**( First I'd like to say thanks to the author for giving this book for free for R4R. )** I'm not going to get into specifics because if I mentioned anything directly to much it would probably spoil the contents of this small story. It really is a quick, short read. Basically, the plot is simple and nice. The characters are believable in their individual personalities. The concept is cool and different. I would like to see this overall idea continue because it is unique and could go farther.
A sweet and sexy story. I loved the main character, Ximena, and really felt for her situation. The emotion in this story was beautifully crafted. The ending, despite feeling a bit abrupt, was lovely and bittersweet. The little cultural details were a nice addition, and, well, how can you go wrong with sexbots? I'll definitely be looking for more from this author.
A soulful short story of the moment a woman realizes that her marriage has been over for years. Set in a futuristic Madrid that still carries the sexist trappings of today, Ximena is a strong character who can both mourn the loss of her man and still know that she will thrive without him. I enjoyed it!
A short look at a woman realizing that in order to be herself, she has to let go of her marriage.
I found Ximena to be extremely manipulative, so I can't honestly say that I liked her or could root for her; but I understood her desire to be her own person.
An interesting premise possibly better explored in a longer form. The shortness of the story and, hence, the paucity of exposition may have contributed to my not fully understand the ending.
