Something About Silver is the latest offering by Sharon Hamilton and the first book in her new series, SEAL Brotherhood Silver Team. As always, Ms Hamilton has penned and exciting, intriguing, and emotional story that focuses on a love thought lost forever and the overwhelming reality that all you believed was a lie.

As indicated in the title, these books will be based on mature men, who have seen more of life’s horrors than anyone should and the women who will ground them as the years progress. But no romantic suspense is without danger, mistrust and sometimes betrayal, so expect to be riveted to your seat as you delve into the history of Harper and Lydia and the circumstances that ripped their HEA apart.

Something About Silver is a fast-paced, action packed and emotionally raw story that is well deserving of the accolades it is sure to receive. I’m looking forward to the next sexy silver SEAL to capture of hearts, as Harper is just the beginning.

An ok reading... It took forever for Lydia to enter, and seems to accept very easily what he is saying, although she has zero proof and even less memories of him. It is stated that she fears her "new love" but has no problem escaping his clutches. It isn't explained why he choose to save her, or take her in the first place, but I felt that after so much time reading about the yoga instructor and Venom's preferences, I would have liked to see more about her in the present and less in the past.

This is book one in The Seal Brotherhood : Silver Team Series and it is Harper and Lydia’s story and omg what a great start to a new series and definitely a must read. Harper is a navy seal with team 3 but with deployment, a father with dementia and the loss of his wife who was his everything life will never be the same again especially after seeing her get murdered but he still has to move forward and give his all to his job even though at times it is hard especially as he feels guilty and blames himself for not protecting her enough and he feels her loss every single day. When he is asked to get a team together by the president to capture the man that killed his wife he sees this as a way to honour her and also help him so imagine his shock when he has eyes on the target and then sees his wife Lydia who doesn’t recognise him and who goes by a different name because she had lost her memory but Harper was determined to not only complete the mission but also bring his wife home and hopefully they will eventually be able to start there life again and make new memories. Wow what a rollercoaster ride of emotions this story takes you on and I couldn’t put it down because not only was it addictive but also a real page turner that had you on the edge of your seat. I loved how much Harper loved his wife Lydia and his dedication so that they could get there lives back and move forward. Nobody writes military books like Sharon Hamilton who is a amazing author and writer and her books are definitely worth reading and you will not be disappointed. I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

Duty, loss and learning to move forward are the main focus of this book. Harper, a Navy SEAL, is called upon to lead a special task force unit. The unit is meant to be comprised of those who have special skills gained through their service in any branch of the armed forces, FBI or CIA. Most will have had many years of service under their belt and be looking to transition to less time deployed or spent on a mission. Harper was specifically picked to lead, not only because of his exemplary service record, but also because of his commitment to the first mission for the new unit, Silver Team. They are hunting for a terrorist who was responsible for the death of Harper’s wife in Africa where she was serving as a nurse. He had previously been told another was responsible and had made it his mission to find and kill him. Knowing apprehending his wife’s killer is the goal of this first mission makes it hard to turn down the position offered to him, but still Harper seeks the advice and counsel of his close friends and fellow SEALS. He is a man of integrity, honour and duty, but he feels he owes his beloved late wife to find and apprehend her killer. Not every mission goes as planned though, and this one includes a very unexpected twist….one that changes everything for Harper.

The camaraderie among the SEALS, and their unwavering support for each other is illustrated throughout this book. The time they lose with their families is also noted in this captivating book. I would certainly recommend this book to those who enjoy a romance with men and women in uniform.

Two things in Something About Silver immediately grabbed my attention: older characters and the Sonoma County setting. I've many, many, many happy memories associated with this region and am thoroughly familiar with the small towns depicted. I love the premise of these seasoned warriors who are not quite ready to retire but recognize that despite their best efforts time, injured and/or aging body parts and world weariness are slowing them down. The creation of the Silver Team is pathway for them to protect their country yet not having to constantly be deployed.

