Hazel I’m fine. It’s fine. Everything’s fine. My divorce is finalized and now that our house has officially sold, it’s time for a new life. Moving to from LA to New York City should be scary, but I’m strangely at peace with it all. But when my newly divorced status threatens everything I've worked for, is getting a fake boyfriend the answer to all my problems? Sebastian Sanchez was the last person I expected to offer to be my fake boyfriend and I’ve seen enough romcoms to know things like this always get messy. I’ll have to keep my feelings in check if this is going to work because he doesn’t under any circumstances date for real. But will that stop me from falling for him? Hopefully.
Sebastian I’ve always been a bachelor. With a rigorous baseball schedule, I don’t have time to date nor do I want to. Baseball is everything to me and I'd do anything to keep it in my life. But when the need arises for a girlfriend, I don't know what to do. Enter Hazel Parker. She’s insanely attractive and in need of a relationship as bad as I am, but we’re both on the same page that we don’t want anything more than a fake relationship. The question is, will I be able to keep my hands off her long enough to land a new contract or will I ruin everything by letting attraction get in the way?
This is a baseball sports romance about Hazel who is recently divorced starting her new journey and Sebastian who is a pro player trying to protect his image. The fake dating was an agreement made, as it was beneficial to both of these characters and let me tell you!!! The Tension between these two urrghhh it was hot! Don’t even get me started on the spice! It was so good as I cannot wait to read more of Tori’s work!! If you’re looking for a one bed trope you guys need to read this!
I really enjoyed this book. I received an ARC of it and couldn’t put it down. -Fake Dating -Professional baseball -Forced proximity -Found Family
The chemistry between the main characters is undeniable from the start. I definitely recommend this book and hope for an extended epilogue in the future.
Got the opportunity to read this as an ARC and I’m so glad I did! I’ve read a lot of books and this one kept me coming back for more! Couldn’t put it down. The tension and the spicy 🌶️ scenes were on point. I’m definitely not a sports girly or into baseball all that much but I never got lost in any baseball jargon or uninterested in the baseball scenes which is good. Only wished there was more back story for Seb with his family I think I would have understood him better. Very good first book it flowed well and the chemistry and love was there for sure ❤️ The end killed me! I can’t wait for others to read this and enjoy it as much as I did. And I can’t wait to read more from Tori ❤️
Tori Pritchett really knocked this one out of the park!⚾️🤍
I received an ARC copy and thank goodness I did because I could not wait to read this book and didn’t want to put it down.
You guys, I did not know I was a baseball girly until reading Tori Pritchett’s debut novel! I have never been a baseball girly and have always been just a football girly, but after reading this amazing book I will definitely be attending a game or two!
Caught Stealing was the PERFECT blend of spiciness and romance! I really enjoyed the realism of the evolving storyline and plot between Hazel and Sebastian! Literally everything from the forced proximity and fake dating to the accidental pregnancy and panic attacks and just all the real raw emotions! The whole story just made sense and I was so invested into their fake relationship!
I was beyond hooked to this story and only had to put it down once to get my kids to sleep because mama wanted to enjoy the spicy parts alone, if you catch my drift! It was definitely spicy, spicy at all the perfect moments!🌶️🥵😍

Caught Stealing was so captivating I couldn’t put it down! Hazel, photographer, finalized her divorce and moved to New York to start fresh. She’s focusing on her photography business, when Sebastian enters her life. He’s a professional baseball player who doesn’t date. Some time later at a meeting Sebastian shows up and introduces himself as her boyfriend. This is when the arrangement is born. He helps her and she helps him. No feelings attached. Tropes: ⚾️ Fake Dating ⚾️ Professional Baseball ⚾️ Found Family ⚾️ Forced Proximity ⚾️ Friends to Lovers The tension between the two and the spice is hot! Do they get their HEA? You’ll have to read it to find out. I can’t wait to read more from Tori and maybe get to find out more of their story. I received an ARC of this book.
