I'm Amanda Kay, a married mother of two. I have a degree in Multimedia Journalism with a minor in Political Science. Writing has always been a way for me to release the stress of everyday life. After a while I decided I wanted to share my stories, but I wanted them to be affordable for all so after some careful consideration I decided that my E-books would always be just $0.99 cents (USD). Mission
My mission is to hopefully give readers a voice. As a teacher and mother of two I see the struggles teenagers and young adults face every day and I hope my stories can be something they can get lost in, but also find hope in.
Vision
My vision is to inspire every day. Not only through my writing, but also in how I carry myself and interact with people on a daily basis whether in person or online.
I was so lucky to have gotten and ARC and Wow what can I say I loved Crying Wolf. Amanda Kay has done an amazing job giving us a paranormal romance suspense story that we can love. So before I tell you A little about the book I will say that once this go Live you need to go one click It.
So this story is about werewolves and shape shifters. There is a war in place where these two groups do not live in peace. All because of some Miss communication and revenge.
Our main guy Hunter Jackson is the son of the commander. His father is in my opinion the most evil werewolf ever. Where hunter wants peace his father wants shape shifters to suffer.
Hunter is rallying for peace when he meets a beautiful women. Yes you can feel the sparks fly between Hunter and Amelia Breckon.
Amelia is a shape shifter. Oh but not just any shape shifter she is the one that has not only captured Hunter's heart but the attention of the commanders hatred towards the shape shifter.
So What do you do when you find yourself in love with someone that can be the death of you?
Well that is a question both Hunter and Amelia face. Can these two gain peace for both their kinds or will the both suffer trying to save a forbidden LOVE!
Trust me when I say this is a book you want in your collection. I've read tons of shifter/werewolves romances but this book gives it an awesome twist I loved every moment of this book and I'm sure you will too!
Hunter Jackson, oh man. What to say about this character? I love his so much! I have had the honor and pleasure of seeing this character be created and seeing his story unfold. I received my ARC copy once the story was done and fell in love from the beginning. Amanda Kay has such a great imagination and a way of bringing these paranormal creatures to life and making you fall in love with them, and at times hate them as well. These are truly Fairy Tales with a twist. You will fall for these characters and feel a great connection with them.
Crying Wolf is book one of The Hunter Jackson Tales, in this book we meet Hunter Jackson and Amelia Brecken. Hunter Jackson is a werewolf, more importantly a general in a werewolf army and son of the commanding officer. There has been a long standing feud with the shape shifters. This has never been a big dilemma for Hunter, sure he wants to find peace between these two but that is all. Then he meets Amelia, there is an instant connection. Something about her draws him to her and makes him want to get to know her more. The only problem? She is a shape shifter, more importantly she is a Brecken; daughter of the leaders of the shape shifters. From the very beginning both know that a relationship between them is impossible. But it also seems as if it's impossible to NOT have a relationship.
The struggles and obstacles that these two have to face to be together is wonderful to read about. Together they keep each other up and be stronger. Seeing these two together is amazing. The way the story unfolds and the things that are discovered about people around them is shocking. But in the end it seems to be very beneficial for their goal: for them two be able to be together. I will say, there are some moments when you will want to scream out and kill some of the characters, and there is a tad of a cliffhanger. But it's one book you will thoroughly enjoy.
Hunter Jackson will soon turn into one of your top book boyfriends and you will definitely fall for the tough yet sweet Amelia! I know I did!! I want a strong friend like Amelia. Hunter is a strong headed tough guy, but around Amelia he can't help but have his sweet and caring soft side come out. You will definitely be swooning over this couple. I cannot wait for the next book in the series: Shaping The Wolf. Go grab your copy of Crying Wolf today!
Amanda Kay really captured my attention with her much lovable characters, Hunter and his Angel, Amelia. These two characters are in such unfortunate and impossible situation you can't help but want to reach through the book and grab them and hug them.
Hunter is a General in the Wolf community. His latest mission from his father, the Commander, involves his lady love, which he just met. He knows he could never hurt Amelia, but also knows he can't go against his father's orders. It could mean certain death for him, which will leave Amelia vulnerable. In the end he must do the unthinkable, which will only hurt Amelia, however, to keep her safe he had no choice.
Amelia is surprised when she first met Hunter. She felt an instant pull to him, but knew they could not be together, due to their circumstances. She wants to trust Hunter but finds it difficult because of who he and his father is. There are several instances when Hunter scares Amelia, but she still finds it difficult to resist him. The love that Hunter and Amelia share is all consuming. The odds are against them and when Amelia finds out what Hunter has planned she is heartbroken and betrayed.
Amanda Kay really knows how to keep you on pins and needles. She leaves you wanting more and desperately waiting for the next installment of the Hunter Jackson Tales. The side characters also bring a lot to the story. I love Luke and Katrina and can't wait to read their own story. Although Amanda left the story open at the end I have my hand hovering over the mouse for when the next installment becomes available. Well done Amanda Kay!
Meet Hunter Jackson, the Hunter Jackson. He is the General of the Werewolf Army and son of the Commander. Meet Amelia Brecken, shape shifter. Not just any shape shifter either. The current Commander does not want peace between the wolves and shifters. He has his own mission to make them suffer. As fate would have it, Hunter, up and coming through the ranks has a different idea. He wants peace...and he may want more than just that. Hunter and Amelia are in love. Can their love and trust in one another be enough to overcome the impossible? (I really want to say the shit that's about to go down)
This book held me captive from the first page. I read this in an hour! That must be some new record for me. This book reminds me of Romeo & Juliet!!! Especially the movie with Leonardo DiCaprio & Claire Danes. I found myself trusting Hunter way too soon even when the laws of the world tell you not to trust him I didn't care. I just believed him! I'm a sucker for romance. I have to give it to Amelia, she is not annoying even though she knows something is off. You ever watch a movie and the man says "trust me just do as I say" and the woman is annoying and like "but I need to know" and asks 20 questions and you find yourself thinking "just do what he says, the killer is coming" or something like that? Amelia is not like that lol.
