Shova follows with Lafe although she doubts her sister's kidnapping is real. Sea storms, creatures and earthquakes seem to conspire against them but aid continues to appear from unlikely sources as Finn falls short with his limited abilities with the magic available to him.

Ronald H. Reynolds, a former cave guide, lecturer on birds, jungle dweller, and zoologist, changed his life in order to support eight sons and a daughter. After decades of writing for judge and jury as a lawyer, he is back at his old habits of daydreaming now that his children have taken their own paths.