Harper Cunningham is a man content with his status in the SEALS. Leadership has never been his ambition but a fateful phone call and a meeting with POTUS puts him squarely in the leadership position. But, never in a million years, did he expect to stumble across his dead wife while on on op to capture her real killer. Lydia has no memory of her past. She awoke from a coma in Italy after being in an auto accident or so she was told. Her savior has become herbenefactor and close friend. Having Harper proclaim that he's her husband shakes her and somehow in her memory's recessesses sparks familiar feelings. Their journey to rekindling their relationship is poignant and beautiful.

This new series centers on the experienced and older SEALs that have battled many missions. Harper Cunningham is one of those men.
He’s back in California and his concerns are his aging father that is battling with Alzheimer and his best friend, his dog Venom. He is still mourning his beloved wife who was killed in North Africa while he was on a mission.
When the President of the USA decides to create the Silver Team, Harper is approached and offered the leader position.
This mission might help him avenge the death of his wife. What he never expected was to come across the woman he thought was gone forever. Is it really her? If so, is she a friendly or a traitor?
The plot was engaging and entertaining. It was also a story filled with real life situations we encounter as we get older.
The author has the reader visiting with some of the characters from the original SEAL Brotherhood series.
Looking forward to the next stories in this series.

Navy SEAL Harper Cunningham’s wife, Lydia, was killed during her last charitable mission. He was able to eliminate her killer…or did he? It seems the terrorist he killed was not the man who killed her, but now he must find and capture the man who did. He has been asked, by the President, to form a new SEAL team, Team Silver. The team, would be comprised of older SEALs who are not ready to retire and would include those trained in explosives, medics, snipers, and communications. Harper contacts men he has worked with in SEAL Team #3 as he plans the logistics for the trip. His focus is to find the man who killed his wife and return him to the states. When he locates his target, he is stunned to see him with a woman who resembles Lydia. Can this be Lydia and if so, was she involved in the terrorism or is she being held against her will? Can Harper find out what happened and get Lydia and his team safely back to the states? A great start to this new series! Finding Lydia . . .

This is a busy story line that takes us through many events. Harper Cunningham is a SEAL who lost his wife to a sniper. He thought he had avenged her but found out the wrong man had been identified. He becomes the leader of a special new SEAL team, the Silver SEALs, and is on a mission when he crosses paths with his wife who is selling flowers! She is using another name, Georgie, and doesn’t seem to recognize him. And she is somehow connected to the dangerous terrorist, Jakob Lipori, who has obviously lied to her about the facts. Will Harper complete his mission? Will he be sidetracked by the shock of finding Lydia? Will her memories return? Or will he have to lose her once again?

There is so much going on in Harper’s life and in the story. There are so many decisions to be made in such a robust story like this. You won’t want to miss Harper’s responses to the choices he is presented while still trying to do the right thing and reflect the honor and courage of his team.

As part of the "Silver Generation" I thoroughly enjoy stories and shows (think Golden Bachelor) that show older citizens in a positive and still productive light. Knowing that there will hopefully be a new set of wonderful stories from Sharon Hamilton regaling us with new and exciting stories of the men (and hopefully women) in the newly created Silver SEAL Team. In this story we follow the continuing story of Harper Cunningham, a SEAL who is still mourning the loss of his wife two years prior and then is told that the man he eliminated was not the man who actually pulled the trigger that killed his wife, Lydia. This is a heartwarming story of a man who truly loved his wife and while dealing with his sorrow, he is struggling to decide if it might be time for his war-hardened and tired body to retire from the teams.

Wowsa this book is absolutely fantastic and trust me have a few tissues on hand. I was absolutely engrossed from the beginning until the end and still wanting more from them. It's a compelling story filled with heartbreak and learning to try to get through life and then getting another chance with your soulmate. Harper is seal team 3 lpo and finds out that the shooter who took his wife's life wasn't the right one now getting a second with a new group but when he comes face to face with his dead wife can he figure out what happened to her and get a second chance with her or is her memory lost forever? This is a phenomenal start to new series seal Brotherhood silver team book 1 and Sharon Hamilton knocked it out of the ballpark. It truly does have all the right feels and so much more. Congratulations on another phenomenal Story!.

