Orc Outcasts #2

The Orc Blacksmith's Bride

Rate this book
When Ivy’s father is killed suddenly, she’s left with no choice but to move in with her drunkard uncle. Living with him soon becomes unbearable, and Ivy longs for her freedom. That desperation sends her straight into the arms of a con man. His promises of love are worthless. Leaving with not only her coin but her maidenhood as well.

Ivy, now scorned by her community, is left once again at the mercy of her cruel uncle.

Four years later, Ivy is resigned to her callous fate as she and her uncle are forced to live on the outskirts of their village. With their new home being dangerously close to the forbidden swamplands, it’s no surprise when Ivy comes face-to-face with one of the feared creatures who call the swamplands an orc. Instead of being met with inhuman brutishness, this orc demands she be his bride and promises the only thing he wishes to lay to claim is her heart.

Evrin usually sticks to the swamplands. He only travels to the outskirts of his sanctuary for the routine task of retrieving precious metals. The errand is as boring as it is customary. When he stumbles upon a human female picking berries, he can’t believe his luck or the rampant, primal need urging him to claim the curvy red-headed beauty.

Outcasted from his clan like all other unmated males, Evrin may only return if he brings back a wedded and bedded bride. Curious about his soon-to-be-bride, he is content to observe her from afar and wait for the right time to claim her. That is until he watches her slip into a white gown and fears the worst has happened. Unable to let someone else make off with his bride, he captures her without a second thought. Evrin vows to keep her safe and to make her his even as she fights against him.

However, as their connection soon becomes undeniable, Ivy realizes there is more to this creature who stole her than meets the eye. Will Ivy allow herself to succumb to their mutual desire? Or will the scars of her past prevent her from ever trusting her heart again?

K L Wyatt’s work is getting better. Still poorly written and edited even worse, but the characters and smut are improving, so that’s something

I recieved this book as an arc and i‘m leaving this review voluntarily.
I really enjoyed this quick, smutty, fluffy romance. Although it isn‘t very long we still get some back story and you really get to fall in love with the characters. It takes a while for the smut to hit.. but it‘s worth the wait. The gorgeous curvy FMC has a lot of spunk and the MMC would move heaven and earth for her.
Can highly recommend this book and i‘m really looking forward to the next book in this series.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I so far have read all of K.L. Wyatt's books and she doesn't dissapoint. This new book is a quick almost fluffy, smutty romance.
If you need a in-between book look no further, this book has a feisty FMC and a MMC that would do everything for her.

This was a great story. Short but nonetheless a great story. Poor ivy went through a lot but I’m glad she found Ervin. Well I guess he found her. Their relationship was so cute. They were kinda scared to lose each other without knowing it. She just kept thinking her life before Ervin is what she deserved but Ervin knew she deserved better. He was just scared he would lose her. I thought it was funny when he faked being lost just so he didn’t get the chance to lose her and she was thinking it was because he didn’t want her. It was an emotional roller coaster. Lol. There is spicy after all the tension but it is on the lower end. I did like the ending where we got to see the characters from the first book so that was great. I cannot wait to see K.L. Wyatt continue this series and I can’t wait to see the rest of the orc’s stories.
Thank you to the author K.L. Wyatt for letting me part of her ARC

This book is a really cute, short read. You meet Ivy, who got played and duped by someone she thought was the love of her life and was going to marry her. He stole her money and ran away. Ivy’s uncle is her only family left and is a mean drunk. Then theres Ervin, hes an Orc and blacksmith, he trades with humans for metal and one day stumbled upon Ivy picking berries by the swamp - which most people steer clear of. He decides that she is his and no one else is allowed to have her. Ervin kidnaps her out of her uncles home and takes her back to the swamp. They travel to “The Chosen One” and learn about each other on the way. This is instalove on Ervins side (Ivy takes a few days to catch up), the spice is fun & the story ends with a set up for the next standalone which i absolutely love.

ARC Review :

This book was so fun!! K. L. Wyatt is the one that actually introduced me to monster romance… and since then, I read 5-6 novella in April… it’s all her fault 🙄😂

This book was cute and spicy!! The spice was great without being overboard, there was a lot of tension, a little bit of angst, and some cute scenes!!

I loved the characters too!! The FMC was fierce and a badass and I loved her!!

I also loved the MMC.. 🤭
Who doesn’t love an Orc that will fight and kill for you? This man was adorable!! He wanted to make sure that the FMC was okay, and comfortable, and he was so in love!!

