Muhammad: An Authentic Overview of His Life and Mission

Rate this book
There are over 1.6 billion Muslims in the world today. Yet, many people have little to no understanding about the founder of one of the world's largest and fastest growing religions. English speaking people have very few reliable and authentic resources which provide an overview of Muhammad's life. This book is designed to fill that void and not only serve as an introduction to Islam but also to establish a foundation through which the reader may sift through the negative propaganda against the man and his message.

This was recommended for a class I was taking and I thought it was great. It’s straightforward and I think just the right amount of information if you want a good overview of the Prophet’s (saw) life and mission. Not really complex / in depth as other biographies I’ve read

5 starts for youth or anyone under the age of I’d say 14-15 but for adults I would give it 3 stars.

I’d recommend Martin Lings biography if you don’t mind an older English style. If you want a nice easy read, I would highly recommend Tariq Ramadans biography of the Prophet Muhammed (saw).

Edit after reading a second time:
Initially I had the review at three stars and I have now changed to four. Mustafa Umar seems to clearly have written this for people who know very little at about the Prophet (saw) and if that is the case it is a pretty solid introduction to the Prophet Muhammad's life. As stated above however, I would not recommend this to someone at a college reading level or someone looking for something more detailed. There are other better biographies for that.
