Sasha lives alone in the wilderness by choice. But something about winter always makes her cabin feel a little too empty. Her bed, too. But this year, she has attracted the attention of the Forest Guardian. He has noticed her, he has tracked her, and he will have her. Good thing Sasha is completely on board.

I bought this book and the two in the series that came before because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book cover! I thought long and hard about it because you know the saying...never judge a book by its cover. Well, I am glad I bought it! Rarely do I get to say that when the cover sells me, so let me say it again! I'm glad I bought it. So far this is the best story of the series. I really loved Sasha and Cern! This story was less Christmassy than the previous ones and more monster fantasy. If you have not read Adrian Blue you need to.
After not liking the second book I downloaded I feared this one may also be disappointing, but it's not! All three books were quick and straight to the point. Insta-love/lust - and for such a short story it fits well. (Well, Book 1 and 3 imo.) This book doesn't give much back-story to the Sasha and why she decided to live off-the grid, but it doesn't ruin the story. Same for Cern. I wonder if he is a creature of Norse or Celtic mythology?
A lady living alone in the woods (and doing well for herself, might I add) gets saved from a pack of hungry wolves by a great beast. Except he's not exactly a beast. Cern is big, powerful, and he likes what he sees when he looks at Sasha.
As it turns out, this isn't an issue in the slightest because Sasha also likes what she sees when she looks at Cern. She doesn't understand this attraction. She wonders if she's been alone in the woods too long when his mere glance heats her up, but she is definitely interested.
It’s in third person and I just wasn’t the biggest fan of these characters. But hey it’s a short read and some books aren’t for everyone 🤷♀️
So I’m just putting it out there if there’s Monster smut/Reindeer smut at least make the appendages interesting. That’s all I’m saying…kinda disappointed🤣
“She slid her hand down to the leather belt of his loincloth. What was under it? Was he humanoid or reindeer or something altogether different?”
I’ll save you the trouble…it wasn’t…it was just long 🤦♀️I was so intrigued but yeah the anticipation was for nothing.
Also, why was he so chill about her killing a buck? He’s pretty close to one himself…I was expecting a Tamlin situation when she killed it😅

Dash Away by Adrian Blue is a quick and enjoyable read. While the short length allows for a focused and impactful story, it also left me wanting more.
The premise of a forest guardian falling for a human is intriguing, but there's limited exploration of Cern's motivations and the specific nature of his powers. A deeper dive into the world-building and character development could have elevated the story.
Despite its brevity, the author's imagery is vivid. The connection between Cern and Sasha is sweet and heartwarming. However, the rapid pace of the story limits the opportunity to fully develop their relationship and the world around them.
While Dash Away is a satisfying read, I hope to read longer and more in-depth stories from Adrian Blue in the future.
I enjoy the different creatures in Adrian Blue’s books. I liked that Sasha was independent and self-sufficient. Cern, I like his name, is telepathic which is an advantage for Sasha. This story is my favorite, so far. The cover artwork is exceptional except when the women are in underwear only.
Like nearly all of the Adrian Blue stories I’ve read, I’m left sad when they’re over. In so few pages, such a great story is developed, and then it just ends. I really wish one day the author will expand some of them into a collection of linked short stories to expand on them!
Adrian Blue is my fav monster smut writer… but this one… it’s gonna be a no for me, dawg. I wanted to see what his Christmas stuff gave. gonna try something else. furry, animalistic creatures, wolves, REINDEER, whatever, I don’t like it! gives beastiality. also, I’m not into “she’s so smol 😥😥😥 & he’s SO big 🥵🥵🥵” trope.
So, this is the third christmas themed novella I have read. The first was Santa, then a rule cat ( plus a sad christmas tree) , and then a humanoid reindeer. There is not much christmas to do with in these Novellas, just the title of the creature/being.
For what it is meant to be it delivers. I liked reading this book it hit where it needed and was 🔥. Not much more I can say if you like short and hot books this is for you.
Tengo que admitir que me causo mucha curiosidad este autor. Pense que iba a ser super bizarro, pero me terminó sorprendiendo. Es una historia corta y bastante detallada. Esta bueno para un bloqueo lector.
I loved this just like I do most Adrian Blue novellas. The steam was steamin and spice was spicin....🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5🌶️. I'll definitely read the rest of the series. I would recommend if you're a monster romance fan!
I don't know that I can say I was disappointed because I knew what the cover was and that it was only 25 pages, but I've read fanfiction! I know that you can develop a lot in a short amount of time! This both didn't make sense and didn't have vibes

Dash Away was a wonderful fantasy monster romance story. He had been watching her and waited patiently until the time was right. The author Adrian Blue did a fantastic job spinning this story.
Who doesn’t love forest god smut? This is one of the author’s shorter micro stories l, but I still enjoyed it. Good pining, protective fmc who is kind but feral at the same time.
Would have been great if it were longer, but it was still enjoyable and hot.
It was shock and intrigue for her at first glance and an overwhelming sense of safety. It was very descriptive and a fun read. I enjoyed the surprise ending. Made me smile.
Another short and sweet. I really enjoyed this story, finding herself in the arms of a secret admirer was a delight and a wonder. More, thank you very much!
My first read from this author and to be honest the cover art of this book is what drew me in 😄 Short read, wish it was a bit longer but overall I enjoyed it.
