The only thing I can say is this series is not talked about enough and I don’t like that for us the readers.
You will FEEL as if you’re in the room and in the book as you read. That was Goldieym’s goal and she did it plus more. 10 outta 10. You will feel everything. The love, the hurt, the pain, the family bonds that are built amongst friends, the protectiveness, the black community. YOU WILL FEEL IT ALL!
A lot took place and unfolded in this book. A lot of them is still tryna get wrap up the street stuff up!
I need an update on Jayson and his family because I feel like he is going to pop up again!
These lines are being crossed with the mixing these folks doing! Because why you messing with the brother! Lordt!
Loved the way that they shined a lot of light on black community and the great things we were involved in.
I’m looking forward to seeing what the 3rd book holds! This book is really good you just have to pay close attention with all the characters they have!
Picked up exactly where part 1 left off! This is easily one of the best series I’ve read this year. This book tugged at my emotions a bit more than the last one. Love the black excellence exhibited throughout the book. Just like book 1, I was easily lost in their world. Loving this series so far! Excited to see how the cliffhanger situation is handled in the next book. Definitely getting the paperback!
This book felt like filler. There was hardly any plot until we got to side B where yet again everything picked up. I understand slow burn, but it should be with some semblance of plot. Having the pace pick up to end in a cliffhanger can be a bit disappointing. Otherwise I love the characters and everything surrounding them and their stories! Still would recommend this series.
This series is way too underrated, and I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about it. Goldieym nailed it. You feel everything as you read—love, pain, joy, hurt, all of it. The way she writes, you’re not just reading, you’re living it. This book hits deep, especially the bond between the characters. The love, the protectiveness, the family-like loyalty—they embody everything beautiful about the black community and the strength of black men and black women.
This book picks up right where part one left off and doesn’t let up. The raw emotions? Unmatched. It’s easily one of the best series I’ve read this year. Black excellence shines through every page, and the way the culture and the community are woven into the story is on another level. You’re pulled into their world, and you don’t want to leave.
The cliffhanger has me hooked and ready for more. I’m invested in these characters, and I need to see how it all plays out. If you’re not reading this, you need to be. It’s a whole vibe, and you don’t want to miss it.