I just have to note the awesome word play with the title.
Where can I even begin.....Oh yea WOW! Crying Wolf is the first book of this series. In this book we get to meet Hunter Jackson and Amelia Brecken. Hunter is one of the most powerful ranking officers in his father's army. Their main goal is to take down the shape shifters. For years the two have tried to live in a truce but the commander just isn't having it anymore! He wants them gone and gone for good, the only problem with this is that Hunter has fell in love with Amelia. She is the daughter of the shape shifter leaders. They both know that they can never become a couple but they are willing to chance it for love. Hunter must do everything in his power to keep Amelia safe but also to never let his father know that he has fallen in love with the enemy.
Amanda Kay did such an amazing job with this story that you can't help but to fall in love with all of the characters! She has a great imagination and keeps the readers wanting more! Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down! It is such a different story then i have ever read before and I loved every minute of it! Hunter and Amelia have such a great connection and make the perfect couple! This is a series you won't want to miss!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a very well-written, easy-to-read story. It was so fast-paced that I finished it in one sitting. I loved Hunter and Amelia’s story. They had so many obstacles in their relationship, but they still chose to be together. Hunter did frustrate me with his temper and his evasiveness. I didn’t like that he kept Amelia in the dark about his plan. I loved that Hunter wanted peace between the werewolves and shapeshifters. He was willing to stand up for his beliefs against his father. I know in my head that Hunter was protecting Amelia by denying their relationship, but in my heart it felt like he was trying to hide it. Amanda did a wonderful job engaging my emotions from the beginning. I’m still a little on the fence about Amelia. I’m not sure how I feel about her right now. She seemed to be very quiet and timid. I’m hoping she’ll become a stronger character in the upcoming books in the series. The ending definitely left me wanting more. I can’t wait for the next book.
Crying Wolf is a short and sweet story about a shape shifter Amelia and wolf Hunter falling in love. The romance between the two was very fast, at times it was hard to keep up. I do see where the story is going, that in the end they will end up with a beautiful love story.
The book had some grammar and spelling errors, which at times had me confused that I had to re-read some parts. That is the reason why I gave it a 3. All in all, not a bad start for the series..I do wish it was longer though.
Ok so I'm not much of a great reviewer, so apologies if it's not good.....
Wow ok this book just got me sucked in!! I stayed up late reading it and kept saying to my self next chapter and I'll put it down, but let's just say it didn't work out like that :-D
it's really well written and the description just made it seem like I was picturing it play out in front of me while I was reading, so you can imagine how peed I got that hubby kept interrupting me lol
this book is mainly about forbidden love, and I really felt for Amelia and Hunter as it must have been so hard,
Amanda Kay you did it again!! I truly loved this book, I read this book in less then a day!! I can't wait for book 2!! I want more Hunter and Amelia and Brayleigh!! I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone!! I know I will be recommending this book to my friends and family!!
I am so in love with this book. All I can say is wow. If you haven't got a chance to read this book please do. It was short but I'm glad it ended where it did because it left me wanting more!!!
Crying Wolf is a paranormal tale of love that plays on the Romeo and Juliette story. Hunter Jackson is the Werewolf Commander’s son. The Commander is out for the Shape Shifters to be brought down. The complication? Hunter has fallen in love with the Shape Shifters’ princess, Amelia. So the question is, how do they make this work?
In the process of trying to get his father to see that making peace with the Shape Shifters would be the best plan, Hunter meets Amelia. Amelia Brecken is the head of the Shape Shifters’ family’s daughter, the princess. How is it that he could be falling for the woman that is supposed to be the enemy? Well Hunter doesn’t see things the same way his father does, he holds no grudges against them. He intends to make it possible for a relationship between them.
Amelia Brecken has been taught to fear the Werewolves all her life. The reason? The Commander of their army wants them dead. Then why is she allowing Hunter Jackson to cause her to develop feelings for him? She knows it’s because he isn’t like his father. He wants things to be peaceful between the feuding parties, just as she and her family do. She just isn’t sure trying to make a relationship work with Hunter is a very smart idea for either of them.
This is a fast paced, paranormal erotic story. You will find lots of steamy scenes throughout this book. There were some parts of this story that were a bit repetitive and there were some that just weren’t fully explained. While I liked the story idea, it seemed a bit to fast paced for my taste. This is the first installment in The Hunter Jackson’s Tales.
Another great book from Amanda Kay that I couldn't out down
Two world collied in chance meeting in hopes of peace. That of Hunter Jackson son of the Werewolf Commander and Amelia Brecken daughter of the leading Shapeshifter family but from the moment they shake hands they know there is a connection between them that will change everything. Will there love be strong enough against Hunter's father who is determined to destroy the shape shifters starting with his beloved Ameilia.
Gripping from beginning to the end. I have already started on the second book Shaping the Wolf because I have to know what's happening next
I really enjoyed the whole series of all three Hunter Jackson books! It was a fast paced supernatural love story. It is written in third person, so once you get used to reading it that way, it sucks you right in. I barely put it down, except to eat, sleep, and begrudgingly go to work. Definitely worth a try, especially for all you vampire, werewolf, and shapeshifter fans!!
I really had a hard time reading this! The storyline was good but the writing was a bit hard to stay with. I can not explain what I mean. I think with a better editor this book has a chance but right now it is kind of bad.
A fast paced love at first sight story. The story comes across a little rushed but is overall enjoyable. I loved it and couldn't put it down until I was finished.
