Searching for Tomorrow

Rate this book

Some people are blessed to find that one certain person who completes them.

Wrynn’s yesterdays were what others only dream of having. She and Tripp were the best of friends before they even thought about love. They had the fairy tale life where ‘like’ turns into ‘love’, and ‘love’ becomes ‘happily ever after’.

What happens when life conspires against you, and snatches your soul mate from your arms?

…only her forever love ended much too soon.

Broken beyond her own ability to repair, Wrynn boxes up her grief and attempts to raise her three girls the best she can on her own. As time slowly passes, Wrynn relives her life with Tripp while struggling most days to get out of bed. She is reminded of him at every turn.

How do you set your grief and anguish aside? How do you pick up the shattered pieces, put those pieces back together again, and try to move on?

Wrynn tries to find the joy in life every single day through her daughters, family, and friends. Her twin brother Liam has dedicated himself to helping Wrynn put her life back together after losing his own love. On the other hand, her mother-in-law lives to torment her at every turn. Wrynn can't even find a chance to breathe, much less a desire to somehow search for her tomorrow.

4.5 beautiful story with a huge wowzer stars

Expectations. We all have them. We expect so many things from life. But when it comes to a book and the blurb you expect for a book to be a certain way. So I knew this book was going to break my heart. It's a story of lost love. Not just any love, but wicked, epic love that is once in a life time love. Who wouldn't get their heart broken when reading a story about that kind of lost love. But it really surprised me because it had so many things I wasn't expecting it to have.

So she takes us on a journey of a single mom who is trying to raise her 3 beautiful girls, deal with the wicked bitch of a mother in law. She has an amazing support system with her parents and her twin brother. But she is still stuck. She hasn't moved on and she is still plagued by the past and the future she will never have.

The book is written in the present and then takes up back to the past to explain how the love turned from friendship to soul mate love. She did this smoothly. I enjoyed reading about the journey they had to take in order for their love to blossom.

This book is a beautiful story that is real and happens daily. It's a sad story, one that will make you cry and wish you could make your heart from hurting so damn much.

I think it hurt so bad because things like this happen in the world right now. Men are fighting for this country and the women sit at home waiting and hoping they will come home. Some do and some don't. That is the military wife's reality.

AND IT SUCKS BIG ASS BALLS.

So it progresses and we learn so much as to why Wrynn can't move one and what exactly she is going threw. She had her best friend, her soul mate, her husband, her girls father taken from her. At times it was just so real that I had to take a moment and breath.

She throws a couple of moments at us that left me with my mouth open and catching flies. There is one that I so didn't see coming. Like no way did I see that shit happening.

No I am giving this book 4.5 stars because I couldn't really get on board with the relationship between Liam and Wrynn. I know they are twins and they are super duper close, but she kept calling them her boys and I just couldn't get into it. I also felt like the ending was a bit rushed. I would have liked a bit more explanation and maybe a longer epilogue. I'm hoping for a book 2 that might explain a bit more what happened in the end.  But with that being said, the rest of the book grabbed a hold of me and I love it.

What a wonderful debut novel by Kathryn Crane.

**** EROTICA BOOK CLUB REVIEW ****

SEARCHING FOR TOMORROW

By Kathryn M. Crane

Wrynn and Liam are twins and they become friends with Tripp when they are children as they grow up they become inseparable so its no surprise that Wrynn and Tripp fall in love. They get married and have 3 beautiful girls but when Tripp is taken from them it leaves Wrynn devastated and barley functioning at least she has her twin brother Liam to rely on.

This switches from the present with Wrynn only just coping with life and a mother in law from hell to the past when she is telling us ubout her life with Tripp right up to the present.

This is a heart wrenching read and be warned you will need lots of tissues by the time you get to the end. I basically cried all the way through it and nearer the end the ugly crying started and I have never ever cried like that about a book in my life to date. I must admit that I wanted to hunt the author down at certain points ;)

I jumped in blind to this one so I was not prepared for it at all. Saying that I loved this story it's very romantic with a little twist that I did not see coming...

I love the characters and hated the MIL she needs a good slap! I really liked Liam as well as Tripp they are great guys and I have to admire Wrynn she is so strong i really don't know how I would have coped if I were in her shoes. I really got swept into the story and a certain points I wanted to put it down and not ever finish it because my heart was breaking but I was determined to finish it and I am so glad I did. This is one of the best books I have read this year and I still feel very affected by this story even now that I have finished it.

I received an ARC copy from the author in exchange for an honest review and with this being her first book she has done a fabulous job!

5 stars for Amazon & 5 for Goodreads

I fell in love with the idea of Wrynn and Tripp years ago, but only began to write about their amazing love 9 months ago. The surprising thing for me is that this didn't go as planned. Things changed as the characters grew and developed, and the end picture is vastly different than the beginning one. I hope you've enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed dreaming it. Thanks for stopping by!

Wow!! Okay - I just purchased this book the day it came out and I have to say - with my TBR list being what it is, and how long some of the books have been on there collecting dust I surely didn't expect that I would get to this book anytime soon - but my friend Amber Nation recommended it and I trust her judgment so much, so I thought, what the heck? I'll skim through the first two pages at least to see how far up on my TBR list I should put it. Well, that's all she wrote because from the third page into it, this girl was hooked!! Step aside all those others on the TBR list! I'm sorry, but this one blew them ALL away!!

Had I not been aware that this book is author Kathryn Crane's debut novel, I never, ever would've believed it. The character development was exquisite! The plot flowed smoothly and I FELT for the H immediately. I don't want to give the story away, but suffice it to say, there are some very 'blow-you-away' moments.

It is heart-felt and it is REAL. The setting is well-described and the author makes you feel like you're at the movies, watching it all unfold with just enough back-story to clue you in. This book IS NOT a cookie-cutter book where she woke up one day and said, "Hmmm ... "I think I'll write a book like ____________ today, just change some dialogue here and there, add some superficial plots where necessary and I'm done. NO WAY!

This author made this book her own and no one else's! What a refreshing escape it presented for me and heart-wrenching at times, I was INVESTED in it. I can't say I've read a book that's moved me like this book did since - well? I don't know WHEN! Will definitely be reading more of Kate's books!

Kudos, Kate! You've arrived and are quite a breath of fresh air! You done good girl as we say here on the Ohio River and we wantin' more!!!

"You're my everything. You're the reason I breathe, the reason I live. I can't imagine my life without you. I've loved you forever, and that love will never die."

Honestly this deserves more than 5 stars and I hope that one day we get the option to rate more than 5 stars for authors.

How can I explain this story without giving away a whole lot, because honestly the reader needs to feel the full effect of this story without and spoiler’s in my opinion. So with that said let’s see what I can do without spoiling this for anyone.

This story is going to pull you in from the first few pages. You will experience some true emotions with this story. Those emotions being, loss, heartache, love. You will experience the true meaning of family and of friendship. Definitely make sure that you have some tissues handy because you surely are going to need them.

Kathryn’s debut novel is breathtaking. I can tell you that it left a mark in my heart that will be there for the rest of my life.

