NEVER FORGET: A city girl. A small town boy. A summer they'll never forget.
Spending the summer at her Grammy's in Lilac Bay, Devon, is city girl Alexis 'Lexy' Edwards' idea of hell. That is, until she reconnects with her childhood friend, Jen, and meets Alec Johnson. Alec is the kind of guy Lexy knows she needs to stay away from. He's the village flirt, ridiculously hot and very dangerous to her self control. But there's a problem – she can't seem to keep him out, even though she knows he'll break her heart. As Alec slowly strips away Lexy's defences and the two embark on a summer romance she never wanted, their feelings grow to more than either expected. But nothing lasts forever, and reality intrudes. As her world is shaken to it's core, Lexy's self made prediction comes true when she discovers she's spent six weeks surrounded by secrets. Kept out by her family and the only guy she's ever trusted, she falls apart. And when Grammy tells her that 'you might not end up where you wanted to be, but you'll always end up where you're meant to be,' she has to figure out if her meant to be is back home in London, or if it's been in Devon the whole time.
HOLDING ON: Living in London after spending almost twenty years in a town with a population of three hundred would be hard on anyone – and Alec Johnson is no exception to the rule. When Alec followed Lexy to London, he knew his life would change drastically. He just didn’t know how much. With Lexy’s friends and admirer to contend with, he has to show there’s more to the country surfer boy than his ability to ride the waves. With his own shameless admirers, he has to keep Lexy’s trust – and despite her love for him, that’s no easy task.
Beneath her tough girl exterior, all Jennifer Mason has ever wanted to do is paint. London’s School of Art can give her that, and she couldn’t be happier she’s finally breaking free from Lilac Bay. What she’s not happy about is having to leave Carl behind – or his reluctance to visit her while she’s studying. Their relationship is put to the test as living on her own for the first time and university take their toll on Jen. After all, three hundred miles is a long way to be away from your boyfriend when you’re eighteen years old. And it’s even harder when you can’t keep your eyes off your best friend’s older brother.
ALWAYS REMEMBER: How long does it take for a long-distance relationship to break down? Sixteen months. When Jen and Carl put their relationship to rest after Christmas, Jen’s biggest problem is going back to London ten days earlier than planned – and her ever-present attraction to Samuel ‘Bing’ Edwards. Bing has no idea why Jen left Devon so fast. All he knows is that he wants her as much as he did the first day he laid eyes on her – so spending time with her while Lexy is still in Devon isn’t exactly a hardship for him. When he finds out she’s single, the only thing on his mind is finishing what they started at his dad’s fiftieth birthday party. Feelings that have been a long time building between the two explode, and they both find themselves sucked into an easy yet passionate relationship, with Bing determined to prove to Jen that she’s it for him. That she is The One. But in a city like London, the odds are stacked against them, and there’s always that one person ready to stir things up… And Jen doesn’t know how much of that she can take – even for the guy she loves more deeply than she ever imagined, and eventually she breaks. Bing isn’t down with that. He wants Jen, and he wants her by his side for good. Jennifer Mason must learn that Samuel Edwards doesn’t do giving up. Especially not when his forever girl is involved.
**New Adult contemporary romances, not suitable for anyone under the age of 17 due to strong language and sexual situations.**
Emma Hart is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of over twenty novels and has been translated into several different languages. She first put fingers to keys at the age of eighteen after her husband told her she read too much and should write her own. Four years later, she's still figuring out what he meant when he said she 'read too much.'
She prides herself on writing smart smut that's filled with dry wit, snappy, sarcastic comebacks, but lots of heart... And sex. Sometimes, she kills people. (Disclaimer: In books. But if you bug her, she'll use your name for the victims.)
