About the author

Rick Joyner is the founder and executive director of MorningStar Ministries and Heritage International Ministries and is the Senior Pastor of MorningStar Fellowship Church. He is the author of more than forty books, including The Final Quest, A Prophetic History, and Church History. He is also the president of The Oak Initiative, an interdenominational movement that is mobilizing thousands of Christians to be engaged in the great issues of our times, being the salt and light that they are called to be. Rick and his wife, Julie, have five children: Anna, Aaryn, Amber, Ben, and Sam.

The edition of this book I read was dated 1997, so I am sure it has been updated by now. The truth is that God's Word never grows dated. It is the same today, yesterday and forever.

Rick Joyner shares his prophetic experiences throughout this work. He gives guidance on operating in this gift and office today.

The thing I learned and liked the most of this book was the teaching about how if you are a prophet, you don't have to be like a prophet of the old testament, pronouncing judgement on the people. If we are to operate in the gift of prophecy or have the office of the prophet, then we should be operating in the fruit of the Spirit and especially we should be using the gift with the fruit of love. I think every prophet and prophecy should "speak the truth in love." (See Ephesian 4:15)

I love the book and it was good reading. It is also good instructions for beginners in the prophecy realm. He teaches you how to discern your visions and learn how to tell if it's from the Lord, Satan, or yourself.

great insights about the prophetic in general

The author haa definitely more to say than he wrote but the teachings in this book are valuable.

The prophetic comes from the holy spirit and whoever is a true prophet will reflect the fruit of the spirit.
