Amanda Kay really captured my attention with her much lovable characters, Hunter and his Angel, Amelia. These two characters are in such unfortunate and impossible situation you can't help but want to reach through the book and grab them and hug them.
Hunter is a General in the Wolf community. His latest mission from his father, the Commander, involves his lady love, which he just met. He knows he could never hurt Amelia, but also knows he can't go against his father's orders. It could mean certain death for him, which will leave Amelia vulnerable. In the end he must do the unthinkable, which will only hurt Amelia, however, to keep her safe he had no choice.
Amelia is surprised when she first met Hunter. She felt an instant pull to him, but knew they could not be together, due to their circumstances. She wants to trust Hunter but finds it difficult because of who he and his father is. There are several instances when Hunter scares Amelia, but she still finds it difficult to resist him. The love that Hunter and Amelia share is all consuming. The odds are against them and when Amelia finds out what Hunter has planned she is heartbroken and betrayed.
Amanda Kay really knows how to keep you on pins and needles. She leaves you wanting more and desperately waiting for the next installment of the Hunter Jackson Tales. The side characters also bring a lot to the story. I love Luke and Katrina and can't wait to read their own story. Although Amanda left the story open at the end I have my hand hovering over the mouse for when the next installment becomes available. Well done Amanda Kay!