Wrynn and Liam are twins who become friends with Tripp in grade school. The three of them become best friends, always spending time together whenever they can. Tripp’s mother is definitely not the best mother in the world. She is a snot nose upper class B****, and anytime Tripp can he is at Wrynn and Liam’s house with them. Their parents are the greatest and bring Tripp in and except them into their family like one of their own.

As they all grow up friendship between Wrynn and Tripp turns into love. One amazing true love story develops. The love between Tripp and Wrynn is truly a one of a kind. I love how Kathryn showed us just how much they meant to each other with the past playing out in the story.
Wrynn having to deal with the outcome of a tragedy, and keep herself together for their children was truly amazing. Honestly I don’t know how she did it.

"Tripp was my best friend, my lover, my confidant, my soul mate. He was the salt to my pepper. He was the peanut butter to my chocolate, and he alone brought me love and hope and joy. Together we created our three beautiful girls and together we looked at the world as ours to conquer. In short, he was my other half, the part that completed me."

That’s all your going to get from me. I truly don’t want to ruin it for anyone, I can not even go so far as to tell you if there is an HEA or not. You truly need to experience this book from beginning to end without the spoilers in between to get the full effect of what you are reading. I will say that there is a Big twist that comes into play towards the end of the book.

Kathryn thank you for sharing your story with us. Thank you for showing us what military people go through everyday. I know from experience that being a military wife is not an easy task, that it is not all butterflies and rainbows. Hopefully other’s will have a better understanding of what our military men sacrifice for us everyday after reading this story.

So, cuz I'm a chicken, I went and found out spoilers about this book and I love the sound it :)

Sometimes you are lucky enough to come across a book that touches your heart. Or as my niece would phrase it...cause you to have feels. This book was so much more than I expected, and I thought it was spelled out for me in the synopsis.

"What happens when life conspires against you, and snatches your soul mate from your arms?

…only her forever love ended much too soon."

Knowing that I was going to be reading about a woman who not only lost her husband but the father of her children still did not prepare me for the amount of tears I was going to shed. Reading about a family doing their best to move on after something so tragic nearly killed me. I have to say that I love the way Kathryn moved the book from past to present...it made getting to know Wrynn a lot easier.

I have to also take a minute to say that Tripp and Wrynn may be one of my favorite fictional couples ever! Their relationship is not always perfect, but it is real. Even though the sex scenes are not graphic as most readers have become used to it's really not needed. This relationship is full of promise and hope...and it's easy to see that they truly are soul mates.

The hardest parts to take are the parts you would expect. Even though there are tears every single one is worth it. There is no cliff hanger but I will be honest in saying that this book leaves you wanting more! More of Tripp, Wrynn, Liam, Annie, Bekah, Maggie, and the rest of the family. This book is a million star read! I can't remember the last time I loved one this much!

Kathryn M. Crane...you are a feckin' superstar! I am honored that you let me read your book and I will be stalking Amazon as soon as you hit publish so that I can also have the honor of being the first person to one-click it. Congratulations on making such an amazing piece of art. You, my dear, are made of pure magic :)

Hmm...what to say, what to say? I don't know if I can find the proper words that would give Searching for Tomorrow the credit that it deserves!

Honestly, when I began reading this novel, I didn't know what to expect. I felt so many emotions while reading this book. The story itself was very unique and nothing like I have read before. It is certainly not your typical love story. The story flips from past to present every other chapter. The story in the past tense is a reflection of Wrynn, Tripp, and Liam's past. The past went all the way back to when they were children and first met. Wrynn and Liam are twins and Tripp might as well be considered their brother from another mother. Since the first day that they met on the playground, they were inseparable. Of course as fate would have it, Wrynn and Tripp fell in love and promised each other forever. Wrynn and Tripp were a match made in heaven..their love for each other was so genuine and pure..absolutely beautiful.

What's makes this story unique is that the novel begins in the present tense where Wrynn is reflecting upon her past when she was married to Tripp. Tripp was killed in action. You never got to read part of the story of Tripp in the present tense, but you get the opportunity to know him from when Wrynn reflects in the past tense. Tripp is every girl's dream man. He is kind, considerate, and absolutely devoted to Wrynn. When the story refers to the present tense, you are able to feel compassion for what a military spouse goes through and the grief a family must over come when a loved one is lost. I must warn you that there is a SEVERE plot twist in this story, but I LOVED the outcome! I really didn't want this story to end. I highly recommend it! If I could choose one word to describe Searching for Tomorrow it would be emotional.

1 Star for the past, 3 stars for the present

This book was written in past and present format, I LOVE past and present format when it is done well (who wouldn’t). I’m sad to say this past and present format was not done well AT ALL. The past chapters were so boring, I actually skimmed through them a lot (I NEVER skim). The author would spend a full paragraph going into unneeded details about nothing. For example at one point she went on about how Wrynn’s husband’s sweater smells. GAH. Skimmmmmm for sure! I did not need that information. Just let me get to the good stuff. That information is not necessary for the plot of the story.

Searching for Tomorrow is a beautiful story about a mom who is widowed and is trying to survive life without her soul mate. Wrynn and Tripp were soul mates I understood that into the first few chapters I read in the present form. This was easy to understand just by reading the pain Wrynn was in over the loss of Tripp. This is why I didn’t feel like the past chapters were needed. The author, Kathryn, did such a great job capturing Wrynn & Tripp’s connection through Wrynn’s pain that the past chapters weren’t needed. I never once skimmed the present chapters because they were so well written. The depth that we get into Wrynn as she struggles with day-to-day life is something that we can all relate to.

I can’t say if this book has HEA or not, I can’t tell you if Wrynn pulls out of her depression and stop’s searching for tomorrow. What I will say is read this book but I’ve given you a pass to read over the past chapters they really aren’t needed and at times made Wrynn and Trips relationship feel very juvenile. Just read the present chapters that’s where the beauty of this story is.

I'm absolutely amazed by this book. Books rarely surprise me anymore, but this one did. Nothing about it was what I expected including the ending. Going into it I knew it was going to be an emotional and difficult read from the synopsis alone. This story is full of heart wrenching pain, hope, loss, and healing. It's a book about real life and all the pain and love that comes with it. Wrynn's tragic love story immediately captured my attention with the beautiful and detailed writing style. It's one of those books that you keep glancing to the percentage in the lower corner of your kindle silently wishing the book to last just a little longer because you aren't ready for it to end.

Wrynn has had everything we hope to ever have in our lives... a true and honest love, a wonderful family, beautiful children, and an all around happy existence. Then one day her life is shattered as she receives news of her husband's death. Three years later and Wrynn is just going through the motions trying to survive and raise her three daughters. Wrynn was such a great character and so strong under her fragile exterior. I fell in love with her and my heart broke right along side her as she struggled to find peace without the other half of her heart. Her story is told in past and present so we get to know her from a young age and experience all the joy, pain, and struggles thrown at her.

Kathryn McNeill Crane does a beautiful job with this story and successfully broke my heart into a million pieces and then somehow put it all back together before I knew what was going on.