As an avid…almost obsessive… reader my whole life I can confidently say that Tori Pritchett absolutely killed it with her debut novel!! Whether you’re a plot girly or a spice one Caught Stealing is definitely for you. This fake dating sports romance follows Hazel and Seb in their journey discovering themselves and each other. I couldn’t have read this book faster if I tried. Absolutely could not recommend it more. I can’t wait to see what she writes next
This was such a good book! I loved the chemistry between the characters. You can tell that the author really poured love into it. I read it within 3 days and I wasn’t ready for it to end. I can’t wait to read another by Tori.
Thank you for the ARC opportunity! Caught Stealing comes out March 28th (MLB opening day 😏). Fake dating, professional baseball player. I couldn’t put it down. Accidental pregnancy was thrown in there which is never my favorite. But for a debut novel Tori Pritchett knocked it out of the park. This has set up for the perfect found family series. As an avid baseball fan I always get nervous reading baseball books but you can tell Tori herself really is a baseball girly. I fell in love with Seb and Hazel and trust me you guys will too!!! 4/5 ⭐️
“Hey, so slight problem…” he starts, looking anywhere but in my eyes. “The room we got only has one bed.”
Tori Pritchett knocked this one out of the park, yall. In her debut novel she creates a perfect blend of love and baseball that will have you flipping the pages and not wanting to put your book down. The story line and plot is easy to read and digest, evolving seamlessly over the span of the book. She blends romance with the perfect level of realism; creating characters that struggle through every day problems that readers can connect and empathize with, that they may even struggle with themselves. Characters that steal people’s hearts with their wit and evolution from start to finish.
If you like baseball and romance, THIS IS THE ONE. You’ll fall in love with Seb and Hazel, their story. This book will steal your heart. And leave you wanting more, hoping that she will write a second and continue Seb and Hazel’s story.
After her divorce, Hazel packs up her stuff IN LA and moves to NYC, back into her childhood home with her sister. Her sister Cami welcomes her with open arms, excited for her to get back out there and get over her shitty ex, Andy. When they end up at a hockey game, Hazel literally falls into the lap of her celebrity crush, Sebastian Sanchez, star baseball player with the NYC Pinstripes. After a few glances and knee touches, he lets her walk away.
But then fate brings them back together when both of them need a fake relationship to keep their careers afloat - his to help his reputation in the media and hers to placate her judgmental wedding photography clients. Their tension is palpable and the burn is slow but steady, with some fun moments along the way. I really grew to love their friendship above all, so happy to read Seb’s respect and admiration for Hazel and her willingness to open her heart to someone after her divorce. It also helps that he plays the perfect boyfriend when having dinner with her parents, her ex, and his new girlfriend *chefs kiss*!
I’m not typically one for a pregnancy trope but in this one, it really showed us where Sebastian was in his career and what he wanted for his life going forward.

Caught Stealing by @toripritchettauthor is about Hazel and Sebastian.
Summary: Hazel is a photographer whose divorce is now finalized. She needs a change of scene and moves from L.A. to New York City. Hazel is a huge baseball fan and gets starstruck the first time she meets her baseball crush Sebastian.
Sebastian is a baseball player who needs to get his act cleaned up if he hopes to stay with the Pinstripes. One day after physical therapy, he runs into Hazel, the beautiful woman who literally fell into his lap a few days before. She is on the verge of losing a client so he steps in and pretends to be her boyfriend. They decide a fake relationship could be beneficial for both of them.
My thoughts: I loved Tori’s writing style and storyline. This was so well written and executed that it pulled me out of a reading slump. I didn’t want to put it down.
The chemistry was strong between Hazel and Sebastian that you knew it wouldn’t be fake long. The side characters are just as lovable and I hope this is a series where each player gets a book. The friendship between them is strong and I would love to see them again.
Thank you @toripritchettauthor for the ARC of Caught Stealing.
I REALLY liked this book!! It was such a fun read. It was cute and light and fluffy, and I really did enjoy every moment of it! I rate this 4.5⭐️! I only took .5 star away just based on plot. I would’ve like to experience maybe more within the plot. I kinda felt like I was just cruising through, maybe something to keep me on my toes a little more but overall, I enjoyed this and don’t have anything negative to say about it! Hazel and Sebastian are so adorable! They gave me all the butterflies and all the feels! I 100% would absolutely recommend this book to all my friends when it comes out.! I am soooo soo grateful to have been given the opportunity to ARC read this!
