Jess es una francotiradora del FBI, pero siente que ese no es más su lugar. Quiere hacer un cambio en su vida, así que comienza a trabajar con su hermano en una compañía de ayuda humanitaria.
Hasta que aparece Colin en escena, Jess sentía que no conectaba con nadie y solo basto una noche y un encuentro después de una peligrosa misión para que Colin no dejara de pensar en Jess.
Meses después vuelven a encontrarse en una misión humanitaria y las chispas se hacen presentes.
Es una historia corta entretenida, mucha pasión, los encuentros sexuales están descritos con elegancia.
Los capítulos están narrados por ambos personajes.
Me hubiese gustado que la autora no repitiera tanto por qué Jess deja el FBI, se hace un poco cansón después que lo lees dos veces.
En fin, es una historia corta de la que no se puede dar muchos detalles, pero es una buena historia para cuando se quiere descansar de otras largas, cumple su cometido de entretener al lector, no con risas, porque escena divertida solo hay al final de la historia, pero si con una historia ligera, que no se hace pesada en ningún momento.
Son libros independientes, las otras historias son de los demás hermanos Stone.

Mala no, lo siguiente. Creo que jamás he leído una novela - aunque sea corta como ésta - más desestructurada, inconexa y sin sustancia, que ésta. ¿Personajes? PUAG...¿Dónde?, ¿Trama? ¿Qué mierda es esto? Parece que lo único que hace la autora es saltar de una escena de sexo a otra, intentando entrelazarlas y meterlas en una trama que, sí, a primera vista es de acción, pero que no pegan ni con cola, o al menos no ha conseguido integrarlas de tal manera que resultasen creíbles DENTRO de la trama o línea argumental.
Tal vez lo siguiente esté plagado de SPOILERS, pero en 95 páginas de novelucha, tampoco vais a encontrar mucho, así que vosotr@s veréis. Avisad@s estáis...

Oh, no, this just not good enough.
Could have been fun read. But no. Too cheesy, too far fetched, too loosely based (the author must have not researched well enough the work of relief agencies to depict it more or less accurate).

Nada más comenzar la novela la autora nos presenta una breve descripción de lo que nos deparará esta serie de hermanos llena de acción, suspense, rebeldía, sensualidad, pasión y erotismo, pero sobretodo está llena de amor y ternura por cada uno de sus poros ya sea fraternal, fraternidad o de pareja.
En esta primera entrega de los Stone, conocemos a una mujer que siempre ha tenido la sensación de no terminar de encajar en ninguna parte del todo. Ella es Jess Stone, una francotiradora del FBI que tras un cambio de aires acaba trabajando en la organización de ayuda humanitaria de su familia.
En contra partida conocemos a un hombre integro, picarón, con humor y de acción con grandes valores. Él es Colin Davies, se traslada a Port du Bois para proteger a la hermana menor de su amigo como favor para estar en paz con la deuda que tiene con Jack Stone y dentro de ese favor esta no seducir a su hermanita jaja.
El momentazo más divertido que tiene la novela creo que lo podemos adivinar con solo un poco de picardía tras leer la sinopsis y conocer las limitaciones que le hace Jack a Colin jeje. Y como al final la pareja debe darle las gracias a ese hermano entrometido que les blinda una solución a su futuro, sólo falta que ellos la acepten. ¿Quieres saber más? No te pierdas esta novela y atrévete a leerla.
Para concluir, esta autora me ha sorprendido con un argumento básico pero a la vez lleno de frescura y originalidad donde la lectura no decae en ningún momento y te invita seguir enganchada para conocer que paso darán este par de tortolos que luchan con dientes no admitir lo que sienten por miedo a un cambio drástico de vida.