Searching for Tomorrow by Kathryn M. Crane

Debut author Kathryn Crane has written a beautiful, heartfelt, amazing novel. This story is not only well written its unbelievable amazing it stirred up a lot of emotions while reading and I was truly heartbroken for the main character Wrynn. Kathryn Crane’s writing is phenomenal, her characters and plot were well written, and she tell this story filling us in on the past and present.

We meet Wrynn and Tripp who are true soul mates, meeting at a young age, growing up together and then naturally falling in love and starting a family …it’s an amazing love story. But what happens when the loss and grief of losing that loved one consumes you and you’re not sure you can move forward.

Read this fantastic novel and see for yourself how Wrynn begins to take the steps forward to live again.

I have rated Searching for Tomorrow a 5 star rating, I loved this novel and the authors writing was great you will not be disappointed. I would recommend this novel to anyone who reads!

I couldn't wait to one click this book!! I had been waiting and let me tell you it was worth the wait! I knew this was gonna be a tear jerker but man i needed a box of tissues not just a few. Katie pulls you in with her writing style. The closeness of Liam and Wrynn is wonderful. I think everyone would love a relationship like that with a sibling. Then throw in Tripp. I loved how he loved Wrynn. He would do anything to keep her safe. "I love you Wrynn, and I will till my dying day." The rings, the flowers..everything about them just makes my heart melt. Katie you did an amazing job on this book and I cant wait to get to read your next book!!!

I liked the MCs and the relationship between Wrynn and her brother was very sweet. Watching Wrynn and her daughters cope with a horrible tragedy was heartwarming but overall, this was kinda boring. It felt like I was reading just a lot of mundane life stuff but in the face of tragedy. I kept waiting for something to happen in the story but that didn't happen till 87% and even then, it was kinda anticlimatic.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

A few months ago, in one of my many perusings through Goodreads, I stumbled upon this book. I will full admit that I am a judge a book by its cover kind of gal. If the cover doesn’t attract me, I won’t go any further to read the synopsis, much less the book. Needless to say, this cover immediately grabbed my attention. Having lived in North Carolina my entire life, a quality I have in common with the author, I recognized the beautiful backdrop of the mountains. I’ve seen that view, felt and experienced it, and could sense in my soul that this book would be something magnificent. Something soul shattering, life affirming, and heart wrenchingly beautiful. I had high expectations.

Not only was I NOT disappointed, but it far exceeded every preconceived notion I may have formed.

A fleeting thought in my scattered mind reminds me that this weakness is only temporary. I live each day just trying to cope, wanting to heal. I know this feeling of despair won’t last forever.

What I am about to reveal is NOT a spoiler. You find this information out in the first few pages. It will shape the rest of the book and would be impossible to go any further without discussing it. Searching for Tomorrow is about a widowed wife of a soldier, a single mother, a sister, and a friend. Barely functioning for the past three years, Wrynn isn’t living; she is merely surviving. This is a romance novel in its finest form, but not in the conventional way you may be used to.

Wrynn and Tripp have been together, be it friends or eventually husband and wife, since they were young kids. We alternate POV’s not between different characters, but different time frames. One part of the story is pre-Tripp’s death and the other is post-Tripp’s death. They are told simultaneously, and if you live books and characters as I do, be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster. When both parts collide, one story ends and another begins. Butterflies, rage, shock, love, devastation, disgust, sympathy, hope. I experienced all of these and more; many at the same time!

“You’ll see babe. This isn’t the beginning of the end. It’s just the beginning. I plan to shed tears with you, but only for the good things.”

There are basically four things allowing Wrynn to exist and trudge on; her three daughters, and her twin brother Liam. Wrynn’s daughters are the only bright spots in her otherwise dimly lit days. She is living in a haze, swallowed up and consumed by her overwhelming grief. Katie Mac writes with a fluidity that forces you to encompass these emotions right along with Wrynn. This isn’t just a story about Wrynn, it is a story about you. Searching for Tomorrow will make you take a long hard look in the mirror and question everything. Am I doing enough good in this world? What if I lost my spouse? How would I go on each day living? What would I do if my kids had to grow up without a father? Could I be doing more? Do I tell close friends and family how much I appreciate them and love them enough?

I looked into the eyes of my future, and knew that tomorrow would only get better from here.

Searching for Tomorrow contains some HEAVY material. Parts won’t be easy to read, especially knowing from the beginning what will happen eventually. I came to the realization when it was all over that even knowing the final outcome doesn’t lessen the journey. If anything, knowing ahead of time what was coming only heightened every experience for me. I zoned in more to little details, treasured each heartwarming moment, for which this book was chock FULL of! The hard truths of this story, however, are very real for many, many families. Having never been through anything remotely close to what these characters go through makes no difference in understanding the depths and range of emotions that they feel. I was able to sympathize and rejoice along with them on a purely human level. When Wrynn cried, I cried. When she felt joy, I felt it too. And when all hope was lost, I felt despair the likes of which I’ve never experienced before.

As they wrapped tightly around me, one distinct thought passed through my mind. Home. No matter where we were, or where life took us, when I was in his arms, I was home.

The love that Tripp and Wrynn share is so pure. If I had to think of one word to describe it, that would be it. From decisions they make before they are married, to having the girls, to be separated during deployments. Their proposal? Oh, just you wait. Katie describes every detail of that day so well you can literally smell every flower, feel every drop of mist from the falls, and taste each kiss. There is realism in her imagery that comes from someone who has had these experiences, or in the least been to these locations. She allows you to visit the beautiful mountains of North Carolina without ever having to leave your house. These two LIVE for each other, heart and soul. It is hard to tell where one begins and one ends. This is glaringly evident in every scene they are in, whether it be together or apart.

There is one other important man in Wrynn’s life that I haven’t mentioned yet; her twin brother Liam. While Tripp is the main man in her life in one part of the story, Liam is the man in the other. The relationship between these two will make your heart melt! The protectiveness, the fight, the undying love, the friendship, these two have it all. When Wrynn falls, Liam is there to catch her. He brings a sense of normality to her otherwise chaotic and lifeless existence. There is a delicious side story going on with Liam. While we only see bits and pieces of it, have no fear. There will be a second book for him soon.

When you kiss them goodnight, my lips will touch yours. When you hold them close, my arms will embrace you. The wind in your hair will be my fingers running through it. The warmth of the sun will be my love shining down.

Searching for Tomorrow is a story that everyone should read. No, not should read, NEEDS to read! It would be impossible to pigeonhole this novel into one genre for it spans across many, combining truths known to many. Katie has woven a tale that will touch so many hearts, young and old alike, no matter their road in life. It brings validity to the belief that there is hope to find your everlasting love; no matter how old you are, no matter what life throws at you. Things may happen in your life that at the time bear no rhyme or reason, but hold out hope, because even in your darkest moments, it is still possible to find your happily ever after. I don’t cry too often while reading books, but this one brought me to tears multiple times, both happy and sad. Adjectives haven’t yet been invented that can adequately describe how I feel about it! To give this book 5 stars would be doing it a disservice, for it deserves so much more. I am going to give it 10 stars. My first ever ‘so nice I rated it twice’ book. A truly phenomenal read by debut author Katie Mac, I lovingly anticipate her future releases. Well done ma’am, well done.