SEALS, Silver and I am on board. This book actually had a lot going on. Familial issues, age issues, start of a new series, pulls on emotions and has Venom, four legged! Enjoyed! Age affects us and to see SEALS as they view changes on the horizon, deal with Dementia in family members, loss and so much more was an emotional ride. The set up for this series is great, the conflicting thoughts, feelings were clear to see. Harpers handling of everything was awe inspiring. His willingness to do the right thing and take a step back in the last couple chapters was unexpected. Yes honor is a part of everything, but this still unexpected. I enjoyed this read and am looking forward to the series. Thank you for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. #SomethingAboutSilver #SEALSBrotherhood #SharonHamilton #FrogHavenPress #Booksprout

This was such a good book! You could feel the love Harper and Lydia had at one time. Lydia was a nurse that went to Africa to help out. Harper’s Seal team was supposed to have gone at the same time, but Lydia’s departure was moved up. The worst thing that could happen happened when some terrorists killed all of Lydia’s team. I can’t imagine how hard it was for Harper to loose Lydia. The government thought they had killed the man who had shot Lydia, but later found out it was another man. The President wanted to form a Silver Team of various older government entities to go into terrorist sites. Harper was tasked for the first mission to help capture the terrorist that shot Lydia. The team had some surprises when they went to Italy to capture the terrorist. I am looking forward to the next book. I strongly encourage you to read the book.

Harper is one of the older members of SEAL Team 3 and does not want a leadership position. He is chosen by Washington DC to head a new team of Silver SEALS that is actually made up of members of the different Armed Forces and other agencies. This teams first mission is to kill the terrorist that killed his wife Lydia. Harper thought he had killed the person before but new intelligence says different. When he gets to the place he finds the terrorist and this terrorist has his Lydia. He now has the dilemma of killing the terrorist or rescuing Lydia. What will he do? Will Lydia recognize him and come with him? Does the team accomplish the mission and get away cleanly? All these questions are answered in the book. This is a great start to a new series by Mrs. Hamilton and it is a totally captivating start. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

4+ Stars ⭐⭐⭐🌟 SOMETHING ABOUT SILVER introduces us to the beginning of the Silver Team and also brings Harper Cunningham back as he continues to struggle with his new normal – life after Lydia. Even knowing what’s in store (if you read the synopsis), you can’t help but feel the heartache of his loss. But since we got a heads up about the expected twist (again – synopsis), you also can’t help feeling the anticipation of what you know is coming. Even with that foreknowledge, there are surprises in store, and with characters we’ve already grown to care for in this fast-paced, exciting new tale, you will find this an intriguing and engaging story that will capture your heart and keep you involved from beginning to end. But it’s not really the end because there’s still more to come in Harper’s and Lydia’s story, and I can’t wait to read it next!

The tragic death of his wife Lydia still haunts Harper with the only solace being that the man responsible met a similar fate. He has now found out that is not the case and for him to get the justice he needs it will mean leading a newly formed SEAL team comprised of mature and experienced SEALs.

The assignment takes a turn he doesn’t see coming when not only does he find the man responsible but Lydia as well. The only setback is that she doesn’t remember him or their life together and now they must determine if she is an accomplice or a victim.

This is a great beginning to a new series that allows us to meet not only Harper and Lydia but other members of the team as well as they take us on an intriguing journey. The performance of the narrator managed to convey both the action of the story as well as the emotions of the characters.

A great start to this new series.
Harper is tasked with setting up a new team whilst in the background he has to deal with some personal issues such as his father who is suffering from dementia and also finding out that his wife’s killer is not the sniper who he originally killed. There’s more intrigue along the way as Harper has questions about some anomalies surrounding the events of his wife’s death. Even more so when he recognises his wife in the village despite her using a different name.
This book is a page turner and you can’t help but feel for the dilemmas which Harper faces.
It’s action packed from start to finish with a HEA thrown in at the end.

Harper & Lydia

An exciting new series that already captures the heart. I was excited to get right into this story and was not disappointed.

My heart breaks for Harper losing his one true love in such a tragic way. I applaud his LPO, Kyle, for supporting Harper in his need to see his first mission on Silver Team succeed and give Harper closure. I’m looking forward to getting to know the rest of Harper’s new team, especially Hamish and I hope Harper’s relationship with Lydia is followed and expanded.