Sebastian and Hazel are too cute! The beginning was a little slow but once Seb and Hazel met, it was amazing! Hazel is just coming out of a divorce and Sebastian is a professional baseball player. Neither one wants a relationship but they make a deal to fake date.
Their “dating” is the cutest thing ever! I loved seeing the chemistry and the slow burn that finally leads up to *spicy time*!
I love an accidental pregnancy trope but I really liked how this one was right at the end of the book. It wasn’t the whole plot which was great!
This is Tori’s first book and I was not disappointed! I can’t wait for more!!
I love me a book with the fake dating trope and Caught Stealing absolutely DELIVERED! The tension between Sebastian and Hazel is so thick and when they finally give in…HOT DAMN 🥵 Seb and Hazel had me laughing, kicking my feet, giggling, talking to them out loud (like they can hear me 😅) and even crying (in the best way!).
This book checked ALL the boxes on my favorite tropes: -Fake dating ✅ -One bed ✅ -Sports romance ✅ -Fine as hell, dirty talking MMC ✅✅✅
Now close Good Reads, open up your Kindle, download this book and enjoy the filthy filthy words of Sebastian Sanchez😏
I enjoyed this fake dating baseball romance book! I love that Hazel thoroughly enjoys watching baseball and goes to Sebastian's games to cheer him on. I also love that Sebastian watches Hazel while she works as a wedding photographer. It is a fake dating "arrangement" but they both genuinely like each other from the beginning. Overall, a great debut novel from Tori!
I read this book in less than a day. It kept my attention from the first page. There wasn't a single boring part. I loved that you don't have to know much about baseball to enjoy it. It has some ✨️spicy✨️ parts that got me all tingly and ready to jump my husband 🤫 I definitely recommend it!
This was such a good book! I didn’t want to put it down I was so into Hazel’s and Seb’s love story. This is a store about baseball, fake dating, and discovering yourself. This book has it all and a little bit of spice.
Such a great debut novel! Tori told this story so well I couldn’t put it down! The chemistry between Hazel and Sebastian was perfect from the start; they complement each other beautifully. I do wish the ending didn’t happen so fast but we needed all the details leading up to it.
This book I wouldn’t put down!! I love baseball and going to games and this made me feel like I was actually the characters at the games. Such a good read!
WOW what a debut novel for Tori Pritchett! I couldn't hit 5 stars fast enough! Holy moly, I'm a huge baseball fan (the other NY team 😏) and I ate this book up! I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Hazel and Sebastian was to die for from the beginning. I also really enjoyed Hazel's sister Cami and how fun she was!
I loved reading about their fake relationship and how it progressed through a busy, stressful baseball season. It was nice to see Hazel so passionate about her photography and how Sebastian would be in awe just watching her work her magic 🥹
If you're a fan of baseball romance, fake dating, a slowww burn and LOTS of spice, this book is for you! Highly recommend to anyone I know. So excited to read book 2 😍
I would never have known by reading it that this was Tori Pritchett’s debut novel. I loved Hazel & Sebastian’s story!
Stars: 5/5 Spice: 3/5
Hazel, who has just moved across the country after her divorce was finalized, goes to a hockey game with her sister. Sebastian, a pro baseball player, has just arrived at the game when he meets Hazel. The next time they stumble across each other, they realize an arrangement would be mutually beneficial – but they need rules, and they have an expiration date. So what do they do when they want to throw their rules out the window?
Hazel & Sebastian gave me all the feels. Their chemistry and their tension – undeniable from their first scene together. Their relationship was actually really sweet, but this book was spicy! I gave it a 3/5, though as descriptive as it is, others may give it a 4 or 5. I absolutely loved seeing their relationship unfold though. I would re-read it. I would recommend it. And I will gladly read more of Tori’s work in the future!