I’m excited to read the second book in this series!!

In summary, I would recommend this book to anyone that loves monster romance and that wants a quick and spicy read!!

'The Orc Blacksmith's Bride' answered just about every question and concern that the first book in the Orc Outcast Series left me with. I liked being able to spend more time with the MCs! I really liked how you get to know more about Evrin's family and the rules of the clan, and I'm definitely excited for the political intrigue between the Swamp Orcs and Mountain Orcs, considering the epilogue...

The sex was fun, I loved Evrins restrained desire. The mate he's always wanted, inches from him, but he knows he cannot have her unless she gives herself to him. And boy, does she! I love the bit of "sword play" in their marriage ceremony. Would have been nice to have more moments of spice, but I suppose that's a fair trade for more world and character building.

KL Wyatt has done it again!!!

This book was so good. She really knows how to give the orc different personalities. Ervin was so different compared to Kal ftom the first book. You can tell she cares about the monter character just as much as the human character. I loved how we got about Ivy's backstory in this book. Her character development was great. I really liked the plot line she took with this story.

The ending to this book really did feel more like a series book compared to the first book. This book made me wish she wrote longer books because i wouldn't mind her writing style for 200+ pages. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

This was definitely better than the first book. The plot was more fleshed out and the characters had way more time to change and grow to like each other. I really liked Ivy and her backstory, I do like Evrin but I think I prefer Kal from the first book.

The character development was good, the writing definitely improved. The smut was written better but some of it still gave me the ick, I'm not really into the breeding kink thing so that's probably it. I'm definitely going to read book 3 when that comes out.

The good: This was a very cute fluff romance where the curvy FMC is kidnapped and grows to love the MMC. Lots of possessiveness and (oddly enough) respect of boundaries. When it comes time for there to be smut, it does not disappoint.
The not so good: It is almost too quick of a read. I would have appreciated a bit more backstory for each character, as well as more of their time getting to know each other. There are also many grammatical errors that should have been caught before release.

ARC review- This is a fantastic story. I adore how she has made these characters love themselves through loving each other. I read her first book in this series and I must say the two play together so well!! The spice is amazing and romantic, the plot is just perfect. I can’t wait to read more from K.L. Wyatt, she has become a favorite author of mine.

This followed Ivy, a human who is an outcast in her community. Her path crosses with Evrin, an orc blacksmith living in the swamps with the other male young adult orc outcasts. This was a quick, instalove novella. It took me about twenty five to thirty minutes to get through and served as a nice little palate cleaner between longer books. Enjoyable and straightforward!

As always, K.L.Wyatt does it again with a spicy 🌶 story to get anyone out of a book Slump.
Loving the FMC  and MMC  POV and the character history that you are developing is amazing. Also, that Sword  Scene 😳  let's just say the imagination is  awesome... 🤭

Can't wait for more of the series to come.

This was the perfect quick, sweet, smutty monster romance book! The author did a good job making sure we got enough background info to really love the characters, especially since it's a shorter read. The MMC was so sweet and adoring, and the FMC was curvy and spicy and I loved it! Looking forward to the next book!

So... Swords, am I right?

I'll be fully honest, I wasn't a big fan of the first half of the book. It felt a little too similar to the first book, so my hopes weren't exactly high. But in the second half of the book, I did enjoy their bonding and the raw emotions they had. It was a cute story. I'm just hoping if there is a third book in the making, it doesn't start the same way.

Oooofff, that was sexy and spicy!!🥵🥵🌶️🌶️🔥🔥

I was afraid that the abuse would be more on page than this, but it wasn’t so that makes a 5 stars read for me!!!

The scene with the sword was HOT! I don’t know why!😅

Cute, short romance. The plot is very direct with no side quests, which I would like to see in future books. The characters were ones that I would love to learn more about...I guess what I am saying is that I would have liked this book to be a bit longer.

Due to its length, there's not much room for character growth or development. It's a fated mates/instant love story, with very little difference in character voice between the alternating FMC and MMC.

***I received this book as an ARC and I am writing this of my own free will***

I enjoyed that this book was on the shorter side, and could be read in one sitting. It was spicy 🌶️ but not overly spicy and the story flowed well with the spice! Overall 6/10

Again, a really short book focused on a super short period of time but it had more going on than the first book so that's positive. I liked the dynamic between Ivy and Ervin, it definitely wasn't smooth sailing but it became smooth pretty quickly.
