Extract :

That night, around 2:30 a.m., we were abruptly awakened by blaring sirens and announcements on the hotel’s PA system, urging immediate evacuation.

“This is an evacuation warning.”
“This is not a drill.”
“Please evacuate the hotel immediately.”

“We made our way through the corridor, down the fire escape, and into the open car parking space facing Bath Road. I could see hundreds of people around me, who had also just evacuated the hotel, some running out in their nightgowns and some naked, as the splitting sound of the loud horn pulsated in my ears.” "On that damp, cold night in London, we all stood helpless in the middle of the night in the left and right car parking areas. After a brief period, we saw the bomb squads and London Police, come rushing in with the fire engines blaring.”

“Few of us travelled to Canada, and attended the trial. We were seated, in an area barely 15 feet away from where Malik and Bagri sat, during the trial and for days, we sat there watching the killers of our families.”

“I will never forget the expressions on the faces of those two criminals, smirking, knowing that they were responsible, for the murder of my family and all 331 innocent souls on board that ill-fated Air India Flight 182. Throughout the trial, they sat with smirks on their faces, seemingly triumphant, while looking at the crowd and the families of the victims.”

My family just died again,” “They killed 331 people once more,” and “This was the gravest injustice inflicted upon the victims of the Air India bombing!”

As CBC News reported : But Sanjay Lazar had no trouble summing up how they felt in one, biting sentence.”

“Today, once again, 20 years on,” he said, “we have lost our families all over again - this time, to the Canadian justice system.

Just finished reading On Angels 😇 Wings by Sanjay.Lazar .
This is book 1 of the trilogy .

It definitely can’t be easy to pen down memories of your loved ones in such a detailed manner after 38 years of loosing them in such tragic circumstances.

The reader can actually feel the gamut of the emotional turmoil in the authors life .

Starting off young in an unknown industry even if you know people can be very daunting. To survive the pain thus far and look for hope and survive on that and fight for a cause for others and ones deceased family is truly commendable which requires lots of strength ,faith ,courage ,commitment and guts .This is the story of Sanjay .Lazar .

I also admire the author for taking on the law degree in challenging times and as he says in the book, that he doesn’t want people to be wrongly advised as he was ,in certain situations during his life .
And hence he’s there to advice people who need it so that they don’t make the mistakes he did .

Sanjay also addresses the levels that relatives will go to to to grab property that doesn’t rightfully belongs to them in these unimaginable circumstances hence a reader may find many things that they may relate to in the book .

I think when a tragic incident like the explosion of Air India flight 182 happened ,it didn’t matter whether you knew the people on board .What kicks in is the human instinct to empathise towards all ( known or unknown) and that’s what I felt while reading the book so many years on …

The author amongst other issues has highlighted the downside of not knowing about inheritance and succession law and hence due to the other legal challenges he has faced he decided to study further so that he can advise others about the pitfalls of not knowing the legal aspect and also how family can turn sides when money is involved.Rightly said people will come out of their graves to inherit .

The book is about the authors personal loss ,hope ,the fight for justice denied , a bungled criminal investigation amongst other underlying issues . The first part of the trilogy traces through the author’s childhood, the Air India flight 182 explosion, his role as cabin crew and being part of the union in Air India and how this unfortunate incident of the bombing shaped and changed his life forever .

Thank you for writing this book .I think you are a very strong courageous and resilient human being to be able to do this .Despite so many years down the line I’m sure the pain will never go away .

However writing about it and letting people become more aware about this tragedy and how you and many have survived thus far only to be able to tell the story ,may be a bit of a fitting tribute to all the angels 😇 in heaven who lost their lives in this senseless act of aviation terror .

If you were amongst the first 100 to have ordered the book you get a signed copy by the author .Thank you Sanjay .Lazar for my signed copy of the book .I am eagerly looking forward to reading the second book ( The Blood of Angels )as and when it is published .

The reader is left with many questions to ponder over :
What if the nationality of the departed souls on the ILL fated flight was different?
What did the innocent victims have to do with politics and power to suffer this fate and many more ….

This true story is a must read .

In the realm of real-life tragedies turned into powerful narratives, "On Angels Wings" by Sanjay Lazar stands out. This book, more than just an account of the catastrophic Air India 182 Kanishka bombing, is a testimony to human resilience and the relentless pursuit of justice. Lazar, known for his work in aviation and law, brings his personal and painful journey to the forefront in this gripping book.

Lazar's story unfolds with the 1985 bombing of Air India Flight 182, a tragedy that claimed 331 lives and marked one of the deadliest aviation terror attacks pre-9/11. As a reader, one is drawn into Lazar's emotional world. His descriptions of the trial and his family's loss are particularly moving, evoking a range of emotions from anger to empathy.