TW: On-page panic attacks, mention of depression & anxiety, accidental pregnancy, childbirth (not in detail)
I received an ARC copy of the book and all thoughts are my own.
It’s more of a 2.5 but I’m rounding up since I feel that’s what’s em right. I’m not a writer or anything so I’m not sure how to describe what I didn’t like about this book. It’s a dual POV. The writer carried a lot of this story through the dialogue. Meaning we find out things that are going on through dialogue, but very little insight about what the character feels/thinks in that moment. A couple of times I even caught the author recapping what happened in one character’s POV in the other character’s, with no added information. First time I noticed it, I literally said out loud “yes we know, we were there…. /confused”. There was no conflict until the last little bit of book. I didn’t mind much but I guess I imagined the foreshadowing so I kept waiting and waiting but it never came lol and when the conflict came a main character was one of the worst people, and honestly not sure why they were forgiven so easily. The absolute DISGUSTING things that were said from this character, then when we get their POV, their internal thoughts absolutely did not match the words that actually were said. We get the real thoughts later in the other character m’s OOV during the resolution, which was weird because we were in that person’s POV directly after it happened. Also the resolution of conflict sucked so bad. Ugh.
Overall it was ok. Had the writing been better, it would probably be a 3-3.5 star. Contemporary romance ( is that what this is???) is not my genre (I love romcoms but I’m jonesing so bad for baseball romances. Why are they so hard to come by????) so it was never going to a 5 star or anything. But I did enjoy a lot of my time in this story. All the way up until the last like 15%.
I had the wonderful opportunity to dive into an advance reader copy (ARC) of this book, and let me tell you, I'm absolutely thrilled that I did! As an avid reader who has delved into countless books, I can confidently say that this one had me hooked from start to finish. It possessed that irresistible quality that kept pulling me back for more, to the point where I found it nearly impossible to set it aside.
The author masterfully crafted a narrative brimming with tension, and oh, those spicy scenes were absolutely on point! I found myself fully engaged throughout the novel. What impressed me most was how seamlessly the baseball elements were integrated into the story.
While I thoroughly enjoyed the journey, I couldn't help but wish for a bit more insight into Seb's background and his family dynamics. I believe delving deeper into his backstory would have enriched my understanding of his character and added another layer of depth to the overall narrative.
Overall, this debut novel was a stellar read. The plot flowed effortlessly, and the chemistry between the characters was palpable. And let's not forget about the love — it practically leapt off the pages! However, I must admit, the ending left me utterly devastated (in the best possible way). I'm eagerly anticipating the moment when others get to experience the same rollercoaster of emotions that I did while reading this book. Furthermore, I simply cannot wait to see what else Tori has in store for her readers in the future.
Start to finish such a cute book! The meet cute was adorable with this one. Hazel is a divorced wedding photographer trying to start over in New York living with her sister. She is a huge fan on the local pro baseball team and has a huge celebrity crush on one of the players. She goes to a hockey game once she is settled with her sister and they end up sitting next to her crush and a few other players. Sebastian is focused on baseball and baseball alone but has developed a rough reputation after some females he had flings with started nasty rumors of him. The two hit it off well at the hockey game and he is immediately infatuated with her. He runs into her again at Starbucks and proposes a fake relationship with Hazel. It is mutually beneficial for him to clean up his image and her to have a boyfriend to show stable relationship with her wedding clients. Their relationship develops into more and more physical contact and then it becomes physical with no strings/dating. It was hard to read his POV because of the reasons he felt like he couldn't be there for her with the issues he struggle with in his own family. I wanted him to push through that but it was a real struggle for him. She developed strong feelings for him and then when their relationship dynamics changed, he did not handle it well at all. The ending was rough as a reader but the way he pursued her and came to see his life differently was very sweet. Great character development and sweet HEA!
• fake dating • sports romance • friends with benefits • no strings attached • accidentally pregnancy • trigger warnings
Did I have a pending arc's to read? YES,. Did i choose this one? YES,. Did I love it? Hell YES,. Am I obsessed with another fictional man? F*** Yeah !!
