January 17, 2024Honored to have a sweet, seasoned romance story in this collection among fabulous authors; especially with the sales benefiting breast cancer research. Twice Upon a Love features Veronia and Wes, both divorced, both content with life. But is contentment enough? Find out how their lives change with the help of their grown children and a tiny Yorkie named Princess. Watch for these characters to make future appearances in my ever-growing military romance series.

I absolutely loved the story by AK Landow! She is my absolute favorite when it comes to romcom!!! And she once again did a fantastic job making me laugh my butt off, clinch my legs together, cackle with nickname of the MMC & bringing the story of one of her side characters a great story!! You will be swooning and dying to get into this friendship group more!!! Go grab yourself a copy of About Last Night to read next!! You will LOVE IT!

I’m gushing over this. Loved it! AK Landow is one of my favs and she once again came through with another amazing story - this time giving us the full story of one of her side characters we always wanted to know more about. And here AK has teamed up with some amazing storytellers. Amazing!

Quick and Sweet Reads
This is a collection of 2nd chance at love. The stories are short so get right to the point and enjoyable.
My favorite is Better Late Than Never by AK Landow. I am a fan of her Sisterly Love series and this is about Izzy, Melissa’s friend who never had an 💦
Izzy (age 51) is gorgeous, humble, smart, and sweet. Patrick Sawyer (age 41) is tired of the bar scene. And they have an instant connection.

This is a collection of second chance romances from a wide selection of authors, with twenty six different stories for you to read and enjoy. The characters have to try hard to see if they have a chance with the person they loved previously, or if they are too late. Some are quite steamy, whilst other may finish a bit before you might expect. I have reviewed a selection of the stories to give you an idea of them, but there are loads of different authors writing the tales, some I know, but a lot I had never read anything from before.
When Hell Freezes Over by Tasha Blythe
Sammy is writer, but after Tyler Gibbons broke up with her and went for another right in front of her, all she can write is lovers to enemies, yep that’s right! Her heart was broken and whilst her friend Clarice wonders if she still has a heart, she has volunteered to write and produce another community play. When her stage manager falls ill, the replacement is her nemesis, Tyler, who wants a second chance with her. She had made it plain how he hurt her in the past, with her language and a certain message, all over the place. He realised he made a big mistake and has now come back six years later to prove to her that he loves her. She is his soulmate and her friend Clarice was the one who brought the post to his attention, bringing him back into her orbit.

Abner Brroks-Caulfield used to be a player on the Rippton U’s hockey team until an accident ending his playing career. Now he is the announcer and the one who winds up the crowd into a frenzy before the game starts, as well as working with the Coach to learn how to maybe become one. Their opponents this day are Blackstone U and one of the visitors in the stands draws his attention. It is Charity Bliss, his former girlfriend and love, whose family moved away to Blackstone, Minnesota, and neither of them could really manage a long distance relationship. He has never forgotten her and with his accident afterwards, he didn’t handle stuff very well. Seeing her so close once more, he can’t concentrate on anything else, but she had left as soon as the game ended and he missed her. Weeks later, they are playing away at Blackstone and he has to wonder if he will see her again. She sees him before he even gets into the arena, but he is unwilling to allow his heart to be broken again and walks away from her. She won’t give up that easily and awaits him by the dorm room they’re staying in before going back home. Can she persuade him to give their love another chance?