The book's major strength lies in its authentic portrayal of a tragedy and its aftermath. Lazar’s connection to the events adds depth and credibility to the narrative. While the book is a compelling read, some readers might find the detailed descriptions of legal proceedings a bit overwhelming.

Personally, the book resonated deeply with me, particularly Lazar's unyielding spirit. His journey through grief and his fight for justice is both heartbreaking and inspiring.

On Angels Wings written by Sanjay Lazar is the first book of a trilogy which gives a true and detailed account of the bombing of Air India Aircraft in the year 1985. The author lost his family and friends in this heinous act of terrorism. This is the story of that crime and how the victims never got their due justice. In addition to that, this is the story of the resilience and courage shown by the author throughout his life.
The book recounts the life of the author and his family, the brief account of the incident which shocked the entire world and how the young author dealt with the grief and despite all the odds through his grit and determination became a successful and complete individual whose life story is motivating and inspiring.
The author has done painstaking research in bringing this first book of the trilogy which is evident in its detailed account. The readers would learn a lot of things about the aviation industry in India, how Air India functioned, and how the author played an important part in the administrative affairs of the cabin crew union, among other things.
As the author has told in the book, the next instalment will deal with the tragedy and give a detailed account of how it was treated by the international community and how the perpetrators were able to remain scot-free for a long period. I am looking forward to reading the next instalment of the trilogy. Kudos to the author who made it his mission to fight for justice and for writing this important book which talks about love, loss, grief, resilience, and firm determination to fight for justice. Very Deep Heart touching Memoir

On June 23, 1985, when Kanishka Aircraft was bombed and passengers went missing, not only many families were impacted but also their lives were shattered.
I had to stop reading this novel so many times as I could feel the pain and agony of the author, it's one novel that is etched in history now because of not only the way the Author portrays the grief and loss, but also instills optimism, courage and inspiration in the readers. The story narrates how the incident has made the Author so strong and positive even after this terrible incident. As a pilot, Lawyer, and a responsible citizen the contributions of the Author are tremendous not only to the Aerospace Industry but to the complete society for bringing such hard facts to light of the public.

Misfortune and struggles have always been with the Author starting from losing his younger brother to his entire family but none of this has deterred his confidence which needs a salute. The detailed way he described his experiences made me connect deeply with the painful emotions and could visualize the tragedy literally in front of my eyes.

I feel the bombardment, the investigations, the stories, and all peripheral incidents just made this book an amazing read, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to get inspired by the Author's life, because one message is so profound in this novel, that no matter what happens never lose courage to fight back.

Some tragedies change the way the world perceives justice. We can say those tragedies just break our illusion of a perfect world where getting justice is the natural order of things.
The bombing of Air India Flight 182 by Khalistani terrorists has been one such tragedy in which the victims were denied justice. The book On Angels Wings by Sanjay Lazar takes you through the heartbreaking journey of the author who not only lost his entire family in the tragedy but was also denied justice.
Through the book the author is calling out a callous system where the terrorists gets protection and the victims run from pillar to post to get justice. By recounting the most tragic tale of his life the author has spoken for the kin of all the victims who have perished in that cowardly act of terrorism.
In a world that's increasingly facing more and more terrorist attacks, this book is an eye opener for those in authority to stem the rot in the system.
For a normal reader like you and me, the book is a window to the world of a victim, who has withstood the tragedy and emerged as a survivor. It will help us to work towards a system that's more just and fair. A system that's empathetic towards the victim and not the criminal.

On Angel's Wings by Sanjay Lazar is the first hand account of a boy's journey to become a man after losing his entire family to the bombing of Air India Flight 182 in 1985.
When we read through the book the first thing that strikes us is that terrorism destroys lives in unimaginable ways.
Each of the victims in that flight had their own personal reasons to be there on that flight and the death of each one of those has devastated many in their family. In a clear cut manner the author puts out that terrorism has no place in a civilised society. Anyone who supports terrorism directly and indirectly is a villian for the entire humanity.
The author puts forth precisely that killing innocents is not the way to coerce governments to meet their demand and there should be zero empathy towards terrorists and the ones who support terrorism.
The book inspires you to fight for justice even when the entire system is against you. It shows the path to how to stay strong in the face of adversities, how to deal with your trauma when justice is denied and how to stand up again to fight.
Overall a highly inspirational book that will leave you teary eyed but at the same time mentally strong to face adversities in life.

