I thoroughly enjoyed this easy to read, witty, fun, sexy book! I suppose the interpretation of this book and the rating left for it depends on the reader's BDSM knowledge and POV but from my perspective, Ms. Evers does an amazing job of bringing fantasy to life. This is the story of a young male submissive named Blake (who does not know yet that he is destined to be a sub) and a female Domme Victoria. Although the way they meet and how they end up seeing each other again probably doesn't happen in reality as often as one would hope, what happens in this story certainly is possible. It was fun to read about the first encounter these characters share and what else happens when they meet up again later! SPANKED is a well written, super fun glimpse into how fun punishment and rewards in the BDSM lifestyle can be!

Part of my dislike of this book is just my issue with the femdom subgenre in general. There isn't enough gentle femdom or tender, romantic role reversal out there. That's what I wish I could get more of, but there's so little of it.

I was hoping I could have a moment with this book. Alas, no moment was had. All that "Little Blake" stuff was way too infantalizing for me. I'm not into little stuff. I'm not into age play. Not into age gaps. I'm into fucking grown men and there's no reason not to treat them like grown men, even in a femdom dynamic. The "Ma'am" stuff was also really not my speed, but I know that's really common with femdom smut. Just wish I could find femdom with a more intimate, tender dynamic.

The scene where she makes him like his own precum off her pants is nasty. Made me want to gag. So gross.

The only hot scene was the anal sex scene, but it didn't go on long enough or have enough dialogue/tenderness for me to have a moment. If I write a director's cut/extended scene in my head, maybe I can have a moment.

This erotica didn't do the heavy lifting. I'm gonna have to do it myself :/

This story was okay, although a little confusing in parts. The boy was still in college but said, I quote: "He'd dreamed -no, obsessed- about being spanked by a hot Domme his entire adult life."

I wasn't sold on the way the two main characters hooked-up, but stranger things have probably happened.

What I didn't like, or should I say who I didn't like? The domme, these kind of ultimatums annoy me

"Then Claren is your safeword," she said. "That means if your want to stop whatever it is we're doing then you say your safeword and go home."

I don't mind humiliation to a point, especially if it is the sub/domme's kink, but mind games piss me off.

While she wasn't really upset with him, the look of confusion and concern that crossed his face at her words thrilled her. She loved messing with her subs heads, twisting their words and making them unsure of themselves. It was one more way she was able to enjoy her dominance over them.

While this story didn't work for me, it also brings a saying to mind. "To each their own."
