Introverted flight attendant Veronica Mills had no idea her life would change on a sunny San Diego layover. After more than six months of e-mails, occasional phone calls, and pictures, she gained a friend and confidant. For the first time in years, she felt comfortable enough with a man to share stories of disastrous dates and everything from the dangerous to the mundane.
For her, the feelings went further than platonic. But was she willing to risk a possible lifelong friendship for the uncertainty and pitfalls of a sexual relationship? Not that he’d indicated an interest in anything more.
After six months of sparse showers, rotten food, and sand in every orifice possible, Master Sergeant Joe Sanders felt good to be home and in civvies. It felt even better being with Veronica.
Now, all he had to do was persuade Veronica to take him out of the friend zone. The poor woman was about to learn a very valuable lesson- never underestimating a Marine on a mission.

I'm at a loss of words

This was a good (very good) short story. I can't hardly wait to read what's next. It's not too often I read a book that makes me smile or not want to stop reading (even at bed time). This type of story is new to me (as far as I can remember) but I LOVE Alpha men. Great short read.

I love military love stories and this one was no exception. Though, the synopsis describes Ronnie as introverted -- she's an outgoing person flight attendant. The story starts off with Ronnie hanging out with her friend and co-worker (Rita) at a bar. Unbeknownst to Ronnie she's about to come face to face with her pen pal Joe. A man in the military she knows through their frequent letters to one another. Ronnie is feeling more than a pen pal and though she doesn't know it, Joe feels the same way. Their face to face meeting at least confirms that the connection they felt in their letters is very real. You know the formula, Happy to Mad happens within 48 hours. This is Part One of a two-part series.

I realize that this is a novella, but there was so much more that could have gone into the story. I missed really meeting Mom & Inez. I liked the story and where it went, but I need more.

Aching for love

Ronnie wanted someone to love, someone all her own. She did not think Joe was her as anything else but a friend until his last time home, he made his intentions and feelings known. Joe made one crucial mistake, he was not forty coming with his personal life.

This was a quick easy romance to read. The couple had a light and easy way of communicating with each other. Ronnie has a good sense of humor that would put anyone at ease.

Steamy romance

If you're looking for a steamy, sexy, romance between a joy Marine and a gorgeous flight attendant this is an ok choice. You have to get past some editing flaws, if you can ignore them though, it's a quick way to pass a couple of hours.

This was a very sweet read! I usually feel that novellas are too short for my liking, but I was hooked and I loved reading John and Veronica's story. I must confess, this book has a few elements that I'm not usually drawn to, but I loved the main characters.

Finding Love

This is a very good short romance story. Even with it being a little short it is complete, it lacks nothing. Great storyline with a nice even and easy flow.

Enjoyable read

I loved the characters but the plot was a bit far fetched, although the narrative was fluent and easy to read.

Found this book for free on Amazon via Biters & Beasts Rock Your Kindle; this is my honest review.
Short romance with minimal drama but both are co-dependent in a bad way and they both need therapy.

Very short quick read. Very predictable and, now this is just weird, it brought to mind a book by another author (whom I won't mention) who also has a military lover named Joe and her name is also Ronnie. I realized that about half way through. Maybe that's why I only gave it 3 stars.
Having said that, although I received this book free in a "get to know the author" type of giveaway, it was enjoyable!

Good Story,For a Start

This was a good story with a great subject: military men-brave and sexy. Liked the way the story unfolded and even though the characters are from different backgrounds they didn't dwell on that. Instead the author swelled on their commonalities. There were some parts that felt skipped over (editing) and I would've liked to read more so the story was a little short. Would've liked to read on how the relationship between the main characters fully unfolded. Otherwise I would've given it 5 stars. Lots of chemistry between the two characters. Wanted the story to be longer.

This book has only 9 chapters, so it's a really, really quick read. Ronnie met and began a friendship via letters and social media with Joe, a Marine. Six months later Joe's hot for Ronnie and vice versa. Joe is coming home and just happens to now want to be officially divorced from Bunny. Ronnie doesn't know she exists.
Ronnie meets Bunny, Bunny makes Ronnie feel used, Joe apologizes in a limo, end of story.
Glad it was a free book. Oh, there's a part two...needless to say, I won't bother reading it.

A fast paced story about a marine who returns home with a desire to be with the woman whose letters kept him sane during his tour of duty as a marine. Of course complications, including an ex-wife, make this easier said than don't. It is an erotic story with tender moments. It will make you smile. This is apparently the beginning of a series that will leave you interested in the next installment.

Over all it was a cute plot and would be a really great story if... 1) the author would make sure things were written to match what was said before. 2) if the descriptions were not all the same. Change things up add detail. 3) The story wasn't so rushed. I understand this is a novella but it could have been better written.

Enjoyed my first read by AC Nixon. Loved the story of Joe and Ronnie. Friends before lovers...steamy read with an Alpha male and a fun loving adventurous leading lady. Looking to read more from this author