It’s hard to search for tomorrow when you are still living for yesterday. Sometimes you have to accept that today is all that is guaranteed.

*A copy of this book was kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

I've been sitting here contemplating how to start this review. I want to do it justice. I want to give you enough information that you have no doubt about adding this to your collection. Searching for Tomorrow is Kathryn M. Crane's debut novel about picking up the pieces and moving on after losing the love of your life.

Wrynn was one of the lucky ones, she married her best friend, Tripp.

"Who is Tripp? That is easy to explain. Tripp was my best friend, my lover, my confidant, my soul mate." - Wrynn

Wrynn and her twin brother, Liam, were born and raised in Highlands, NC. They both meet Tripp on the first day of third grade. Channing aka Tripp moved to Highlands after the death of his father. Tripp and his mother lived in a better part of town and his mother frowned upon him playing with Wrynn and Liam. To say Tripp's mother had issues would be an understatement and because of her Tripp spent the majority of his childhood in Wrynn and Liam's home. Their family treated him as one of them and he never left. I found the friendship between the three of them to so endearing and I could tell they truly loved and cared for each other. Wrynn refers to them in the book as "my boys" and that's exactly what they were. They were not only her friends but her protectors.

Wrynn and Tripp were seniors when 9-11 occurred. It had a profound effect on Tripp and it changed him. This lead to Tripp deciding that his future would include defending his country. So on his 18th birthday he did two things.

First, he enlisted in the Army.

Second, he proposed to Wrynn.

By far one of the most beautiful, poignant, mushy, loving proposals. I cried pretty much through the whole thing. Wrynn struggled with Tripp's decision to enlist. She didn't want to be without him and she was terrified what this future would hold.

"You're my everything. You're the reason I breathe, the reason I live. I can't imagine my life without you. I've loved you forever and that love will never die." - Tripp

I'm sure you see where this is going. Tripp is killed while on deployment just a few weeks before his and Wrynn's third child is born.

Searching for Tomorrow is written in alternating past and present. This sometimes bothers me as I find that I prefer one over the other and I don't want to jump around. That is not that case with this story. Allowing us glimpses of the relationship between Tripp and Wrynn is so integral to the story. The present is 3 years after his death. We find Wrynn struggling to live. Struggling is not even a good word. She was the living embodiment of anguish and pain. Her loss is so deep that she's drowning in it. If you've ever suffered from depression, I can guarantee you will find a kindred spirit in Wrynn. I have struggled with anxiety and depression and the author hit it right on the head. I found myself choking back tears of understanding as I read about Wrynn's day to day struggles. Raising three daughters alone when she doesn't want to go on herself. The struggle to get up every day and take care of someone other than herself, feed them, bathe them, care for them. She in no way neglected them. As she so lovingly called them, they were her "three heartbeats". They were her three reasons for living.

Liam is there for Wrynn in many ways. I thought his character was so amazing. He's there for his sister, sharing in her grief, and trying to be an uncle to those three little girls. Being they are twins, I could definitely understand the closeness they had. They had a bond that I don't think a lot of people would understand. Liam lived in Wrynn's basement and would often help her by taking the girls to school, or fixing things around the house. I found myself being reminded several times that he suffered and incredible loss as well. Tripp wasn't just his best friend, he was his brother. I believe there is definitely more to Liam's story than we were told and I'm hoping that means there will be a second book.

"I grab Liam in a big hug and squeeze him tight. As my throat tightens and tears threaten, I whisper, "Thanks, Bubby. You take such good care of my girls and me. I love you so much, and I just don't know what I would do without you." - Wrynn

Wrynn's light is her girls.

"Sarah Margaret is two and a half, and she reminds me of a woodland sprite. She's almost fairy-like with her head full of beautiful caramel blonde curls and the largest, brightest green eyes that always sparkle with laughter, wonder, and mischief."

"Lest I forget, munchkin number two is my Rebekah Elizabeth and she is by far the most serious six-year-old I have ever encountered. I swear that sometimes I catch glimpses of small frown lines forming between those piercing yellow-green eyes."

"As my oldest child, Anne Marie is the only one of my girls who is old enough to remember all the twists and turns that life has brought our way these past several years. When I look into her turquoise eyes, I see the remnants of an old soul peeking back at me."

I loved loved loved the moments between Wrynn and her "three heartbeats". They were honest and true. She loves her children fiercely and it's so evident in every interaction she has with them. I found myself smiling several times as I was reading about them. As a mother of three myself, this was just another way to connect with this story. My husband did not join military however, both of our fathers were in the Army and we grew up in that world never knowing if our dad would come home. Now that my father is gone, I wish he could not only see me but all of his grandchildren as they continue to grow into these amazing little people. It's a loss I feel every day.

There are definitely other bits and pieces that factor into the story. Wrynn's mother in-law Mother Tidwell is a horrendous woman who makes Wrynn's life hell. She's really something but I can't and don't want to explain more as it will ruin things.

I'm thinking that my understanding of the military life as well as my struggles with anxiety and depression are what made this story so much more for me. I felt a deep connection to everything and I struggled with my own emotions throughout the entire book. This is absolutely a story for everyone. This is a story about love. Love for your country. Love for your family. Love for your children. Love for your soul-mate.

"I have loved you with an everlasting love." - Tripp

This is a story about tomorrows. What does tomorrow mean to you? Do you live for tomorrow? Do you plan your tomorrows?

"My name is Amelia Wrynn Broun Tidwell, buy family and friends know me as Wrynn, and I am the mother of those three adorable munchkins. Though I was born and raised on the other side of nowhere, I have lived, loved, and lost more in my twenty-nine years than most people do in a lifetime. Blessed to find my one true love at a very young age, life conspired against me when it took my Tripp from me."

Searching for Tomorrow will definitely show you how to embrace your tomorrow.

Searching for Tomorrow by Kathryn McNeill Crane is 5 Heartbreakingly, Beautiful Hearts. This is the author’s debut novel and she conquers contemporary romance with a vengeance with her fresh new voice. This is such a beautiful story about first and true love. It shows that with strength and commitment, love can truly overcome the most difficult and trying obstacles. Love helps you push through and carries you when you are at your lowest moments.

I love how the author has written this book in both the past and the present. We see her today as she journeys through her grief and heals and gains strength. But concurrently, we get to see Wrynn and Tripp’s journey as first, childhood playmates, best friends, and then eventually a couple. You can’t help but fall in love with these two. You get to experience first love through them. It is such a true and beautiful love. Their love for each other is so special and precious since they are the only love the other has known.

In order to pull this great story together, the author created fabulous characters. What can I say about them but, love, love, love them! Well, all of them except for one…Mrs. Tidwell or Mother Tidwell as Wrynn is made to call her. I absolutely loathe this woman. She is rude, hateful, and stuck up. She is without any redeeming qualities. She has always been an awful mother to Tripp and she is even more awful to Wrynn and her family. More than once I wanted to slap this lady.

