The Write to Remain Silent is the 6th book in the Poppy Perkins cozy mystery series. This story was quick and enjoyable enough, though not my favorite. I really don’t care for the way Ophelia, one of the main side characters, constantly degrades the police on the whole, nor do I admire her enormous ego. I’m all for a strong female character, but she is just arrogant and demeaning to all but her crew. She also seems to posses unnatural superpowers, though there are no paranormal elements to this story. I cannot believe she can intuit who criminals are, or have such an extensive knowledge about so many areas from Greek mythology to art. The crime in this story was also a little dull and resolved a bit too easily. Ophelia, Poppy and the support team readily take down a world renowned art thief duo in an abbreviated time frame. I will continue with the series because they are easy and relatively entertaining, but I hope for better in the next story.

Poppy has grown in her writing life. Cutting her own mother off from her life was the best thing she could have done, hence enabling her to prosper without the negativity. Ophielia saw in Poppy herself a few years earlier, and now Poppy has found in Valentina, a copy of herself, so openly and willingly taking her under her wing. As Poppy does so she realizes how much she has learned from Ophielia, Taylor and Fiona, making her a much more confident woman. Jasmine weaves the friendship, love, and learning through each episode she writes, creating a fun loving mystery you thoroughly enjoy and can hardly put down. Imlooking forward to Read You Like a Crook with excitement. A definite five stars

The Write to Remain Silent is Book 6 in the Poppy Perkins series by Jasmine Webb.

It's Wintertime in San Francisco but things are heating up for Poppy.

One of her books is doing really well, but she has a mystery to solve.

Her and Ophelia are on the case of an art gallery theft.

I really enjoyed this fast-paced mystery. It is nice to see Poppy finally getting some success with her writing. The mystery is well written and perfectly paced.

Highly recommend this book and the entire series.

#6 Write to Remain Silent

I really enjoy the Poppy Perkins stories, however, I was confused by the story line in chapter 22. Poppy is pushed into a swimming pool but ends up walking out of the hotel a short hour or so later with only her jeans hems wet. I live in Alaska and if this happened, she would still be soaked and experiencing hypothermia especially with the cold described. I think when she changes prior to the trail, she could have changed at the LLB and stuffed her other clothes in her bag but this wasn't the story line.

Uplifting And a good mystery!

Poppy and her work colleagues investigate fascinating cases with flair. Pilot's fledgling career as an author adds more characters and depth to the Ms. Webb's books.

There are minor editing issues, not enough to deduct a star!.

Looking forward to Poppy's next adventure!
