I liked the way the author used his story of how faith played out in his life to inform each day's reading. I also appreciated the invitations to think, and the prayers at the end of each one.

Doctor Anderson draws from his relationship with Jesus Christ and his medical practice to bring together 30 daily devotional readings to get the reader thinking about heaven and how to live on earth in light of what we know about heaven. Doctor Anderson has a truly sensitive spirit, and he shares some amazing, touching stories that reveal that heaven intersects with life on earth more often than we realize. I was blessed by this short devotional book.

30 DAILY APPOINTMENTS WITH HEAVEN devotional is a companion book to the authors’ book by the same name. Each devotional starts with a verse and then a short story and then a thought. They are kind of like memoir in style and voice with really nothing spiritual about them. Devotional readers wanting solid food will want to pass this one by. Those looking for entertainment value about a doctor’s life and work with the dying might be more interested.