Everyone else in the story is just awesome! Let’s start with Wrynn. She is someone that I believe every woman can identify with at some point. Whether it is the love sick teenager, the determined wife, pregnant mother to be, or the harried mother, the author captures the essence of what it is to be a woman in this one character. My heart breaks for Wrynn and her three little girls. After her husband, Tripp, dies during a mission for the Army, she is broken. He was her best friend. Her soul mate. Her everything. Her dreams die with him. The magnitude of her grief is felt so heavily as she tries to go through the motions of everyday life. It is for her girls, her 3 heartbeats as she calls them, that she struggles to heal and have a semblance of a normal life.

Tripp is every girl’s dream come true. He is everything you want in a boyfriend or husband. He lives for Wrynn and dotes on her. Once he becomes a father, he just melts your heart. His love for his babies is so sweet. Within himself, he feels the need to protect and serve, not only his family, but also the country. His drive and commitment to the Army is very commendable. Through the two, we witness the hardships of being a military family.

Then we have Liam, Wrynn’s twin brother and Tripp’s best friend. I absolutely adore Liam. He is such a good guy. I know that this is Wrynn and Tripp’s story, but I wish we could have seen a little more of Liam’s side of things. But, that’s what the second book of the series is for! (Eep! I can hardly wait!) Anyway, he is such a good brother. He is always there for Wrynn as a best friend, baby sitter, protector, or, my favorite, spider killer. (I totally share Wrynn’s fear of those 8 legged creatures!) I can’t wait to get to know him some more.

Liam and Wrynn’s parents are the glue for these characters. They hold them together and are always there for them. Where Tripp’s mother was lacking (in everything,) they picked up the slack and basically raised him as their own. They are such wonderful people and role models. I love how they instilled morals in all three of them, and gently, guided them to always do right.

This is story telling at its finest. Kathryn McNeill Crane has a beautiful way of tearing your heart out and ripping it to shreds, but at the same time building it up and making you fall in love. I was totally shattered one minute, laughing another. This is a story about life. It can be messy, hard, and complicated, and no matter how much you would like it to just stop or go back, it just keeps moving and sweeping you along. This also reminds us that during the hard times, there are also moments of unspeakable joy; you just have to let yourself see them. This isn’t a book that you should just add to your “to be read” list and read later, It is a “move it to the top, gotta read it now” book!

**JODIE’S REVIEW**

“Each memory, every dream, carries me back to the very day that my soul seeks, yet pushes me to search for tomorrow.”

I read the blurb and I was ready, I knew I was in for emotional roller coaster. But I was not expecting what I got. This is a love story unlike any love story. This is that fairy tale, soul mate, never to be replaced love story. The once in a lifetime love. So yes I was in for a big heart break and I knew it by Chapter 3. I never wanted to make my heart not feel as much as I did reading a couple chapters in this book.

“I was sure that my eyes were swollen, my nose was red, and my cheeks puffy from all the tears I had shed.”

Okay so ….

“I mean, really, a few tears or sniffles are one thing, but you were sobbing. I think you call it ‘ugly crying.”

Kathryn started this book like a journey, I actually could see myself. But this journey was of a single mom who is trying to raise her three beautifully unique little girls. All while she is stuck in the past, stuck with this reality that she never thought would come. Stuck disbelieving what her life is.

“I’ve had the fairy tale life, where like turns into love, and love becomes happily ever after, only my forever love ended much too soon. My one plus one should equal five, not four.”

This book was written in the present but took you back to the past to really explain this love story and how friendship became this move the world love story. At times I thought the past made it a little slow and I found myself desperately wanting to be in the present. But I got it we needed the build up, we needed to grow in love with this couple. I think what hurt me the most is that this is a story that happens daily. There are women out there that live this life, all well their husbands fight for my freedom.

“September eleventh seemed to draw American citizens together. Personal differences, political disparities, and even religious affiliations seemed to be put aside, and America once again truly seemed to be ‘one nation, under God, indivisible’.

“These very events were responsible for the fact that my Tripp had met with an Army recruiter.”

As the story goes we learn this along with other reasons Wrynn can’t move on. It was also at this point I realized how strong she truly was as a character and how much I admired her strength, her love and her loyalty. This was a woman who had lost her soul mate, her best friend and the father of her babies. Yet she still had a smile for them and she dealt with maybe the most hateful mother in law I have even read in a book. Seriously, I hated the woman.

“Hate? I don’t hate you, child. I loathe you.”

That is true I did loathe her, from the bottom of my heart I loathed that woman. But she also had one of the greatest supporters, her twin brother Liam.

“One thing I can say about Liam is that he is the sweetest, humblest, most sincere man any woman would be lucky to have.”

I adored this relationship because it was so similar to my relationship with my brother. They are best friends, each others shoulder and I think he is the only reason Wrynn didn’t crumble.

In all this is a book I am so glad I was asked to review because its one I am not sure I would have jumped into. The blurb depressed me. Kathryn blindsided me a couple times, she made me mouth drop open, and she definitely got me to say LIKE HELL!!

But this leads me to why I gave it 4 stars instead of five since I LOVED IT so much!! Well you see there was this problem with the ending I felt like it was rushed and I found it unbelievable in some ways. I guess what I really need was more explaining in the epilogue. I wanted it to be longer or even before the epilogue maybe another chapter. I want to put so much more in this review but I also want you to read it and not let me spoil it.

“You’re my everything. You’re the reason I breathe, the reason I live. I can’t imagine my life without you. I’ve loved you forever, and that love will never die.”

Honestly this is things that I think Disney makes movie about, this is the epic love, the one that gives you goosebumps. I have to say it was amazing debut novel by Kathryn Crane and now I am hoping for Liam’s book.

5 BEAUTIFUL TRUE LOVE STARS!

description

I love when I discover a book that completely moves me and deeply reassures my belief in true everlasting love... Searching for Tomorrow was exactly that kind of book for me.♥

Losing a love one is one of the hardest things a person has to go through and this book describes exactly that and more. Wrynn found her other half very soon in life and because of that she should have only seen happiness in her future. But life didn't turn out that way and her soulmate was taken away from her too soon leaving her absolutely broken and not ready to raise three daughters on her own.

This book was written beautifully with interchangeable chapters from the past and present. Wrynn's past represents the happiest times of her life; times of falling in love and making unforgettable memories, commitments, and promises. Now her present represents deep anguish and uncertainty. She wants to become whole again yet struggles greatly. But how can she be complete again when her other half is missing?

Such an emotional book. Yes, there's a sad component to the story but it never overpowered the moments of romance and genuine connection between Wrynn and Tripp. Actually, those moments were the best because they showed the purest, sweetest, and most beautiful love between two people that were so meant for one another. I think the suffering made me appreciate the story, the characters, and the ending a hundred times more and I totally loved that!