Jane Raleigh is a wealthy woman who likes to steal jewels for the excitement it brings and has been working with Rex and his band, this time on a job that is about more than the jewel. It is what is hidden inside it that is priceless to the right people. As she is about to break into the safe, she realises someone else is in the room and it is her ex-Tony (Anthony) Marconi. They had been together and then one morning he just walked away from her without a word. He had come to realise he loved her and that was dangerous in his line of work. He gets paid well to steal jewels and if he doesn’t succeed, he doesn’t get paid! He wonders why she was trying to steal such an ugly jewel and why he had been hired to steal the same item. He heals up from his escape and then comes to find her, knowing she will expect him. He wants to prove himself to her and find out why she was on that job. Before she can trust him fully, he has to apologise for leaving her and show how he has been trying to come and see her all this time when they were apart. He will go back for the jewel and its hidden contents to prove he has changed.
Josette and the Count by Gabby Powell
Josette Fogel had the chance of her life to do an interior design job in an authentic Romanian castle, but her time there left her with a little bit more than she expected. She had fallen for a real Count, Anton Deva, but when her period was late, he didn’t take it well and she left. She had to return to Mission City and rather than move back in with her parents, she moved in with her brother Jacob and his husband Felix, her best friend and promised partner of some twenty five years! She has been left with pretty much nothing, except a bun in her oven, and needing to see a therapist. She is in the middle of a session with her therapist and finally gets to the point where she can reveal a few issues, when a knock on the door disturbs them. It seem Josette has an unwelcome visitor, who has managed to trace her here! Anton wants to speak to her, but she isn’t really willing to listen, after he made it plain he didn’t want a baby. Bu he tries to tell her she misunderstood him, but if that was true, why did he wait nearly nine months to come and find her? He gets back to her brother’s home before her, as she stopped for food, but he seems to think she wants presents, flowers and his money, when none of that interests her. He had a lot of family pressures to contend with, which she misunderstood when she mentioned she might be pregnant, and it has taken him time to sort stuff out for the best. He never gave up on her and their love, she just has to believe him.
Five Days by Stacey Deanne
Klay Marks has come back to his home town in Georgia, from trying to get jobs as an actor in Hollywood, a bit of a failure. He didn’t even return for his father’s funeral or when he was asking for him as he was dying. Too scared to be seen as a failure. He has come back with only five days left to claim back the woman he loves, Steffi Lowry, before she marries his brother, Perry Jr. He still acts all Hollywood, using his looks and dressing completely wrongly for where he is now. His mother isn’t exactly pleased to see him back and especially when she hears what his plan is. He doesn’t appreciate all his parents did for him, so he had the opportunity to do what he did. He has clearly only come home because he heard Steffi was getting married! He is selfish and only concerned about himself, doing what he wants without a thought for others. He left his mother’s house and returned to his motel, sending Steffi a text asking to talk to her. Except he isn’t just wanting to talk to her! She turns up like a fool, thinking she can tell him off for dumping her and leaving for his dream, never thinking about hers. Her actions once in the motel room with him and afterwards really disappointed me and made this my least favourite read of the whole collection. He certainly wasn’t thinking about her, even getting her back, only himself and she would have to pay the price with her fiancé and family. His brother certainly didn’t deserve what these two did!

I am a big fan of second chance romances. The pining, the longing, the regrets...I am here for all of that. This anthology delivers all of that and more, plus it's a charity collection!
All of the stories are quick reads - and there are plenty to choose from. My favorite was Letterman by Sofia Aves, which is a short Rippton U story. Abner has never forgotten, or gotten over, his former girlfriend Charity, so when he sees her at a hockey game wearing another man's jersey, he thinks he's lost her for good. But that doesn't stop him from wanting to see her again...

WOW, extremely well written, fast reading novellas. What a collection of stories. So much detail put into each of the stories by the different authors. Each one is made to keep your attention. Loved all the storylines/plots of each that they offer you hours of reading enjoyment. Letterman by Sofia Aves , gives you Abner and Charity story that will make you smile and happy for their ending. So many of these other stories will also keep your attention and pace your emotions thru them. Overall a fantastic group of reading stories. Would strongly recommend to everyone.

Second Time's A Charm: A Second Chance Contemporary Romance Anthology contains 26 stories by different authors, all with a second chance romance theme. While I haven’t read them all, I did enjoy C.M. Youngren’s short story London’s Savior, part of The No Surrender Series. The story follows Lance Marshall and London. Moving away at sixteen, London left everything and everyone behind, including her first love, Lance. Now it’s been ten years, and she’s returning home with their son Oliver to seek the help of No Surrender. What happens when London runs into Lance? And what happens when Lance realizes he has a son?

