super super speed, or the ability to shape- shift, she has no significant super powers (yet). Even more unfortunately, she never received her Hogwarts acceptance letter, and she still hasn’t found a way into Narnia. She was quickly running out of books to read so, left with no other choice, she decided to create her own adventures.

Ashley published her first book, Magic Made, in 2019, and her second book, Magic Taken, will be released summer of 2020. Now, she also wants to share what she has learned with any other writers who are hoping to publish their stories.

Okay... I know that I may be extremely biased when I say this, but this book is absolutely incredible. I already loved the first book, and yet this one takes it to a whole new level.
After reading Magic Taken, I have come to the conclusion that the ending of the first book was a bit of a false ending. And that's not a spoiler. This was done on purpose. You think everything is "happily ever after" for the most part after book one. Book two is here to tell you it's not. It's really not. And that's not even getting to the big heist that happens in this book, which is mentioned in the synopsis. For over the first half of the book, where get to sit in this world and come to terms with the consequences of what has happened. How it affects people big and small, and why how things ended in book one might not have been a good idea. The dialogue conveys so much wit and emotion and desperation... in a book aimed at middle grade readers! I've read books for adult audiences with way less depth than this. By the end, I wanted one thing. More. Give me more!