Now the characters... Wrynn and Tripp were captivating and admirable. Their story is so real (yes, it happens all the time in real life) that it is truly heartfelt. It's amazing what these characters have to go through and the sacrifices they have to make and for that I fell in love with their story. Moreover, what I loved the most about this book is the undeniable everlasting love Wrynn and Tripp share, it's simply beyond beautiful.

A gorgeous story indeed. And a story like this one is definitely more enjoyable if you can stay away from spoilers. If you do, you will fall in love much harder with the story and applaud the ending more intensively. I did and I enjoyed every little piece of this book. :)

So I recommend this book to all hopeless romantics as it is a true marvelous love story!♥

Favorite Quotes:

"He was my other half, the part that completed me. His absence is the reason that I will never be whole again."

"I saw my future sitting right beside me, and I knew without a doubt that he was all of my tomorrows."

"You're my everything. You're my reason I breathe, the reason I live. I can't imagine my life without you. I've loved you forever, and that love will never die."

"I want you to know that, even during the times that we aren't physically together, you will always be present in my heart."

"When his arms wrapped around me, and his lips pressed to mine, time stopped and everything faded to the background. THIS feels like home."

Every once in a while you are lucky enough to find a book that hits really close to home, evoking emotions that you haven’t felt in a long time. Searching for Tomorrow did that for me. This is a beautiful love story about two soul mates whose future is cut short, leaving one of them to pick up the pieces and carry on without the other.

“Each memory, every dream, carries me back to the very day that my soul seeks, yet pushes me to search for tomorrow.” -Wrynn

September 11th 2001 plays a large part in this book. That infamous date is one that anyone who lived through it can relate to and will never forget. I was especially drawn to Tripp during this time, like myself, he decides to join the military after those tragic events. Although September 11th wasn’t the reason I enlisted, it was one of the reasons I was proud to be serving my country. Kathryn does a wonderful job drawing emotions out of the reader when reliving this tragic day. I was in tears and felt the struggle these two love birds share while dealing with Tripp’s enlistment. Although, I’m safe, and I didn’t lose any loved ones during that time of war, I could completely relate to the difficulties these two faced during this time. I cried so many times during this book, remembering what it felt like to leave behind my loved ones to carry out a mission. In the military it is always ‘duty and country before self’ and Kathryn does a wonderful job portraying this. I was truly impressed by the accuracy of the military aspects of this book. It made me reflect on my own journey, and how I felt during this time in my life, making me love Tripp that much more.

Tripp wasn’t as lucky in making it home, though. During this book, we are taken back and forth from the past and present as Wrynn deals with his death. She is forced to carry on, raising their three girls, while remembering how life brought her to this point. If you are a mother you know how difficult the day to day actives are. I can’t imagine doing it on my own while grieving.

“It’s time these girls knew more about their daddy, and I am the one who should share him with them. After yesterday, I need to show them that life with him was not about heartbreak, not filled with anguish, but a time of love and happiness.” - Wrynn

My heart broke for Wrynn as she struggled to stay strong for her girls! She is determined to do what is best for her daughters and is able to do that with the help of her family and friends. I loved her interaction with her twin Liam and the rest of her family. Oh, and also her wicked witch of a mother in law. Wow, that woman is evil. This book made me appreciate my own mother in law that much more.
My favorite parts are of Wrynn and Tripp in the past. They have been by each other’s side for years. Tripp was once the new kid in town who became best buddies with the twins. They are his escape away from his evil mother. What started of as friendship, turns into the type of love that all girls dream of. Tripp is the perfect boyfriend, and friend, to Wrynn. I loved the sweet innocence of their relationship, and the choices they make as teens that carry them into their future. Kathryn does a wonderful job making you believe that it is possible to find your soul mate at a young age.

"Tripp was my best friend, my lover, my confidant, my soul mate. He was the salt to my pepper. He was the peanut butter to my chocolate, and he alone brought me love and hope and joy. Together we created our three beautiful girls and together we looked at the world as ours to conquer. In short, he was my other half, the part that completed me."-Wrynn

Overall, I really enjoyed Searching for Tomorrow. It is a lot cleaner than my usual books, but it is a beautiful story that had me in tears. The only reason this book isn’t a 5 star read for me is that I needed a little more to the story. I wanted to experience more of their relationship while they were adults. I also wanted more at the end. I will definitely be reading Liam’s book because I want answers regarding his situation.

So, if you are looking for an emotional book about a two soul mates who don’t get the happily ever after they dreamed of, search no more. Pick this one up, you won’t regret it.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review…

I knew when I started Searching for Tomorrow, just by the synopsis, this book was going to definitely bring on the tears, and boy was I right. I mean how could it not? It's the story of Wrynn and Tripp, friends since elementary school whose love over the years grew and changed into the all encompassing true soul mate kind of love. The kind of love most people look for their whole life. But life threw a wrench into their plan for forever and now Wrynn is left drowning in grief, desperately hoping and praying each day will be easier as she tries to piece back her life, raise her children and move forward.

As you read the book you get to travel from the present into the past, allowing you a firsthand look into every special moment that defined Wrynn and Tripp as a couple. You see their happiness, their struggles. You watch them fall in love and build a life together. Because the story was written in this manner you really see just how deep their feelings for one another are and before you know it you're heart is breaking right along with Wrynn's.

While Wrynn's past is filled with plenty of romance, love and happiness her present reality is much different. Now a single mom of 3 young girls she has her hands full trying to balance taking care of the children, house, cooking, and holding down multiple jobs, all the while somedays not even having the energy to even get out of bed. Kathryn Crane did such a beautiful job describing every emotion and demonstrating Wrynn's struggles that I couldn't help but feel for this book character. I found myself wanting to comfort her, smiling when slowly but surely her depression begins to clear and pieces of the girl we see in the flashback to the past slowly reveals herself again.

This is a beautiful story of love, loss, family and strength. Personally I do not know anyone in the service but I have so much more respect for what their families must go through on a daily basis after reading this book. It's not an easy life that's for sure.

Searching for Tomorrow was a 4 star book for me because there were times when I felt the descriptions for setting up a new scene were a little too wordy. I had the scene in my mind and I just felt like saying hurry up, get me to the meat of the story…I want to know what's going to happen next? Needless to say I was engrossed! The only other complaint I had was feeling as though the ending was rushed. Things happened really fast, it was hard for me to catch up and then bam the story was over. I would like to have seen a little more details of the ending, before getting to the epilogue (I don't want to say much more because I really don't want to ruin the story…it's so good you must read and experience it for yourself).

While I knew from the synopsis the direction this book was going to take there were moments when I was completely shocked! So, while you may be hesitant to give this story a shot I really think you should take a chance and dive into it. It will probably make you cry, but it is also beautiful and completely uplifting to see this broken woman take back her life. Not to mention I can guarantee you will be just as surprised as I was!

Sometimes books are so emotionally draining for me that they will have me blubbering and upset for days. SEARCHING FOR TOMORROW was one of those stories. It was beautiful and sad, ugly and hopeful all at the same time, but the roller coaster of emotions was completely worth it.