Mind boggling, electrifying and thought provoking

Terror, fear, loss, resurrection, quests, struggles, justice, and injustice are interwoven throughout the pages of 'On Angels' Wings. We will be rendered speechless upon realising that the author has recounted not merely a narrative but rather a testament to the perseverance and fortitude he wielded in his own life.
The plot revolves around the horrific tragedy of the bombing of Air India Flight 182, which claimed 331 lives, including 86 children. Through the eyes of a vulnerable child at the time and later a resilient young man who had suffered irreversible loss as a result of the tragedy, we are given an emotional account of the event and its dire consequences. His ability to remain resilient in the face of adversity and maintain an optimistic outlook imparts us with important lessons about tolerance and compassion. Feelings of pride and motivation abound as he pursues justice. Being part of a trilogy, this book will undoubtedly encourage you to read the other two so that you can personally experience a banner headline that we once read but forgot.

" On Angels Wing" by 'Sanjay Lazar' is based on true event of the bombing of the Air India "AI-182 Kanishka Aircraft". Through this volume you can experience the struggle and pain of a boy who lost his whole family due to an 'aviation terrorism'.
What you can learn through this read is that there is no such boundary of a crime or of criminals, and also that time is not at all trustworthy. Anything can happen at any time. As a result those who are fighting for justice should look into the matter more precisely and should not ignore the pain and suffering of any of the victim. The readers can experience the deepest grief of 'Sanjay Lazar' losing his father, mother and his terminally ill brother.
The most amazing and strengthening thing about the book is how the author gathered the courage to pen this particular memory of his life into the pages of this book.
The pages are engaging enough to make you turn it over and over again with its colloquial use of language. The way it's is portrayed is both inspiring and at the same time is heart wrenching.

This book portrays the devastating impacts of the Air India artificial intelligence 182 Kanishka fiasco. This book, the principal in a set of three, is a motivating story of steadiness and the quest for equity as well as being an arresting personal history.

Sanjay Lazar, the creator, capably portrays the conditions paving the way to the awful event that occurred on June 23, 1985. 331 individuals were killed in the besieging of the Air India trip off the shoreline of Ireland, 86 of them were unprotected youngsters. The tale of a youthful person who, despite difficulty, makes progress in mending his harmed soul and it is both sad and rousing to seek after equity.

Lazar writes in a convincing manner that investigates his sentiments and encounters exhaustively. There's no denying the torment and inconvenience he felt for a very long time; his story is unquestionably moving. Lazar portrays the human soul's triumph over distress in On Holy messenger's Wings, which is one of the book's most remarkable highlights.

The inspirational aspect of Sanjay Lazar's story is that it highlights not only sorrow but also perseverance, bravery, and resilience. Lazar's recovery from adversity to become a successful pilot and lawyer is evidence that the human spirit can persevere in the face of despair. This book is illuminating; it tells the story of one man's journey, including his struggles, wins, and defeats.

Sanjay Lazar in particular, one of the key characters, is essential to the story. The depth of Sanjay's character and resolve are demonstrated by his unwavering pursuit of justice, his participation in the Kanishka criminal prosecution, and his subsequent battle before the Justice John Major Inquiry Commission.

The author's writing style is praiseworthy as it skillfully combines the search and rescue operations, court cases, and a son's pursuit of justice into an engaging story. Despite the book's deep subject matter, the reader is kept interested in the chapters by the author's clear writing style.

On Angels Wing by Sanjay Lazar is a victim's journey of fighting the injustice that happened to him, the justice that was denied and his own fight to be the light to many who suffered injustice.
We all know the tragic bombing of Air India Flight 182 over the Atlantic in 1985. This book takes you through the heart wrenching tale of a boy who lost his entire family to terrorism.
It's an eye opener for all human right activists who fight for justice for the criminal ignoring the pain the victims have gone through.
The book is also a medium for governments to understand terrorism has no borders and they need to cooperate with each other in eliminating it, rather than encouraging it.
Lastly for a common reader like this book is so inspiring on how to fight back when things are going against you.

Books have always been a great way to express our emotions and put our thoughts into words.

The Air India 182 Kanishka bombing off the coast of Ireland on June 23, 1985 took the lives of author's family and 331 innocent people. The author has went through a lot after the incident that shook his entire life. He took it upon himself to get justice for all the innocent lives that were lost and gave it his all to prepare for the case of his life. Even though the quest for justice wasn't served but the efforts of the author are worth admiring for. The author has successfully managed to build a great life ahead for himself. But the wounds are never forgotten.

This book is a reminder that the incident shouldn't be forgotten and that the people who lost their lives will always remain in our heart. A recommended read!
