Trapped on a primal world, I am at the mercy of an alien alpha.
We could not be two more different creatures.
Thorn is massive and scaled.
He has been designed by nature to dominate every living thing he encounters.

Me? I’m small. Soft. Curvy. And I live to break the rules.
He captures me easily, but keeping me will be harder.
With every escape attempt, my alien alpha gets even more primal.

He’s going to strip me of everything.
My pride. My resistance. My purity.
He’s going to make me submit to him.
He’s going to make it as painful as it needs to be.
And he’s going to make it so hot I melt for him.

I am his captive.
And he is my new primal master.

Primal is a dark alien romance featuring captive themes. Mature readers only, please.

3 - 3.5 smut-scale stars!

Primal was kind of ridiculous but kind of totally fun. I’ve been in a bit of a book slump and have just been randomly trying books recommended on my Kindle page. This was one of those books.

A Sci-Fi feel with loads of smut and minimal plot. The hero isn’t human and loves his new toy that has crashed on his planet. Dom/sub vibes with a pirate heroine with a backbone and an alpha alien that won’t take no for an answer.

”You’re mine,” he growls down at me. “My mate. My owned little human thing. You belong to me now.”

Enjoyed this and will probably read the others in this series. It’s a smutty palate cleanser with darker undertones!

I have read other books she has written and enjoyed them. This one was different. The original storyline sounds good, but the story gets sidetracked into what we can only guess is the author's kink. It could have used more story and fewer whippings. I usually read the next book she has in line, but no need this time. Another captive woman who will be beaten, whipped, and sexed into line. Same story we just read. Don't mind the sex, but too many pages filled with, feelings and thoughts on the "whippings"

Cute short story

This was a very entertaining story. I enjoyed the characters, although i think some of the descriptions could have been put into better words. But it was a good book. N good lead into the next book. HEA

So much smut! And a fairly fun story to bind it all together. Like other reviews mentioned, there were several continuity issues that can be jarring, but overall they were fairly easy to skip over.

I did not like these series at all. I foolishly bought the whole series (all 4 books), because I heard it was good, boy were they wrong. It’s categorized as dark romance, but it’s pitch black.
I’ve read several books with dark romance, and in many of them even if the male character is unhinged and does frankly morally grey (or even morally black) things, their obsession, passion and love often manage to come across.
This was not the case here.

All these aliens do is just beat (and worse) their women into submission, even for just talking. I personally don’t have anything against sexy dominant aliens who like to punish (in a mutually agreed upon and pleasant way) their subs, but in this series - it was not sexy or even hot.
There was no consent, and yes I am aware that noncon is often a part of dark romance, but in these books it was just plain and simple rape.

These aliens are supposed to be “mates” to these women, but all they do it beat them into submission, and frankly even if they’re dominant badasses this is not how you treat someone you love. In book 2 and 3 it’s quite literally abuse in gruesome ways.
In the first book it kinda makes sense, since the heroine has a specific condition, that makes her like it, but all her “mate” does is just spank and whip her for even opening her mouth and basically just keeps her locked in her room. These women are supposed to be these fearsome awesome pirates and they just take it and are happy to be downtrodden, because they “love” their “mates”?

I kept reading to figure out why people wrote that the series were good, and it got progressively worse, specially book 3. Book 4 was ok, because there at least the author made sure to finally manage to bring across that the alien in question actually does care about his mate, but seriously if he wailed on the already broken and fragile female character, I would just ask for a frigging refund. I absolutely did not like these series and I do not recommend it for anyone to read it.

Totally EXCELLENT 😁

As much as I Love Loki's stories, this one really has me absolutely Fascinated by the characters 😃. Our heroine is completely convinced that she's the way she is because of an chip and our Alpha finds himself unable to turn away from her chaos 😱. And Chaos is actually what makes it impossible to stop reading this story 😉. Thanks again Loki, you're truly my Favorite author and I ALWAYS keep my eyes open looking for your newest story 🤓.

Reseña – Primal de Loki Renard

⭐⭐☆☆☆

Paso total.