I hurt for Harper with his father’s dementia situation. It is a disease that is devastating to all involved and very difficult to experience.

Unexpected surprises, a bit of suspense, excitement and a happy result.

A wonderful start to the new series, I loved it!

Harper Cunningham is a Navy Seal team #3.
Hampshire McDougall is Harper’s friend is Seal Team #5.
Lydia was Harper’s wife and she was a nurse. She is kind, calm, has strength.

Harper and Lydia were married a few years, when she was on a trip for missionary in Africa. She was supposedly killed.

Harper was on a mission to nab a terrorist and comes across. Lydia ( now called Georgie) living with his target.

Was the mission a trap and who is behind it. Do they have a mole to be want of mission going FUBAR.
This book has suspense, danger, betrayal.

Great Job Sharon Hamilton !!!!.

We are back with SEAL Team 3 and some of the long standing members along with some of the other teams. Harper Cunningham, after returning home from a mission, dealing with his father’s dementia and still mourning the loss of his wife receives a phone call that changes his life…in more ways then he ever thought possible…and possibly a new SEAL team.

This is a new seal series and it is off to a fantastic start.  Book 1 is Harper and Lydia's story.   Harper is a career military guy who doesn't fall in love easily which makes it more tragic when his wife is murdered on a missionary trip to Africa. Now Harper has been recruited into a new Seal team and  the mission is to capture his wife's killer. While on this mission he meets Georgie, a woman who appears to be involved with this killer and she also happens to look a just like his late wife. Who is this woman?

This is a great start to a new series.   As we have come to expect from Sharon Hamilton this book has not only great characters but lots of action and suspense balanced with some romance.   I'm looking forward to reading the next installment.

Now, he is being tasked by the President, with leading a special Silver Team, a unit of experienced SEALs, to preempt emerging terrorist threats. He has eyes on his target only to see his wife, Lydia! She doesn’t recognize him, has a new name because she has lost her memory! Now be prepared for an emotional roller coaster ride, I guarantee you will not be able to put this book down.

This is an emotional story. We follow Harper as he struggles to cope with the loss of his Lydia, who was murdered by a sniper. But not only that, but also the loss of his team, which he is having a hard time with. But everything changes when one day he receives a phone call that he can hardly believe. He sets out with a new team to investigate the tip and finds his wife who should actually be dead without her memory and does not recognize him either. . I won't reveal what happens next, but I say go read their story because it is a great book and series by a top author.

Not what I was expecting but I loved this book

I can't image what Harper went through losing his wife to a terrorists attack but then to find her alive and living with the terrorist he was hunting because he was the one who supposedly killed her? And then to find out she doesn't remember anything of her previous life? And then OMG what must Lydia think about him saying she is his wife who supposedly died two years ago? Will she ever remember anything about them being together? How will they get her back to the States and what happens to the terrorist they were sent to bring back?

Harper lost his wife, Lydia, to terrorists, a couple of years ago. Now there is information that this might not be the case.
Harper has been asked to head up a new team, one where the men have years of experience who might be feeling that they've seen enough of jumping out of planes and staying away for months on end. He's not sure as he doesn't feel like leader material.
The team go to Italy to recover a terrorist leader, but there's an unexpected complication!.

For two years he has believed that his wife was killed in a terrorist attack in Africa. Now he learns that what he thought he knew may not be the truth. He is a more mature SEAL and is being asked to be a part of a new elite team to take on different capture and extract missions. The first mission will be to capture the man responsible for his wife's death. All is definitely as it seems but then it always seems to be that way with these SEALs. An intriguing beginning to Sharon Hamilton's new SEAL Brotherhood: Silver Team.

I loved the first book in this new series of Silver Seals.
Told from the POV of Harper Cunningham, who is chosen to head up a new government team of specialist operators who have served many years to its country.
The team is sent to Italy to bring back a wanted terrorist by the US government.
Harper never expected to come face to face with a vision from his past!
Brilliant storyline, wonderful characters, and absolutely loved the HEA.
Can't wait to read the next book in this series.
