I loved this series… however, I did not like how the author dealt with Katie and her children in the end… I will never recommend her or this series to anyone… which really saddens me, because up until the last part of the book this was definitely one I would have recommended… life is hard and there is no magic that should ever take away pain from humans at such an extraordinary cost… she did not show that cost but I believe that was not how the story should have ended… 😟
It is always hard for me to say goodbye to my new book friends. So, when Flash of Love arrived in my Kindle, though, I was excited to see it, I put off reading it for several weeks. I just wasn't ready to have the series end. Now that I have finished reading it, let me just say that Flash of Love is the most poignant, moving story I have read in this series. Blair Bryan has always had complete control over my emotions with every book I've read in the Aura Cove series. I have laughed out loud at the witty interactions between the main character, Katie, and her best friend Frankie. I have ranted at her great-grandmother, Zoya. But only while reading Flash of Love had I been so emotionally invested that I sobbed as though my heart was breaking. It was worse than when I watched those horrible SPCA commercials or a Hallmark Christmas movies. It took me three days to finish Flash of Love as I needed a break from the heart-wrenching emotions the story invoked. Flash of Love should come with a warning label to have a box of tissues readily available while reading. However, Blair still delivers a happily ever after ending. AMAZING!
This final edition of Midlife in Aura Cove does not wrap everything up in a neat little bow. Rather, Flash of Love leaves fans with raised eyebrows and thoughts of future spin-off series. Very well done, Blair Bryan! Keep us guessing as to what you may be up to next!
Flash of Love, the ending book in the Midlife in Aura Cove series, is a beautifully written book full of magic , delightful characters and most captivating of all the power of everlasting true love. If I could, I would pack up and move to Aura Cove. Some place that magical should make even hurricanes stay away!
The series did start to grow on me—however the ending of the last book lost me, I will not recommend this series now. Katie going through with erasing the memories of a loved family members existence took it too far for me. This is very short-cited and sad. With Katie and Yuli’s knowledge of the spirit realm, working with Zoya finally facing the harm of how she dealt with a similar situation, and their connection to a world renowned medium—Katie should have come to the realization that helping her family through the grief back to the feelings of love would be for the best. Having a sit down with the medium to let the dead family member bring some closure to everyone and realize she still with them in spirit? I feel like Katie didn’t learn the greatest lesson at the end and flash forward made it seem like all was well—no major butterfly effect things from erasing someone’s memory. Disappointing.

YES, you should read this book! But I strongly suggest starting with the first book in the series, Hawt Flash!
I Loved this series SO much. The themes of empowered (figuratively AND literally) women taking on current social issues, with a big assist from Karma, was so satisfying. The characters came to feel like friends, the setting came to feel like home (I want the Island!) It was hard knowing that this was the last book, but if it had to end, I'm so glad this was the way. Blair Bryan, you are such a rock star!
Although Katie's and Zoya's stories are brought to a close, I hope we'll hear more from some of the other characters we met throughout the books...?
Watching Katie grow into her power was wonderful. I loved this series and am sad to be at the end. I look forward to Aura Cove adjacent books in the futur.
I completely enjoyed the emotional Ferris wheel of this story. Great non-conclusion to a spectacular series. I love how Ms Bryan is not afraid to incorporate very difficult issues into her story. It adds depth and meaning to a fantasy.
I've really enjoyed this series but omg, this final one had me in bits. So sad! Still great though. Make sure you're on your own when you read this one.