From the start till the end the book was on fire 🔥. It never once left me off road. This book gave the literal vibe of fan following uk 🤭The chemistry between the main characters were undeniable and so hawttt to read. I'm glad that I had an opportunity to read the copy or else I might have regretted not reading ever. 🥹
The only thing the book could have would be more POV's of Sebastian and the back story of his life. Maybe it could have been much better to connect with MMC.
I have read a few books that have a FMC who is interested in the sport and who is not part of some pr team or sponsors or etc. I love Hazel and hats off to her, she has bared so many things and she is strong. Love ya darling 😙
📚 Book Review: Caught Stealing (Pinstripes Baseball #1) by Tori Pritchett ⚾️
At first, I thought the writing was a little on the simple side, but honestly, the story completely won me over. By the halfway point, I didn’t even notice anymore—I was too caught up in the characters and the fast-moving plot! At around 300 pages, this was such a quick, bingeable read that kept me turning pages.
This book has been on my TBR forever, and since I was lucky enough to get an ARC of book three (Double Steal), I wanted to dive in. My original plan was to read the series in order, but with release day for book three coming up on 9/1, I’ll be jumping straight into my ARC next so I can get a review up in time. I’ll circle back to book two later if it’s anything like this one!
Hazel completely stole my heart—she’s strong, independent, and carving out her own life in NYC after a messy divorce. And then there’s Sebastian, the All-Star baseball player who fell way harder than he expected in their “fake” relationship. 🥹 Their chemistry was everything.
The happily-ever-after was so satisfying, and now I cannot wait to crack open Double Steal!
I am so glad to have received an ARC!! This book was soo good!!🫶🫶
Let me just say how much I love Seb and Hazel! because they were amazing!! (side note! I need more of Felix because he was my favorite; you too Seb!!)
Sebastian Sanchez is a baseball player for the New York Pinstripes and Hazel Parker is a wedding photographer. Hazel has been single for a year after her divorce and when one of her clients doesn't think she's capable of doing her job, Sebastian goes to the rescue. Only, he also needs her help to fix his image to the public in order to get signed for a new contract!
As time passes, they each attend events for each other, and in one of those events things get intense (🌶️🔥😩) And then BOOM (the accidental pregnancy trope hits!!)
From fake dating comes a new navigation for both Seb and Hazel and ohmygosh, these two🥹❤️
Definitely recommend if you're into a good slow burn, one bed, fake dating romance novel!!
📖 ARC REVIEW Available Today!! ⚾️ Happy opening day Baseball fans!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️
“All this time I was afraid she would catch feelings. But instead, she went and stole my fucking heart like the best base runner in the league stealing home on a wild pitch.”
Tropes: ⚾️ Baseball Romance ⚾️ Fake Dating ⚾️ One Bed ⚾️ Accidental Pregnancy
💭 Tori Pritchett knocked her debut novel out of the park (pun intended). We love when two strangers decide to fake date, I mean seriously what could go wrong?? If a professional baseball player I found attractive asked me to date him I would say yes! Especially if they are as sweet as Seb. Hazel quickly became one of my favorite female characters. She didn’t let her divorce define her or keep her from the future she wanted. The chemistry / tension was so good! The ending was a bit quick for me, but I was still happy with how it came together.
✨Thank you Tori Pritchett for my e-ARC of Caught Stealing
HOLY SMOKES!!! Tori knocked it out of the park with this book!!!
We meet Hazel a recently divorced woman who decides to move across the country post divorce (Yas queen!!!) who has a meet cute with her favorite baseball player Sebastian!! Sebastian is a pro baseball player who needs to clean up his image to get a new contact. When the opportunity arises he has a brilliant idea for them to fake date!!!
My favorite part of fake dating 👀 WHEN THE MAIN CHARACTERS "ACCIDENTALLY" FALL IN LOVE!!!
The way the story goes with how they start as friends and pave the way for their relationship was chefs kiss!!
Sebastian struggles with panic attacks and I love love LOVE how Tori portrayed Sebastian with his panic attacks and how he deals with them, making it very realistic and relatable!! She is bringing awareness that hey men suffer with their mental health as well and we see how he leans on Hazel!
