A good, short read from the most prolific last-century writer on Christian view of finances. A short read, Mr. Burkett starts with the big picture--the economy and how it works, then moves to overall Biblical financial principles which is the bulk of the short book.

In this section, he moves from the idea of wealth, to what wealth looks like from a Scriptural point of view, the good and Scriptural reasons for accumulating wealth and how to live generously so one does not become a slave to wealth. He ends with a short section on practical applications of the principles which he develops to a much deeper level in subsequent books.

A very good place to start to understand wealth from the point of view of God's revelation in Scripture.

It was a cool book. I got some things out of a few chapters. This late author is a supposed well-known financial guru. I rated it so favorably because this is a fairly old book, but much of its content is very much relevant to today. This cashless system that we are headed towards is even covered (not mentioned) in the book, and I read this book for a finance class back in 2012 or 2013. See there

It’s ok

It has some good Biblical principles, but it was published about 50 years ago, so you can expect some antiquated suggestions. Also the author inserts a couple statements here and there that are not necessarily Biblical founded and that don’t relate to finances (For example—guns are evil). A few of those statements I strongly disagreed with.

This is an update to the original book that introduced me to the principles about handling our finances. I used this book in a Facebook discussion to help others. My all time favorite.

I enjoyed the content. It’s a bit outdated but has consistent scriptural principles. A good guide at the end to reference for budgeting
