Dina Redmon is a novelist specializing in coming of age and romance/erotica books. She uses her life experiences for inspiration in her writing and has a unique style as she tends to write as though she is having a conversation with her readers.

One of Dina’s greatest passions is art and she feels that beauty can be found everywhere. She has many hobbies which include cooking, baking, crocheting, sculpting, painting and tattooing. Though she has many hobbies, writing is her favorite.

Dina’s love of the written word goes back to her earliest memories. She cannot recall a time when she didn’t have a pen or pencil in her hand. This love has inspired her to keep journals throughout her lifetime and she keeps them close at hand for constant insight and motivation.

Her love of art is second only to her love for children. She has been both a foster parent and a teacher. Dina taught art and life skills classes at the Boy’s and Girl’s club and maintains contact with not only her foster children but many of her students as well. Through the time spent with these children, they have become a large part of who she is and she loves each of them as though they were her own.

Her free-spirit and gypsy's heart has carried her on countless adventures for many of her adult years. She has lived all over the United States but is now settled in Upstate New York and is enjoying the quieter side of life.

I dont even know where to begin i guess i should start by saying i was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review. Ok know that that's out of the way. I started this one yesterday afternoon and around 10:30 my husband asked if i was coming to bed lol i said 5 more minutes and closed the kindle at 6:00 am i was up and reading it again i fell in love with the characters in this book i laughed i cried i got mad all those emotions rolled into one until the very end. Maggie is the kind of women that alot of people should think about long after they finish this book she overcame a lot of adversity to become the women she is and i admire all that she has become. I have this book on my kindle but will be getting a paper copy to hopefully be signed by Dina Redmond because well she has a new fan that wants to follow her journey. Thank you so much for a wonderful read one that i will always remember and think about. Way to go Dina Redmond. For those of you that are reading this review go ahead and like it and then pick up your copy u wont be sorry it really is a wonderful journey and i cant wait to read more books written by Dina Redmond.

This is a very well written and unique story. It is Maggie's story from birth to the present and reads as though you are reading her diary or journal. The descriptions throughout the book make it so you can vividly imagine everything as it happens. This is a story of finding love and acceptance throughout one's life. The story will move you to tears, make you laugh, and make you recollect on your own past or that of a friend that may have had a tough go of it. Maggie has a rough childhood that ends up shaping her adult life. She ends up in foster care and pregnant at the age of 17. She marries young and loses her baby in a tragic accident. Her biological family is in and out of her life. She moves around a lot and is able to be the glue that holds many of her loved ones together. Her spirit is strong and this story seems to be a therapy of sorts for her. I commend the author for tackling so many personal issues in a plausible and tangible way. I think many people can resonate with the main character.

By way of a review, this will be odd...but a must. I was an innocent teen when I started the "Flowers in the Attic" series...by the end of book one I hated the author, who could do that to kids...it was one warped mind that even thought of it and swore I wouldn't read any of the rest of the series...I was down to the last page when I discovered it was based on a true story...I bawled for those children...and had to finish the series to make sure they lived....Enter "To Speak of it Again" this did the same thing to me. I had to finish it to find out the author survived and thrived. Again and again the hits just kept coming...again and again, her inner strength saw her through. My admiration for this person continues to grow. I'm in awe of all she survived...I want to know more about this person, her inner strength, her survivability...I want an injection of that. Awesome Read!

Outstanding

Dina has a spectacular style of writing that is absolutely addictive. Her characters burst forth into your mind and heart. I have read both of her books, and although this one is so painful at times, it is by far my favorite. I sincerely hope there will be more in the future.

* I received a copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review. *

This is not the first book that I have read by Dina Redmond, but it is very different from some of the books that I have read. This book is more like spending a day with a friend and learning about them. It was more like a visit than a book and while it is so different from her other books, it is just as good. I enjoyed learning about Maggie and her life. and that is what this book is. It is a journey through Maggie's story from birth to the present. It's almost as if you are reading her diary or journal. The descriptions throughout the book make it so you can vividly imagine everything as it happens. As I was reading the book I felt anger, dismay, sadness, happiness and even thoughts of finding some of the people and telling them exactly how I felt about what they did to Maggie. The story makes you laugh, cry, yell, cheer and run through pretty much every emotion that you have. It was wonderfully written and throughout the book it mostly flowed. There were a few spots that I felt could have been shorter, and a few spots that I felt could use just a bit more details, but overall, I enjoyed the story from start to finish....or the spot where Maggie caught up to herself now.

I think that the author did an amazing job of making the reader feel as if they were there right along with Maggie. I also feel as if all of the characters were easily pictured, liked and disliked when needed. It was a journey that I was glad I took along with Maggie and her friends and I look forward to seeing where Maggie's travels, adventures and road trips take her next. This is a book that is best read when you are snuggled up with a cup of tea or coffee and you are ready to take an emotional journey right beside Maggie. Add this to your TBR list and make sure you have time to spend with Maggie, because you won't want to miss out on an amazing journey.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

To Speak of It Again is a chronicle of a young woman's life from childhood to the present. She starts off in a blue-collar household with loving parents whose personalities drastically, and for no apparent reason, change after they move to their home state of Minnesota. These personality changes impact Maggie greatly as her parents no longer seem interested in taking care of both of their children. Maggie moves from one bad foster care situation to a worse one. Maggie, the main character, seems to sabotage every situation she is in, and as she becomes an adult her bad choices continue with more extreme consequences.

The story is told in a chatty, familiar way as if the reader is at a coffee klache with a neighbor who cannot endure one nanosecond of silence and must fill the air with endless chatter. Maggie's tale, from abusive parents to horrible foster care system to extremely bad relationship and personal choices, is overwhelming in its negativity. It would inspire any decent person to consider becoming a foster parent. I cannot say that it moved me to tears. The plot of the story is more like a timeline of events in Maggie's life. Most people Maggie encounters become antagonists. Sadly, Maggie does not seem to learn from or own her choices/mistakes. While she does grow as a person, one has to wonder who she could have become if she had a better, more stable and loving upbringing. The ending, for me, was not a HEA, an overwhelming epiphany or blossoming, but an acceptance of what is and an acceptance that she (Maggie) was probably in the best position she had or would be in her life.

For some readers this will be a moving tear-jerker, but it was not a book that I enjoyed.

Maggie goes from being a happy, well-balanced child to a scared, abused child who tries not to lose sight of the happiness she felt before. Before they moved to Minnesota, before she had a new baby sister it was so different.
She is beaten so bad that she almost dies. When she is found by her teachers they put her in a foster home. Then she was rebelling and ended up in a detention center and never knew why, she did nothing to deserve to be here.
She is put into a wonderful foster home and she has a sexual experience once and becomes pregnant.
She gets away from the home for unwed mothers and gets into an accident with her boyfriend. She loses the baby and it devastates her almost to losing herself.
She meets up with her boyfriend, they marry and live happily. She learns to tattoo and works with Tango, who becomes a father figure. Then he admits he is gay.
She leaves him and meets another and moves again. She just doesn't seem to be able to find her life long love. She meets and moves again. Along the way she meets the most amazing people who put her life in a bit of order and gives her love that she is so desperately needing. The ending is a little disappointing and leaves you sort of hanging.
This is a good beach read.

To Speak of It Again by Dina Redmon was a hard book for me to rate. I finally decided on 3 stars because at the beginning of the book you want to see Maggie’s life go from bad to good like most other stories. I was connecting to the book at first but then it just kept going and things weren’t getting any better and it was kind of like someone just reading from their journal and adding a little extra in. It was just a hard book to relate to but it was well written. I will be giving Dina Redmon another try just with a different book.
