Magnus has built an empire. He is a king in 1292. He is a king in the 24th century. And there are centuries between that must be guarded. He and his family are living in the past, attempting to keep the historical record and the timeline orderly, and the succession of kings straight, but now they have a new villain, Asgall, who is coming to power. He has his eyes set on Magnus's family, he wants the throne. Magnus knows an Empire is very hard to hold. Can Magnus and Kaitlyn keep their family safe when their enemy's power is growing?
OMG!!! OH-MY-GOD!!! Intense and very engaging!! The cliffhanger is simply too much!!! I love that she blended characters from other series, and it was just fantastic!! I hope they continue in the next book, which I think should be available sooner, because I don't know if I can wait so long!!! I hated that she killed off one of the original characters, and I really, REALLY hope somehow he will come back, because I've always thought he had the potential of being someone very significant, like Fraoch. Diana has an uncanny ability to remember small details, like Fraoch's implant, and what might happen to it in the Middle Ages!! I think this is one of my favorite things about her books. More than once I've had to go back several chapters, or even several books to find the source, which always ends up with me reading at least one of two books again. My point is, her books are fantastic, unforgettable, and not released fast enough!!! Loved it, recommend it, and will read it again over the long weekend!!
I counted the days until this book was released. I'm a very slow reader, but finished this book in record time. I gave this book a 5 star rating because it was amazing, just as all the books in this series are. If you like history and time travel, you have to read this series. Never before have I been so captivated by a story or the characters. Diana has the rare ability to make you feel as though the characters are real! You feel like you know each and ever to of them. I can't wait for the next book. Thank you again Diana for letting me be part of this amazing journey! I hope it never ends!
Diana Knightley’s books all contain a lot of action, love (many types), humor, and plot twists that boggle the mind and The Dawn is no exception. While reading it the reader goes through a series of emotions: Happiness, love, deep sorrow, sadness, fear, and laughter. I loved this book (and the entire series) and highly recommend! This book is a continuation of the Kaitlyn and the Highlander series and is not a standalone book. The series should be read in order.
Diane Knightley has an imagination that is unmatched and the uncanny ability to give us characters that become an integral part of your family, so much so it hurts when you have to day goodbye at the end of the book. The entire series remains at the top of my favourites list, right next to The Outlander series, and inching higher with every new book!
Confusing at times , one minute we were in a certain time period then another a d another. It was mind boggling but well worth the time of reading this new book. I hope there will be another boom coming out so we can discover if everyone gets back home together and safe from all these crazy people. 😍😍
I truly enjoyed reading this story and I give it a 5 Stars review
Never have I believed that it would be so hard to read what I thought would be the Last book of a series I have been reading from the very beginning . Turns out there is nothing stopping Diana Knightley from keeping this glorious story going for yet another turn of the wheel . Thank you Diana !
This one was harder to finish than others in the series, but not the one that makes me want to throw it across the room. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to reach in and tear the head off of a lech pig. Always amazing writing that keeps he reader locked into the story, holding on tight.
Magnus and family are lost in different times. The vessels aren’t working. Asgall is controlling them all Diana Knightley is a wonderful author. I can’t get enough of her books.
I always make sure a series is finished so I never have to wait for the next book, but this one got me and now I'm so excited and upset I have to wait again! But this is so worth it!
Oh my god, that was brilliant, so many twists and turns. I love how we have Liam and Blakey in it as well. So sad about Sean, hoping they go back in time before his demise. This series just gets better and better, Diana Knightley you have done us proud again
I don't know how Diana Knightley keeps writing such excellent books. This book has everything, romance, mystery, intrigue, true family you make, and betrayal. I highly enjoyed it and couldn't put it down! I can't wait for the next one!
As the latest in the Kaitlyn and the Highlander series, the story just keeps getting better and better. I'm not going to recap the book, and if you haven't read the series, go back and start at the beginning - you won't regret it. This book, more than any of the others, is an emotional rollercoaster. I laughed, I cried, I threw my Kindle across the room, I walked away because I couldn't keep reading (then picked up where I left off 10 minutes later). Probably one of the best and I cannot wait to see where the story goes next. I started the series a couple years ago, thinking it was going to be a knock-off of that other popular Scottish, time-travel series. It absolutely is not. It's a wonderful series, that starts out with a bunch of twenty-somethings who really like to party, and develops them into loving, intelligent, captivating adults (who still like to party occasionally, when they aren't time traveling or doing other adulting things). There is so much love and friendship and family throughout the books, I only wish I had those relationships at that age! I'm so grateful for this ongoing saga and can't wait for #21 to be released (March 2025, I believe - I should be able to reread the series a couple times before that!).
This book continues a time-travel book series that I have enjoyed. The author does an amazing job of keeping each book fresh and the conflict strong enough to make me eager for the next installment.
