CHOICES
You make the right choice, you win.
You make the wrong choice, you lose.
You let someone else choose for you, because there really isn’t any other way to do it and they own you.
I’ve worked for Reno Parker for six years.
And shit just got bad.
I’m going to the place I thought I’d never see again.
I’m going home.
Do I want this new responsibility? No.
Do I need it? Yes.
Will someone else choose for me? Never again.
And to finally crash this impending train wreck, there's a girl messing with my head.

Are you ready for another seven days?

This instalment in the Tainted Heart series is so full of suspense that it had me on the edge of my seat practically the whole way through! What I love about AJ's writing style is you just never know what will come next. And this book was, for me, full of surprises! I went into it expecting a certain story and was (pleasantly) completely wrong!

I love Runner/Kyle. He has a special place in my heart, has done since the first book, but in this one I fell in love with him even more. He has to put on such a bad ass persona when he really is a sweetheart underneath.

Talon is a bit of a mystery throughout this book and it's not until the end that you really start to uncover her story, but what a story it is! Damn! Did not see all that coming, I mean it was hinted at but... woah! I love her attitude - she is full of sass, determination and intelligence.

Two very strong lead characters, alternating POVs and a not so happy ending. AJ makes no apologies for leaving us hanging again either, I just hope we're not stranded too long! I, for one, cannot wait for more!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES!

Re-read 27/5/15 in the lead up to the next book - still love it!

Runner is the second book in the Tainted Heart Series and it’s basically Runner’s story. If you’ve read the first book, then you’ll immediately know what Runner’s real name is. The book starts in the past and brings the reader to the present, giving you an inside look of Runner’s mind. You’ll learn all of his secrets and how he goes from being one person and becoming Runner. You also see him struggle with his feelings for a woman named Talon, and you’ll see her struggle to contain what she feels for Runner. They fight their feelings, but for very different reasons. One doesn’t want to let down another person and the other has to save a loved one. The point of view shifts throughout the book between the two and while it’s helpful, the flow is disrupted in my opinion. I think it would have flowed better had the author written just from Runner’s point of view and saving Talon’s story for another book. Putting her story in the middle of Runner’s while never giving any resolution to what happens to Jase at the end of book one makes the book confusing and hard to follow. Another character is introduced as well, Xavier Parker. He’s only mentioned a few times throughout the book and when first introduced, the author makes him seem like an important character to the story…and then he’s only mentioned in Runner’s thoughts; Xavier is not seen or heard from again in the book.

The end of the book is also confusing. It ends with Talon’s point of view and she explains her role in the book. Some questions are answered, but more sprout up that are never answered. As with book one, there’s another horrible cliffhanger. I don’t mind cliffhangers if they’re done in a way that resolves the issues in the book and sets it up for the following book to pick up where it needs to; this cliffhanger doesn’t do that it. It felt like the author ran out of steam and just decided to end the book there and have it published. I’m not sure that I will read the next book in her series because I’ve been disappointed by this book.

A Definite NOT-TO-BE-MISSED!! (Beta Reader Review)

Looking for a sweet, soft 'n sappy, heart-warming Love story? Well You won't find it Here!

Hot, Sexy, Passionate, Dark and Heart-breaking! With unbelievable mind blowing scenes to caress your tainted soul and break all boundaries set by society to protect the faint hearted and open your mind to all the possibilities of life and the challenges people come across.

Oooh (is all I can say without any spoilers LOL) and the tension between Talon and Runner, be it sexual or just plain frustration, gives the reader an urge to just slap some sense into them!! They are my fav couple from this book in the Tainted Hearts Series.

But be warned.....

It has a gripping-the-edge-of-your-seat Ending!

and You will be screaming at your pages!!

ENJOY IT!!
