Our church did a Life Group (basically, just a small group) cenetered around this book. Everyone in the group has struggled with their weight and/or eating habits and almost everyone has tried to change this at one point or another. At the first meeting, the group leader asked how many of us have ever turned our eating habits or efforts at weight loss over to God. No one had.

I'd never thought about the link between God and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, but this book changed that. It's an excellent mix of medical information (the author is a doctor) and scripture-based advice. Each chapter is centered around a Fruit of the Spirit and how it relates to weight loss and healthy eating.

This book gave me a whole new perspective on weight loss. It's not about the number on the scale. It's about taking care of my body and honoring it as a gift from God.

If you are Christian and want to lose weight READ THIS BOOK! Every day consists of a scripture, explanation, prayer and a fact. I have read a few health/weight loss books and they all contain the same thing. How eating and exercise are good for you and your health. This one takes it a step further. It teaches one how to take care of themselves based on a Christian belief. To be better, To obey the commandments given to us, To have the holy spirit with us. I have never looked at weight loss this way, and it really opened my eyes. I want to be healthier not only for myself and my family but for my Heavenly Father too!

A very quick read, set up in fifty days and meant to be read one day at a time. I read it strait through for content and as a practicing Christian who is overweight she helped me realize how I need to put Christ in my life more fully. Besides coming to this realization the author also helped me understand how I might accomplish this and the proper attitude I have to have towards weight loss. A very good read, and hopefully I can apply the things she talks about and overcome the flesh with God's help.