Una historia corta sin mucho desarrollo, ella iba a lo que iba.
La relación de ellos (si se puede llamar asi) comenzo hace 6 meses y la chispa siguio enseguida hasta que se volvieron a ver.
Sigue la misma pasión y atracción que sintieron al conocerse y se profundiza un poco mas ya que se contaron cosas que desenmascararon lo que sentian realmente con lo que hacian.
Debo decir que para mi gusto le falto mas acción y que no se centraran tanto en el sexo, tenia una buena historia para desarrollar pero se quedo en el limbo y nos dejo con ganas de saber todo lo que tuvieron que hacer para lograr el cometido de la misión.
Me interesaría mas conocer los libros que siguen con los hermanos, ya que la probadita que dio me dejo con ascuas de saber como se va a desarrollar esa historia.
A pesar de todo creo que si quieren algo ligero para entretenerse una tarde este es el libro que buscan, sin mucho trama ni enredo.
Gracias como siempre a la autora por permitirme conocer su historia y a BATMW por hacer posible este tour.

hay no se porque las autoras tienen la costumbre de cortar las historias en la mejor parte. estaba tan enganchada hasta que puff se acabo, y yo quede como WTF. en serio que eso no fue de papito dios. ademas me gusto que narro la historia la autora en cuenta regresiva :P

This short novella is an introduction to the Stone Family who run a Global Humanitarian Relief company.
First up is step sister Jess Stone who had become disillusioned with her life as an FBI sniper. She joins her older brothers Humanitarian relief company because she wants to help people instead of being ordered by the FBI to kill. Her brother tells Jess he is sending help with her for this humanitarian relief mission. They are supposed to be handing out water and seed packets in a war zone.
Jess is shocked to see the person her brother send to assist on this mission is no other than "Niles", well that is the name he gave her. His name is actually Colin Davies and they had a ONS 6 months before when they worked a mission together. At the time he was SAS (Special Air Service) for the British Army. He acts like he doesn't remember her, but Jess totally remembers him.
Colin does remembers Jess. He is surprised this is Jack's little sister, who he was told to stay away from. Colin was okay with this. First because he had not been able to get over the FBI agent he had met six months ago, but also because he was repaying a favor to Jack and he in no way want to disrespect his friend.
Of course the minute these two get a chance alone Colin totally forgets his promise to Jack and Jess doesn't seem to care they are in the middle of a war zone. They cannot resist each other. The story moves quickly. Jess discovers this is not so much a humanitarian mission and she is upset about that, but she is a professional and does what needs to be done.
This is a short sexy read with some suspense in the middle of a war zone and two people who had not gotten over each other and get their second chance.

Más que una novela, un relato de poco más de sesenta páginas que se leen de un tirón, con cantidad de acción y pasión. Jess y Colin tuvieron una noche desenfrenada. De eso, han pasado seis meses en los que se han echado de menos cuando el destino vuelve a juntarles. Las circunstancias en las que tiene lugar su encuentro no son las más adecuadas para una segunda noche salvaje, ni tampoco por la promesa que Colin hizo a Jack su hermano.
Me encanta la forma de describir y las comparaciones que utiliza la autora. Se nota que ha leído mucho sobre el tema de espías. Cuando algo te gusta mucho, se nota y eso le ocurre a Lisa Hughey. Ha sabido combinar una historia de amor entre dos compañeros de misión, ha conseguido sentir como real cada una de las experiencias en el país del Caribe en que se encuentran.e incluso las diferencias de Jess con una de sus compañeras de trabajo.
Es una historia que te hará saltar el corazón en más de una ocasión y , no solo por las escenas de peligro y tensión. Muy recomendable.

I loved the chemistry between the characters and the way they interacted with each other.

3.5 This was pretty good. This is about a group of relief worker/assassins? maybe?? I'm still not clear on that but I think that's about it. The writing was good. But it was not realistic to be having sex when on a mission. I mean seriously? Then they are both constantly distracted by each other that all they are thinking about is sex. Okay come on really? Your car is being searched by guys with machine guns and you are thinking about is where the blood in your head rushed too. But I am curious about the rest of the Stone family I will continue on with the series.