Wrynn and Tripp’s fairytale life comes to a screeching halt when Tripp is killed in the line of duty. She knew his job as an Army Ranger was dangerous, but nothing could prepare Wrynn for life without Tripp. Now she has three little girls to raise on her own and the painful grief that she can only hope will eventually give so she can do better for her family. She has an awful mother-in-law who is determined to make her life miserable and makes it impossible to grasp onto any happiness. Her wonderful parents and brother make life tolerable, but there’s only so much they can do when her other half is gone. Tomorrow is something she can’t even begin to worry about because she can only focus on making it through the day.

“I always promise myself that I will be resilient enough to deal with all of his stuff tomorrow. I keep searching for that tomorrow, and it never seems to come, so each day I just keep trudging along.”

If this story sounds like its full of sadness and despair; that’s because it is, but there are also the small moments Wrynn is able to carve out each day for her girls, family, and friends that are beautiful and happy. When you lose the love of your life so young, it makes you appreciate life so much more and I thought Wrynn did an amazing job of grasping onto those small moments that make life wonderful. I couldn’t even imagine being able to find the happiness in everyday life if I had been in her shoes, but she does and it’s inspiring.

SEARCHING FOR TOMORROW is a truly deep and powerful story that will have you re-evaluating life and priorities. I would rate it 4.5 stars, because the story was slow at times and caused me to lose interest, but it was overall enjoyable, so I rounded it up to 5 stars. It is written completely from Wrynn’s point of view and we learn about her past life with her husband, in between chapters set in the present. It was a great way to learn about their past and appreciate what Wrynn is really going through without Tripp in her life. There are a few curves thrown in to keep things interesting, but I really can’t talk about those without ruining the surprises.

SEARCHING FOR TOMORROW did not have a cliffhanger, although we are left wondering what happened to Wrynn’s brother, Liam. FINDING HOPE FOR TOMORROW will be Liam’s story and I really can’t wait to find out what happens with this sweet and loving guy. I really recommend this series for those looking for an emotional love story that is good for all ages.

ARC Was Given To Blog For An Honest Review

Certain books cause your heart to pound your pulse to race, they burn into your memory and bury deep into your soul. They make your eyes water, ok they make you ugly cry or maybe that ugly cry is really tears of happiness. Maybe you read a book that causes you to laugh out loud. How about a book that is one of the most beautiful love stories ever?

I just finished a book that is all of the above. I am not even sure that my review can do it justice; words for the most part will probably escape me. I am just going to tell you how I feel. I cried for the better part of the day as I was reading. I immediately need to make contact with the author just to share how I was feeling; I needed that connection to her. Kathryn wrote this book, she is her characters and I needed her. I needed to tell her how amazing her story was making me feel. I needed to tell her that I don’t usually go for vanilla type books and how this is the exception. I had to tell her about my tears of joy and sadness and my laughter. I really hope that you all get what I am trying to say here, just how powerful of a reaction this story has left me with.

The author has us going back from present day to past as Wrynn is telling us her story of how her best friend turned into the most astonishing of love stories. Thinking of Tripp makes me smile and cry at the same time, here is a man that has no shame when it comes to his feelings for Wrynn, every look, caress and word he expresses is felt down into the deepest recesses of your body. I did not just melt but I evaporated. Tripp makes a decision that forever changes their lives and you will go through the journey with them. He made these decisions for all the right reasons and it is based on real life event for our country. I was so proud of him.

Family is an essential key in this story too, Wynn’s brother and parents are amazing and it is rare today to read story that has so much family love. We do have the evil mother on Tripp’s side, but I hate even mentioning her. MOVING ON.

Searching for Tomorrow is not an erotic book filled with descriptive sex scenes, and there was never at any point that I needed it to be or even wanted there to be. I often visualize myself into the female character, this time I did not do that, it was not my story, not my love it was hers and I felt honored to witness it.

It is the telling of the ultimate love and the loss of that love, coping and tying to exist from day to day. One of my favorite books/movies is The Notebook; if I was asked what book I thought it was as good as, I would say that one.

Please don’t miss out on this book; you would be truly missing out on something extraordinary. I wish these characters were real, I want to reach out and touch them as they have touched me. This book is a standalone, there is no cliff hanger. Liam is getting his own book and I can’t wait.

I received a copy from the author for an honest review.

Let me start out first with I am a veteran and military spouse. When Kathryn had mentioned military I had told her I was very picky on how authors write about the military. Some get it wrong and some well some just have no clue. Kathryn did very well portraying ARMY life as a spouse. It was like living it all over again. Just reading what Wrynn had gone through while Tripp was gone brought tears and over whelming sadness.

Wrynn's and Tripp's love for one another was young and beautiful and refreshing. Just knowing that childhood, high school sweethearts really happen. Tripp's dedication to Wrynn was over the top joyful and you would thought Wrynn was a princess.

In Searching for Tomorrow we meet Wrynn, Liam and Tripp. Wrynn and Liam are twins and Tripp he was a friend they took in and became a member of their family. You could say they were from 2 different worlds but the way Tripp acted you wouldn't have known.

The way Kathryn described everything it felt like you were walking with Wrynn and Tripp while out on their hikes, or sitting eating their ice cream. It was like walking down through town with the characters and you were beside them. Every chapter you read, you got the back story to it in the next chapter. If you felt lost reading something in a chapter the next showed you how things were when they were in high school, or just starting out their adult lives.

For every tear you shed you laughed. I swear I wanted to slap mother Tidwell just as much as Liam and Wrynn's family did. I mean what mother doesn't show their child love, compassion and need? Mother Tidwell that is who. We learn her side of things and I tell you what that pissed me off even more. I wanted to get on Facebook and scream at Kathryn but I didn't. I told myself to keep reading something has to give, and it sure did.

I haven't been a military spouse since 2008. My husband was medical boarded out due to an injury. I miss that connection with other spouses but like Wrynn I have a few that I know I can call and they will come help me out. Just the mention of The Wounded Warriors brings tears to my eyes. I know what families are going through. It is tough and not everyone can handle it.

That being said and without giving to much away. I had a feeling that something major was going to happen and when it did I had to grab the tissue box. I couldn't believe it. I was like Wrynn. I thought I was reading something that wasn't there. I had to pinch myself and rub my eyes to be sure I was reading what I was reading. It was magical and beautiful and just thinking about it now makes me want to cry some more.

I am going to say this: You need to pick up Searching for Tomorrow. It isn't erotica, it is refreshing true love type of read. A read that has a man who will do anything for his family. So while your done reading my review, go get yourself a copy.

ARC Was Given To Blog For An Honest Review

I had a difficult time finding the words that would best describe my feelings. This story is like your typical love story where boy meets girl, boy asks girl to marry him, and boy and girl start a family and hope to live happily ever after but with one HUGE difference, the loss of the boy in this scenario.

I started reading with a certain expectation-- a love story with sense of loss and tragedy that by the end I hoped a Happily Ever After somehow would come into this woman’s life. So to I say I judged this book by its cover, I sort of did. As I read, it became clear I was so wrong. My heart immediately was tethered to the main character, Wynn’s well fare. This woman had emotionally been put through the ringer and I found myself clutching my chest because my heart ached for her. I had anticipated conflict but didn’t expect the mother lode I was delivered.

