When Leslie Brinton first meets Nephti Ben Abhou, better known as Nick, she immediately dislikes him. He seems too smooth, too confident. Little does she know that before her trip to the Holy Land is over, he is going to save her life, almost get her killed, and embroil her in a terrorist plot to destroy Jerusalem. Author Jaroldeen Edwards has written a gripping story that sweeps across the plains of Jordan and Israel. It is a story of the love of country that sets nation against nation, the love of family and the pain of separation, and the love of a man and a woman, a love so strong that it might save the world.
I've read this book a dozen times, and I can't say why I like it so much. It's very "Indiana Jones", only, for once, the main character is female. I suppose it probably doesn't strictly make a lot of sense, and if I read it for the first time now I would probably see the major twist coming a mile away, but I still think it is a very entertaining book in an extremely facinating setting. I would totally recommend reading it once!
I inherited this book from my great grandmother. Kind of funny to inherit a book, but I got a lot of great old ones from her shelves. This book is great! It has love, suspense, mystery. I think that anyone would enjoy reading through this!
I really liked this story. I bought this book when I was 14 and a new member of the Church and this was my first introduction to LDS fiction. It is an adventure novel where the main character is female... good book!
Very exciting - never a dull moment! I think I liked it because the 'heroine' is easy to relate to. She's stuck in a situation she doesn't understand surrounded by people she doesn't know if she can trust.
I haven't read this since I was a teenager, but I remember really enjoying it then. I read it a couple times. It's fast paced, has adventure and a little romance in a foreign country (Jeruselem I believe). I recently was thinking about it and want to read it again.
I just re-read this for the first time in years, and it is still one of my favorites. Great book that's set in Jerusalem--the writing is a bit "dated" sometimes, but I still really liked it.