I obtained this free e-book from Amazon and I am voluntarily writing a review. I normally do not read anything under 100 pages and I am so glad that was not the case here. I loved the plot Jess is ex FBI sniper and has gone to work for her step brothers humanitarian agency and has been assigned to deliver seed packets and purified water tablets to a devastated country hit by an earthquake. She finds out her hook up from six months ago is the man in charge of this relief effort and there is a little more to this than she counted on.

Para novella de 79 páginas, surpreendeu-me pela positiva. A escrita da autora, que é nova para mim, é muito boa, cativou-me a atenção desde o início; o enredo, apesar de desenvolvimento curto, também foi bastante razoável; o romance entre Jess e Colin - explosivo, mesmo como eu gosto.
Uma autora para acompanhar, sim.

It's all about family.
Lisa's books are always a good read. Family, adventure, romance, humor and good sex make her books hard to put down. Did I mention the hunky men? This is most likely the third or fourth time I've read this series. Get it, you'll love it.

This is the first book I’ve read by Lisa Hughey and while I’m giving it 3 stars I enjoyed it enough I want more. The main issue is one I’ve mentioned before the book had a few lengthy love scenes. I would have preferred less time spent on that and more on the actual story. As I’ve said previously, this is more of a ‘me’ issue and for the next reader, they may appreciate the lengthier love scenes.
It’s a novella so there isn’t as much time to delve into the plot but briefly Jess is a former marksman for the FBI, an unusual role for a woman. But she’s weary of shooting the bad guys and when offered a position in her step brother’s humanitarian company, she accepts wanting to help people in need. On her first assignment she runs into Colin, a British SAS agent. The two had met previously and spent one extremely night of passion together. There are still feelings on both sides but what are they going to do with them?
I recommend this one if this sounds like a book right up your alley. I’ve had my copy for a while in my TBR pile and I’ll be honest. What prompted me to read it is it’s coming to the end of the year and I’m so close to completing my GoodReads challenge, a short book helps ensure

The only reason this is 4 stars is because I would have loved to read a much longer story about Jess and Colin. The novella gives snippets of how they met the first time which adds intensity to their interactions during this story and allows for a quick read, BUT I really wanted to read the whole story not just the abbreviated version. I loved Jess and Colin and wanted to learn more about them. I enjoyed the author’s writing style and I’m looking forward to the next full length books in this series.

Fascinada con gusto a poco
Me a encantado y tenía gusto a poco jejejeje se entiende que al ser una saga sigue Connor quien me a dejado enganchada con lo que r podido leer, lastimosamente para mi tendré que esperar un poco para intentar comprarla y seguir esta hermosa historia, como bien el encabezado y como decimos acá con gusto a poco no en el mal sentido si no en que me lo leo en un par de horas y quedo OMG ya no me queda nada pr leer asi es que mis felicitaciones porque me a encantado por algo fue 5 de 5 estrellas de verdad felicidades

A nice romantic suspense between 2 professionals, albeit they're both killers. Short and sweet fits this book to a tee. Though it has quite a few typos, nothing that can't be overlooked, but why not fix it? It's so easy to upload a properly edited edition today. I definitely liked the interaction between the 2 main characters and the love scenes were well choreographed. This is a good introduction to the family of Stones and their business.

This book has a strong, sexy, and smart heroine. A sexy and strong hero, and the sexual tension between them has sparks flying. There is enough danger, suspense, passion, spice, action and intrigue to keep a reader’s interest. The story line is one that has you sad and happy all at the same time. Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed reading and can recommend to everyone who reads this genre...

Great thriller
Loved the story line. Jess was one hot badass. Loved the family business concept. The romantic relationship between Colin and Jess made it really interesting. Can't wait to read more from this author.

good book
New author for me and I just love the way she writes. Smooth and no nonsense. I loved how Jack makes Jess comfortable and how at the end he calls out Colin for not keeping his promise. Lol!
New author for me and I just love the way she writes. Smooth and no nonsense. I loved how Jack makes Jess comfortable and how at the end he calls out Colin for not keeping his promise. Lol!

A fast read.
I enjoyed the way the character's motivations were revealed. Parts of the plot were far fetched but the relief mission details were quite believable. Sexy times.