I continued to read the story of her past and how she found her true love Tripp. Early on in the story it became crystal clear no other man would ever measure up to her perfect match.

Tripp, was (her) best friend, (her) lover, (her) confident, (her) soul mate. He was the salt to (her) pepper, the peanut butter to (her) chocolate. He alone brought (her) love and hope and joy.

Tripp’s character was what I could describe as a “real man.” He wasn’t the cookie cutter Alpha Male version that I fantasize about that I read in books. I found many of his characteristics were familiar to me with my own husband. He was sweet, thoughtful, sensitive to her needs and honorable. He was a man that I could actually see myself being with.

This story is emotionally dynamic and is a rare gem. Its multifaceted storyline had me trying to guard my heart at times while other moments had it leaping from my chest as I fell for Tripp’s character. The book touches on the 9/11 tragedy, anxiety disorders and the loss of a loved one. I had used so many tissues as I read page after page of Wynn’s retelling of the tragic events that brought her to the mental state she was in when the book began.

I would describe this book as a sensitive love story filled a level of intimacy that most stories should strive for and I am not talking about sex. There are no descriptive sex scenes that I have become accustomed to reading. The author doesn’t go the easy route with conveying intimacy with a sexual encounter. She does one better. She fills the relationship with Tripp and Wrynn with the sensuality without making it physical. Some books make a loud bang when you read them. This one is like a soft whisper that you find yourself leaning closer in an attempt to catch each and every word. This is Kathryn McNeill Crane’s first novel and if her second book about Wrynn’s older brother Liam is anything like this one, I will be one satisfied lady!

Kathryn McNeill Crane totally Molly McAdam'ed Me!!!!!

Sometimes you are lucky enough to come across a book that touches your heart. A book that stays with you for days after reading it. This book was so much more than I expected, and I thought it was spelled out for me in the synopsis.

"What happens when life conspires against you, and snatches your soul mate from your arms?

...only her forever love ended much too soon."

Knowing that I was going to be reading about a woman who not only lost her husband, but the father of her children still did not prepare me for the amount of tears I was going to shed. Reading about a family doing their best to move on after something so tragic nearly killed me. As a child who comes from a military family I have sadly seen that black car, I have held my friends while they cried of the loss of a parent. I have had friends die without an answer. I have to say that I love the way Kathryn moved the book from past to present...it made getting to know Wrynn a lot easier.

I have to also take a minute to say that Tripp and Wrynn may be one of my favorite fictional couples ever! Their relationship is not always perfect, but it is real. It's refreshing to see a couple that deals with issues we all face, and not just issues we wish we had (poor sad billionaire).

I am honored that you were brave enough to put pen to paper...or more accurately fingers to keyboard. Writers are a different breed of magic. They have the ability to create a world that exists for us, weather only during our brief time reading it, or one that stays with us for longer. Congratulations on making such an amazing piece of art. You, my dear, are made of pure magic :)

This is a beautiful story that is very easy going through about 60% and then BAM your crying and laughing and crying again. So let me start at the beginning and then leave you hanging :)

Our main female character Amelia Wrynn Broun Tidwell better known as Wrynn by those close to her, is now a mother of three adorable little girls but back then she was just the twin sister of Willam “Liam” Russell Broun. They were just like any other brother and sister, fighting and arguing like crazy but on their first day of third grade, they were fighting over a silly swing.Out of no where, a young boy named Channing Kennedy Tidwell III came to her rescue. Unfortunately for him he wasn’t aware that this was a brother sister brawl at all and ended up getting a woopin himself. Needless to say after that, all three of them became the best of friends.

Mrs Tidwell was a very well to do woman, that didn't like the friends that Channing took up with, so she tried to keep him from them. Since she didn't want much to do with him, it wasn’t hard for him to get away to hang out with his friends. After his friends found out his crazy long name, they nick named him “Tripp”. They all became inseparable and Tripp would swing Wrynn for hours. Since Mrs Tidwell pushed Tripp away quite often, Wrynn and Liams' parents brought him in as their own.

Tripp and Liam took care of Wrynn every turn they made. One day it just seemed like they weren't boys anymore. They were grown men and flanking her down the halls of middle school. During one such walk Tripp took Wrynns' hand and it was history after that.

After 9/11 Tripp was bound and determined to join the Army like his father wanted to. His father was unable because of his physical health but always regretted it. Tripp refused regret his choices and moved forward in the proceedings to join the Army. Although it was hard for everyone involved, they still made it work for a short time. After starting a family together and building a future, will they get the happily ever after or will there only be death, sadness and turmoil?

This was a very laid back and a really loving story, but you never really knew what happened until halfway through the book. That was irritating to me, but after that it was non stop drama that made the book fly by. Tripp was such a sweet, attentive boyfriend and husband that you easily fall in love with him from the start. Wrynn is also such a cutie pie, but at times you wanna shake some sense into her. I really loved every character in this book and their little ones were so adorable. I give this book 4 stars and really look forward to reading more of Katies work!!

First off, grab your tissues when you start this book...you will be hooked by the first few pages. There's so much I want to say about this book, but I don't want to give too much away, so this may be short and sweet. I will say I saw this book going in a completely different direction than it ended up. This is a beautiful, heart wrenching romance but with an unconventional twist to it. Searching for Tomorrow is about a widowed wife of a solider, which makes her a single mom to some pretty amazing little girls, and a sister to a twin brother that is trying to keep her world together.

Wrynn and Tripp have been together for years, starting out as friends and eventually allowing their love to blossom into the "happily-ever-after" kind of love. But that happily-ever-after never comes. She's left to raise their girls alone, deal with her mother-in-law (WICKED woman) alone, and try to drudge through her so-called life...alone. Knowing from the very beginning she was a widow, and this was a love story, I wondered how Katie was going to share their story. I LOVED the way she did. We were given different POVs, but from the past. Wrynn told us of her love story through her memories, memories that were hauntingly beautiful. Reading through this story I "felt" every emotion Katie wrote, I could "see" the landscapes that she described and I shed the tears that fell from the raw words that were written. Yes, I cried, and my husband looked over at me and said, "Why would you read a book that makes you cry?" Sigh...it's not like I KNEW I was going to cry. And honestly, even if I did know, I probably would have just grabbed my Kindle and the box of damn tissues and went to town.

Being a military (retired) wife myself, I was confronted with many questions of my own. What if that happened to me? How could I go on living each day raising our boys without my husband? I know women (and men) around the world pick up their shattered pieces after something so devastating and move on, because they have to, I just can't even imagine the pain that they go through in that process.

Searching for Tomorrow gives us a glimpse of what that life is like. I can't recommend this book enough. It's a tale of hope, ever-lasting love, and the promise that tomorrow will come. That's really all I'm gonna say. I don't want to spoil anything because there is a HUGE twist towards the end, and luckily I hadn't been informed as to what it was...BLOWN AWAY!!!

Bravo Katie, your story was absolutely breathtaking! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful story.