This was actually pretty tame for a Loki Renard book. I loved Thorn and his unrelenting pursuit of Suli whether she wanted it or not. He understood her needs and was very clear about the lengths he would take to fulfill them. For her part, I felt Sullivan was mostly unlikeable, but with some personal growth and the absence of some interfering tech, she became more of who she was always meant to be. As with all Loki Renard FMCs, the snark abounds, it's one of the things I love about her books.

As other reviewers have noted, there is a continuity issue where they went from running to throwing his "bike into a sliding halt..." and a couple of other little typos, all of which are fairly common with indie authors, even the continuity error.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

So many

Laugh out loud, HILARIOUS moments and one liners!!! I loved thorn, but the thorn in his side? Sulli never really grew as a character, she just stayed bratty and reckless to the end,and she never came to a "I love him" realization, which kind of spoiled the mood of the book for me. I just wanted her to act maturely and rationally. Maybe that is a *me* problem. So book two will involve characters introduced in this book, and I was wondering if another male character and any of the other female characters will comprise book three.....

Continuity problems.

It's been awhile since I've read a book by this author, but I don't remember them feeling so paint by numbers like this one. It had great potential but I struggled to keep reading, not only from the continuity issues...there just wasn't any genuine feeling behind it.

Okay 3.5 ⭐️’s

I’m sorry but Suli was insufferable! I kept reading because I am a trooper, and I liked Thorn, but Suli didn’t even redeem herself! She was awful, and unlikable, even when given the reasons for her actions it’s not enough. She was to extra to enjoy in my tiny insignificant opinion.

A lot of Steam and Fun 🤩

I really enjoyed this book- the banter between the main characters and all the heroine’s escape attempts. It was a plus that the heroine was In experienced. However I really wished there was a pregnancy at least hinted at the end. I will be definitely reading more from this series

Distracting Mistakes

I wanted to like this one, even if I didn't care for a protagonist that can't feel fear, but after reporting two consistency issues, I couldn't read on. These were jarring issues that changed the set up of the scene. I even reread to see if I'd missed something. I lost my desire to read on.

Very entertaining!

I enjoyed this book immensely and was very amused by all the escapes Sullivan attempted. I do think that Thorn had a great deal of patience when dealing with her lol and his punishments didn’t really have the effect he was hoping for. Watching their relationship develop was nice and I found the ending was really good.

omg wow

Space pirate vs alpha saurian male… the wild ride she leads him on as he chases the so called helpless human… I absolutely loved this story and hope there will be more than this and the next. Definitely a new fav author of sweet, hot, alien romances for me.

First in a series.

I enjoyed this story. Sullivan and Thorn are good characters. Thorn underestimates Sullivan because she is a "weak human". She is more ckever and respurceful than Thorn realizes. I like the plot and humor. There are steamy scenes.

I can always depend on Ms. Renard to deliver a story that's going to be entertaining, humorous, and spicy, and that's what this one is. I loved the characters. I loved the banter. I loved the pace, the excitement, and all the steamy goodness. It's a perfect weekend read.

Can't keep track of the writing

Some scenes replayed 3 times and others end in a way they weren't started, walked into the bar 3 times, chased on foot then is sliding on a bike suddenly.

Great start for a new series.

Funny and sexy. I love the humanoid-dinos or dino-humanoids, don't really know which way would be best. There were a few places in the book that was missing a few paragraphs and it confused me greatly.

Sassy, scared of nothing, hard-headed, and someone who might just be crazy doesn't even begin to explain this little female. She was amazing.

What a good little book this was, spicy, funny, and a quick read.

alpha meets alpha

Two very strong , controlling personalities crash together. Thorn proves he is the very dominant, smart prime alien. His understanding and acceptance of Suli’s strange, wildly brave and chaotic behavior is her ultimate capture. Highly recommend this story

I've read worse and that's the highest compliment I can pay this. Don't judge me, I'm just trying to catch up on the lofty reading goal I made back when I thought I would spend this year reading more than apparently watching Love Island and playing Animal Crossing.

Good

I always enjoy the author's view at different aspects of human nature. This time she focuses on fear. I don't always enjoy her FMCs, though. Why are they always such brats?

Oh my, this world is primal and I want more of it. Sullivan crashed and smashed her way through this world and found more than she thought she ever would. I loved this!
