The Bratva King grabbed my voluptuous curves and knocked me up. He’s twice my age, and the most dangerous guy in the city. I didn’t know this when I accidentally spend one night with him.I didn’t know this, but then he kidnapped me and told me I have to marry him.I’m a naive girl, I didn’t know about ruthless Bratva guys with blood on their hands. But now I’m carrying the heir of the Bratva King. I’ve tried to run from his mansion, but he won’t let me escape.I’ve tried to defy him, but he tells me I have to obey. He wipes the tears from my eyes, telling me he will take care of me. He strokes the most vulnerable parts of me, making me beg for more. This is not a game of love. It’s a game of power and possession. Will he break me until I have nothing left but my growing belly? Or will he finally heal what he’s broken inside of me? The Milov Bratva play only one kind of one that is full of blood, cruelty, and power. Only their brides come to see another side of them. A side where they will protect the ones they love and die for them if they have to. Until you can’t do anything but want them for life.
Veda Rose loves getting lost in the intense, dark and suspenseful universes she creates. Although her characters can often be complicated and twisty, at the core of it all is deep and profound love.
Born and raised in Portland, Veda Rose has always been an introvert who could often be found deeply engrossed in a book. Or multiple books. So it was only natural that at some point she would embark on her own journey as a writer to bring to life her wild imagination.
When she is not writing or thinking out her next tormented love fantasy, she enjoys hiking and exploring unfamiliar places with her furry companions.
I'm an absolute sucker for Bratva stories usually. So I'm very surprised that this one did absolutely nothing for me, whatsoever. It was the worst thing a book can be - dull. The characters fell flat despite all of the tropes being there. At no point did I feel any connection to anyone & I couldn't have cared less what happened to them. I did read it to the end, mainly because I kept hoping against hope that something would improve.
The curious syntax & appalling attempts at "conversation" lead me to believe one of two things; either the author's first language is not English or that this is an AI generated effort. I'm leaning towards the latter as I find it hard to believe a real person could get human interaction so unremittingly wrong. Even the sex scenes were painful ( not the good kind either!), stilted & awkward & about as erotic as a shopping list. It will come as no surprise that I will be giving a wide berth to anything purporting to be from this author in the future.
The dialogue between the characters reads like someone who’s never heard Americans speak to one another. The slang and phrasing comes across as very unnatural. At first I kept thinking maybe bc the mmc is Russian so the author is trying to convey that, but even between the fmc and her friend it was just so stifled and weirdly formal. To me the dialogue read like a poorly written high school play. The storyline was ok, but there was very little chemistry or character development between the main couple up until the very end. There’s a lot of other books that do this same storyline way better. There’s also quite a few grammar and typo issues that are distracting. It’s a short book and I was still skimming it by the end to hurry it along. It was my first book by this author and idk if I’ll try another, maybe this is just a weak one?
I enjoyed the story but this is definitely not the author's best work. It's not as smooth when it comes to how the story flows and the characters could use some polishing.
Penny has the worst day of her life and to top it off her boyfriend has been using her to help his other girlfriend come out on top for a promotion she wanted. Penny ends up at a club with her best friend and has as wonderful night with Kervyn Milov, the owner of the club. When she finds out five weeks later that she's pregnant, she does what she feels is right as tells Kervyn. Kervyn starts making demands about her moving in with him and them getting married which makes Penny's flight instinct kick in. Can they make this work??
I really dislike when the main female character’s entire personality is “I’m curvy, and I hate that” despite all the men around her finding her attractive.
The dialogue is so weird and doesn’t make sense, it kind of sounded AI generated. Their relationship didn’t make sense. A lot of telling instead of showing. They skip sex scenes.
After the first time they were together, he just let her leave, and didn’t care enough to try and find her. The entire plot is she got pregnant but it’s like for half the book the author forgot the main character was supposed to be pregnant.
It read like something a high schooler would write. I only made it half way through and couldn’t finish.
The writing was the biggest issue. The timeline and jumps weren’t smooth at all on top of the grammatical errors and typos.
There were so many issues.
Him being the Bratva leader wouldn’t use protection for a one night stand? Yeah right His mom being rude because Penny was pregnant before marriage ?! She was a mafia Queen before.. she should know better Danil being mad because Kervyn kissed his wife and it’s a sine of “weakness” BS The whole thing about not being promoted because she’s curvy was not it either.
I could go on.

I really liked the premise of the story but it felt like it wasn’t fleshed out enough for me. It was told with dual POVs and the story does have an epilogue but the ending was anticlimactic. As there are a few spelling or misused words starting about half way thru. Didn’t really interfere with the story but does stop your reading cadence since your trying to figure out the word. No bad, but not excellent.
This was a good story, there were some typos. I could stand a little more heat in the descriptions of the naughty scenes. Love the suspense and the fact that the female character doesn’t fight to the bitter end in a situation that can be fought. I like that the possessive alpha explains why he seems to be Jekyll and Hyde in public settings. So yes I recommend reading this book!
I love the storyline and gradual way they full in love. They made a great couple. And her ex boyfriend, boss and the creepy Carmen, got what they deserved. And Penny deserved the happiness that she found with Kervyn. Loved the ending. Thank you for an entertaining story, it was good reading.
I loved this book, read it in4 hours. MS Rose detailed the character gets very well and made them all individuals and made it very easy to read and finish the book.
This was very choppy with poor editing. In the beginning of the book, the h’s boos is named Rosa and in the second half it is Rita. There are a ton of grammatical errors and poorly constructed sentences. This read like fan fiction written by a 15 year old.
So he is undoubtedly old-fashioned, but that just works for him!! Penny was having such bad luck and decided to have some fun, and then her luck changed. For better or worse, she found herself, and it was all thanks to Ker.
The Bratva King's pregnant Bride is the first book by Veda Rose I have read. Love when I find a new for me author, I really enjoyed the writing style, the story, drama, angst, the attraction between the H & h and the dynamisk in the family.
Really not a great read the storyline is dull and lifeless, the characters boring and uninteresting. This is more about the romance than anything Bratva but even that is just empty and bland. Just not an interesting book.
I really enjoyed this book so fool of interesting characters and a well written story that keeps you motivated to read every page without a break as you get so excited to read what happens next.
She’s about to be married and well off and she’s still jealous of her ex’s new relationship and still chooses to let Carmen hurt her feelings while her new finance speaks affirmations to her, and she chooses not to believe it. Very Pathetic
I. Loved this book. Keryne never backed down from his responsibility even when he fell in love with Penny. He wanted to slay all her dragons but she finally wanted to stand up for herself, can’t wait for the next book.
I did like this at first, I liked Penny but sometimes she did annoy me but her beau was a hit and miss. I really wanted to like him but something was missing.
DNF - how u except someone to spend the time reading a book you haven’t edited ? Re read and get to page 5 and tell me you’re happy with ya work . No thanks
very good read loved the characters. so love that penny got her revenge at the end with the people that wronged her. looking forward to reading the next book!!
