The author makes it easy enough to understand the neuroscience of anxiety and has many practical exercises. If you have anxiety or work with people with anxiety then I recommend you read this book. I’ll be reading the Neuroscience of Gratitude next and have read another book of the author in this series. I enjoyed the scientific explanations because this allows me to explain anxiety in a better way.
While it was well researched, I felt like I needed a greater understanding or be a 2nd year psych student to really understand the terminology and what it was talking about.
Overall it had great information and really helpful tips for handling anxiety. I read it to help with anxiety as a result of childhood trauma which was touched on, but I think it's more for generalised anxiety. Either way there's something useful and helpful to take from it.
An overwhelming amount of information I'm not even sure what to do with. After reading a book like this, I am reminded that there is no substitute for seeing an in-person practitioner for anxiety and other disorders. Five stars for depth of knowledge and research.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book as it shed light in an inspiring way regarding anxiety. Backed up with scientific principle, the author does an excellent job laying out the keys to overcoming anxiety
I did like this book. I love learning about the mind and how it works, and my degree is in integrative healing arts, so this was right up my alley. A lot of great resources I can use in my life and as I help others
and reassuring. The exercises and tools are definitely beneficial to my anxiety due to the passing of my husband. This book lets me feel more in control.
