Based on a real romance, Tempted tells what happens when relationships on Facebook & real life collide. Categorized as 'erotic romance' due to some raw & sexual content, Tempted explores how a modern woman deals with the complexities and confusion of online and in-person dating. It is packed with real people, real experiences, and real consequences...
Claire Eden desires nothing and no one. She has earned the world she’s created – a world she not only knows, but loves. Broadcasting her popular talk show from the comfort of her idyllic Marin county home, she spends her time working, contentedly frequenting her favorite haunts, socializing with her menagerie of pets, and trolling Facebook.
The last thing she was looking for was romantic love...until she found herself distractingly and deliciously tempted by a pair of dreamboats – one who arrives on her doorstep from the past, the other, an irresistible force from the other side of the country.
C.J. Paul is a published author of fiction, non-fiction, and a bawdy cookbook. Inspired by messages and posts from real social media accounts, Paul has based the Conquered series on actual events and online interaction, candidly sharing a tale of intense desire and timeless love that conquers all.
We live in a sexually-influenced and social-media driven society, where people and situations aren't validated or considered important until they have been confirmed on Facebook or Twitter. Finally, writer CJ Paul has found the harmonious balance of erotic and intellectual stimulation for the social networker in the first installment of the Conquered Trilogy- Tempted. This deliciously wicked story chronicles the life of its heroine- the tea and scone worshipping, Facebook devotee- Claire Eden, while she navigates the proverbial rocky waters of relationships amid professional and personal tragedies- and the men she encounters along the way. Paul has created a socially interactive world for readers, who can "friend" the characters on Facebook, and bear witness to their ever evolving lives. No longer will a reader close a book and wonder what happened after "the end." Now, the story never has to end. It is a living, breathing entity which captivates and arouses not only the libido but all the senses, catipulting the reader into a sublimely potent experience that could only be considered tantric. Experience the romantic and erotic tale for yourself. You may never view chatting on FB the same again.
I have been Tempted, it was fantastic while it lasted with my every moment being consumed with turning pages and gushing to all who would listen, loved the humor, was deeply moved by CJ's symphony of words, there is absolutely nothing that can come close to a seduction of the mind and CJ has achieved this beautifully. I am in awe of the skill and talent with my only disappointment being that I have finished the book and am once again thrust back into a literary black hole - that is until Bound is released! I have found myself shamefully stalking Alex & Claire's Facebook pages, and my mind continues to reel at just how complex the web you have spun actually is. I am singing your praises from the mountain tops to all who will listen and have found your seductive words are contagious. Am enormous thanks to you for the light you have provided in my life over the last few days, I can see this will soon be a book that I stop being truthful about how many times I have read it! Simply loved every, single word.
I would have loved to give this a higher rating, the words of Alex (our hero?) are exquisite and the fact the Claire is more of a real woman physically than most female protagonists is wonderful.
My complaints are that there are too many unexplained details that I wanted to know more about and in all fairness maybe we'll learn them as the series progresses. Also, reactions of some of the characters just seem too often contrived and unbelievable; again if there would have been more detail about their reactions and character development/back story perhaps I wouldn't have felt this way.
Still a wonderful story, and I am certainly looking forward to the next one in the series.
This is a very good book, & should be a New York Times best seller book. Even though erotic books are not my thing, this book was a must and hard to put down.
Tempted is so much more than just another erotic fiction novel. I found myself irrevocably drawn into this story that is so full of beautiful prose and wickedly delicious interactions between Claire and her leading men. These richly vibrant characters are people that we all know and can relate to in our lives. I was able to laugh and cry, be angry and happy, be filled with hope and disappointment with them as though we were friends. The exchanges between Claire and Alexander were so exquisitely written that they cascaded over me like honey making me needy and wanton...for more! I am, as Claire, not so patiently awaiting the second installment, Bound, to be released. But I send my sincerest thanks and love to CJ Paul for partaking in this adventure into this genre!
