These journals are the private musings of a brilliant French poet from the 19th century and despite the apparent amoral feelings that come across from some his words, he carries the qualities that I both have and admire: apolitical, mystical, horror- obsessed, and against societal progress. Many of his entires are random thoughts that even if not connected to one another in any way, they are snippets of wisdom, questions and theories that reveal the inquisitive and vigilant mind of a genius.
