4 stars for the story. 2 stars for the editing. I'll leverage at 3 stars.
All of the questions I had from part 1 were (thankfully) answered. I was going to be upset if they weren't! To avoid spoilers I will just tell you that yes, Grollics are werewolves. Yes, the Nephilim are fallen angels. Yes, the Nephilim can be killed. Yes, Rouge (pronounced Rogue) *does* fit into the story. Though sadly, Rouge does not fit in like she had hoped.
I also did not catch on that this was a modern urban fantasy rendition of Little Red Riding Hood, though I should have. All the clues were there. Rouge's name, Simon nicknaming her 'Red', and her even mentioning the fairytale once or twice. *facepalm* This line made me realize:
"Happy eighteenth birthday, little Rouge Riding."
Uhhh okay. Not the wolf-shifter-pack-drama I had originally hoped for, but nonetheless this story did surprise me in a good way. There were a couple scenes I could have done without so much detail. I didn't need to know every detail of Michael and Rouge walking back and forth between the house and the pool house, or every detail of Damon and Rouge's trek through the woods and into the cabin.
Also, I'm still wondering what the purpose of making Michael's family fallen angels was. I don't really see how that was needed for the story. I almost wish Michael's family was just human, because it seems out of place with the wolf-genre. But I guess we will see.
There were a good bit of editing errors, grammatical and spelling mistakes. Like "you're" instead of "your" and an extra word that didn't belong here and there. It normally doesn't deter me from enjoying the story but in this particular book I found myself having to go back and reread paragraphs that I stumbled on.
All in all, this was a good story and I'm curious to see what happens.
