Genesis revisited

It HAS been a long time, and I had only a vague recollection of the preceding stories. The character listing at the start was useful for orienting myself in the story. This book seems to be a standalone except for the fact that the story is rather thin for a standalone. Basically, we give the various Alice's their own avatar, and we watch their growing pains as they each incorporate their avatar. Meanwhile we institute some intrigue into the NeHaw society. We rescue some pacers, and invade phaser territory. None of the action is very tense so the book tends to be mellow. In order to explain all that has gone before, we get passages that remind one of genesis in that character begat other character who married third character who begat fourth character, etc. Although I could keep up with it, I wonder if those not familiar with the story would be put off by the genealogy. For recommendations, please do not go woke and start including various currently popular pronouns. If you feel compelled to bring in lesbian Alice, or investigate that relationship, please keep it toned down as a relationship that merely exists with no attempt to promote it or demean it while accepting it as a status that is no concern to others as long as duties and/or obligations are fulfilled. I am interested in learning why the phasers feel they have the moral right to strip a world. Although we befriended the pacers, they have a morality problem of their own. Are they good friends or will they turn out to be worse than the phasers? There's a lot of room for future stories, but please try to skip the bland. I like a little excitement in what I read. Also run a spell and grammar checker over you final copy. That'll catch things like Georga.

So Worth the Wait for Book 7! A New Twist with Each Turn (or swipe) of the page

C. Lamb apologized for the delay in getting this release out. The opening has a description of each race, world, species and personality should one or a new reader need it. I started to read it then abandoned it and dove right in! It took very little time before I was newly engaged in all the people and their dramas and all the interplanetary species. I would obviously encourage a new reader to begin with book 1 but if I were truthful, it may be accessible to a new reader starting here with AL:ICE Avatar. This entirely new chapter has many twists to keep a reader engaged. I'm just sorry the book ended.

Great space opera from a new writer

I admit, I read all 8 books as one giant novel. Though really, 1-4 and 5-8 really qualify as two. It’s an entertaining story, with adventure, humor, and devious aliens, and AIs with their own agenda. The first 4 cover earths recovery after a devastating alien attack knock the back to the 19th century. The second starts years later and deals with galactic exploration and the discover of a new enemy. Lots of room for more books and the author gets better and better with every new book. Kudos to Charles Lamb. You certainly have what it takes.

It’s been nearly three years since I read the last book and this might be one of the reasons why I found this quite difficult to get into. However the main reason was the structure of the story was very ‘bitty’ and at times the author jumps from one character to another almost at random.
However it was good to catch up with the story again, even though the author seemed more concerned with the ALICEs exploring sex, than how they were developing strategies to deal with their many enemies.
If possible I would have given 2.5 stars.

I like this series for the storyline, character and plot development. It is not an earth shattering book or series but it is an enjoyable read. This is the seventh book in the AL:ICE series and it picks up right after Book 6, with the main characters facing new threats, like the disappearance of one of their patrols, while trying to keep Earth safe. There are plenty of space fights and strategy, but also good moments that show how the humans and AI’s are growing and learning to trust each other even more.

Worth the wait

A satisfying conclusion to the current story arc. Each of the characters And the plot line fit so well together. The series could end now and would be pretty satisfactory however,He has left it open for the future continuation of the series as the characters grow. Whatever happens I look forward to it.

Hire a proofreader

The story is great 👍. I look forward to the next book. But really, hire a professional to read it first. So many errors. Very irritating to read. If I had bought a paper copy, I'd be very disappointed and wanting my money back. Keep writing great stories.

Although better than past in the series. Things always seem too easy and quick for the humans. One of the first things AI does when getting a body is ... sex. As always our main man gets with his favorite AI quickly and just adds another one to his girl tribe. If they try to make him the father to a AI hybrid next book, i am out.

The plot continues to thicken.

More aliens are joining the human alliance. It's easy to forget the the kids are all growing up. Tim was showcased here, but so many intetesting potentials are just around the corner. Excited for more.

Crazy good!

Charles Lamb has to be a bit crazy in developing so many diverse characters while exploring what it means to be human. Doing that and still keeping the story lines straight is a rare talent. Very good reading. On to the next in the series.

ALICE AVATAR

If you like alien invasions and very fast paced space opera this series by Charles Lamb hits all the right places I found it intriguing well worth the time to read.

Apparently the nehaw wiped out homosexuality as well.

These read like someone who very much lives vicariously though their main character. A harem of young babes, why of course.

The most irritating part though is the lack of editing. The author doesn't know what certain words mean and he misuses them often. Differ when he means defer. Passed when he means past. It definitely pulls you out of the world he's trying to create and makes you want to grab a red marker.

If a character is being introduced with the same name as the ALs it would be good to make sure you don't confuse the two. Several times the character Alice was written ALICE.

It's a decent effort and I've stuck with them though 7 books but it seems that quantity over quality is the goal here.

Alice: Avatar book 7

This is another good book to read. It is very entertaining just as the first six books were. I love all the characters that the author uses. to keep your interest to the last word. I can’t imagine what he will think up for book 8.