Abner Brooks-Caulfield, now Letterman after his knee was shattered in a game, plays to the crowd, getting them revved up for the game between Rippton U and Blackstone U. When Abner sees the strawberry-blonde hair of Charity in the crowd, the woman he loved before his trauma, the team pushes him to talk to her. This quick read is a great introduction to the series that will be out this year, it is a wonderful story in a collection of wonderful stories. Very highly recommended.

Second Time's A Charm: A Second Chance Contemporary Romance Anthology contains 26 stories by different authors, all with a second chance romance theme. Each story is short with some being sweet and others being steamy. I have not read all of the stories yet but what I have read has been entertaining and delightful. This book is loaded to my Kindle and inbetween other books I have been reading a new story from this anthology which I will continue to do until I have read them all.

This is an anthology of second chance romance stories. Whilst I haven’t read them all, I did enjoy the story by C.M. Youngren (London’s Savior) a short story in her No Surrender series.
This book focusing on London and Lance was a wonderful addition to the series. Lance and London met young, had a sweet and swift romance, but were pulled apart by circumstance and family. Can they find forgiveness and move forward… well this is this author’s specialty so what do you think!!

Charity anthology. Second chance romances.
Quick reads. Some are sweet. Some are steamy.
I enjoyed most of these stories. Some of them were not my favorite and eventually I was getting a little tired of the trope.
I didn’t expect that many books to be in this anthology and it probably would have helped if I hadn’t read this from front to back cover.
It might help if you pace these out a little bit and read something else in between them.

Great set of books from some really fantastic authors that will capture your heart in their writing but their characters as well. What is even better than the books is that this Anthology helps with Breast Cancer Research. So, it's a HUGE win overall. Great Books, Great Authors and Helping with Research.

I bought this book because I love to support benefit Anthologies & one of my fave authors, CM Youngren has a story in it! I really enjoyed CM's & JE Parker's stories (both 5 stars!)! There were a few others I liked & will probably read more of their books. Overall this anthology was ok but not one I will reread. I'm all about supporting good causes, supporting authors & promoting reading but I'll just say I read it & move on.

A ton of second chance, short romances by a ton of different awesome authors.
What’s not to like?
There are stories for every taste, and then some. Stories just long enough for those who can’t, or don’t want to commit to an entire novel. Just long enough for a lunch hour, waiting for the kids, the train on the way to or from work, or an afternoon in front of the fire.
Sweet, spicy, sporty, sentimental, or something in between, I really enjoyed this anthology.
The best part? Purchasing it benefits breast cancer research. Win/win!

You know you have your unicorn authors and AK Landow is it for me. This author writes the most funniest, sexy-ist , heartfelt stories. And Better late than never ,hits all points. We meet Isabella, friend of our lovely Melissa from About last knight and this one takes a turn and it's just so good. Of course we have our TMI discussions and suggestions, which makes it all the more fun. Don't skip out on this story and anthology!!

Second Time's A Charm is a wonderful collection of second chance love stories. I could not put it down once I started. Sofia Aves and a lot of other talented authors are highlighted in this collection of stories. Each story brought a smile to my face as I read. I highly recommend this collection to everyone.

Jack and Ginger by Annee Jones is eye opening. Second meetings are the best. Wynter Ryan's Broken Hero shows what it takes to mend the hero whole. Letterman by Sofia Aves involves a long distance relationship and miscommunication. Blind Date by Jane Suen is full of surprises for Ellie. All these stories are short and sweet.

This anthology has over twenty second chance romances that warms the heart and have you in these characters cheering them on to getting their second chances for happiness. I thoroughly enjoyed all these stories and recommend this book of short stories to the romantic at heart.