I've had this one on my Kindle for quite awhile. I didn't pay much for it -- and the price was right for the complete set at 99-cents so I can hardly complain. Still yet, even though it started out a fun and fast-paced little romance between the city girl and the country guy (who also happened to be a really smexy surfer as well). I'll admit there were some cute secondary characters, who also got their happily-ever-after, along with a few enjoyable moments but for the most part, this was very juvenile and didn't have much storyline to it.
I love picking up a fun, sexy, romantic, easy read when I’m in a book slump. They always get me out of it and into my next novel. This was a really great read and had those steamy moments I always crave when it comes to romance books like these. I do think some of the characters were a little basic and did some generic things. But I am sorry to say I would’ve slapped Alec if he kept calling me princess and falling in love with a girl like 3 weeks after meeting her ?!?! Makes no sense to me. But the writing was really good and I love this author so I’m going to give it 4/5 because I think some moments were just too cheesy for me. If you really want a breezy read With those heated sex scenes and fun romance I suggest you pick this up !!
'Never forget': Sehr schöne Liebesgeschichte.
The first book is amazingly good. I actually bought the first book and was so impressed I had to purchase the entire series. The last book is cute but not as good as the first book in the series. I mostly like it because I am already invested in the characters from the first book. But it was still a pleasant read. 5 stars for the first book and 3.5 stars for the last book. The middle book is more of a pamphlet interlude which joins the other 2 books. It was very intriguing but I can't rate it as a regular. On the whole, I would definitely recommend this book.
I loved these books and I was glad I could purchase them all together for a great price I love Jen and Sam were my fav I was gunning for a HEA for these 2 they had me in fits of laughter throughout the whole series Alec and lexi were lovely too love a HEA and an awesome epilogue highly recommend this series
I enjoyed this series but found it a bit slow at times. Although it was sometimes predictable, I loved the love story of all the characters. I think Alec was my favourite and I just wish we saw more of him and Lexy in book 2. Overall, I give it 3.5 stars.
I have to add that my favourite books by this author are The Love Game and Playing for Keeps, these should definitely be read!
5 stars just for all the witty banter alone. Sweet love stories of young people that are intertwined but I want more! More of the parents and more of Saph and Mitch! Either way... If you love stories that keep you chuckling with romance on top this for you!
Look below for my reviews of book 1 and 1.5. Book 2 was wonderful. Far better than book 1, maybe because they are older and I found Lexy really immature and frustrating in book 1. Sam and Jen were perfect together.
Great series....so glad I waited for the set to come out to read them. Love Emma Hart...I think shes a brilliant writer!!! The book was well written and the characters were amazing. Love the romance between both Sam & Jen and Alec & Lexy:)) Would highly recommend!!
3.5 stars for this one. In the last book, Jen was way too weak in my opinion, majorly over-reacting with the major conflict in the book. Willing to throw in the towel knowing Bing was not at fault. Just an ok series for me.
I really was captivated by this book. It was very interesting and a little sad in the first one, but they kept Grammy alive in the other. Everyone ended up with who they should have. I recommend this series to everyone who enjoys reading.
A lovely little series of books full of fun and laughter.. Alec & Alexis are such a sweet lovely couple but when it comes round to Sam & Jen those guys are hilarious! As always any book written by the fab Emma Hart is definitely worth a read!
I loved the first book with Lexy and Alec. Gram was a hoot. I even liked the idea of Sam and Jen. I feel like some of the issues were only partly told. I really would have liked more of Lexy and Alec rather than the series ending up being more about Sam and Alec.
this was a great series and I'm glad they were all bundled together. I was disappointed the third one didn't say any more about Alec and Lexy but the epilogue was great.
These were the first books I have read by this author and I enjoyed them. I loved that they were set in Devon. I'm a Devon girl myself so when places were mentioned I could imagine everything perfectly. I feel like Lexi shouldn't have taken so long to trust Alec and that it dragged a bit but by the end I fell in love with both of them and their story.
I absolutely loved Bing and Jen together!! Everything about them was perfect for me. And the whole 'Jen-Tude' was amazing!!
