Love weighted by secrets is a matter of life and death…
Lazarus...
Night after night, she haunts my dreams. A woman I don’t even know. Watching her die in my arms is too much to bear. I can’t sleep. I can’t focus. She is all I think about. She is mine to protect, but I need to find her first, and when I do, I’ll never let her go.
Leighton…
My best friend chides me about my mundane life of school and work. I don’t care. I enjoy my life of monotony. It may not be exciting, but it’s safe and secure - until he shows up. With one look, he’s turned my world on its axis. His intense protectiveness swallows me whole, and I can’t escape him…
A force they can’t explain pulls them close, but perilous secrets threaten them both. As their relationship grows, so does the danger. Lazarus’ nightmares might be coming true. Leighton learns the truth about the man she’s falling for. And if they don’t face their demons, they will lose their chance at happiness…
This is a dark romance novel. Please check the author's website for a list of potential CW/TW.
Lazarus has a prophetic dream in the middle night about a mysterious woman in danger. He doesn’t know who she is, so he sets out to find her and save her.
It’s very sweet how Lazarus protects her. I love how Lazarus falls first and falls hard. Him calling her “my girl” gets me every time. They bond over their traumatic childhoods and my heart cries for them and what they had to go through.
This book was great, but one of the things I didn’t like was how slow and confusing the beginning is. It was hard to stick with the book in the beginning because of how confusing it was. It wasn’t until later in the book that I really understood everything. But, I loved Lazarus and Leighton’s romance. I think they are perfect for each other.
Tropes: -stalker romance -age gap -touch her and 💀 -he falls first -morally grey mmc
Nightmare Girl is the first book in the Sentinels series and my first Genavie Castle book. This was a fun romantic suspense with sex hitman, stalker.
Lazarus has prophetic dreams about the same woman who is repeatedly in danger, and he knows he must find her and keep her safe. He locates his nightmare girl and quickly becomes obsessed and starts stalking her. Although, he considers it "shadowing" since he is trying to keep her safe.
Leighton is a college student who somehow manages to attract some creepy people. This girl can't stay out of trouble, and she needs Lazarus to watch out for her. Lazarus puts himself in her path and starts pursuing her. It doesn't take long for them to fall into a serious relationship since their chemistry is off the charts.
Lazarus has his hands full with keeping her safe, killing her enemies, and going after a group of shady guys that are drugging women.
I loved how unhinged Lazarus was for Leighton, and the spicey scenes were amazing.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW 🎤Dual narration by Stella Hunter & Oliver Highpoint, featuring JF Harding
The audiobook kept me invested, and Oliver Highpoint was a new to me narrator. Oliver and Stella did a great job with the spice, humor, and suspense elements.
Thank you to Must Love Audio for providing the ALC.
This story follows Lazarus who gets nightmares about Leighton and has to save her. Lazarus is your typical grumpy hitman with a marshmallow center while Leighton is your smut loving queen that is very kind. The way he protects her is just mwah. I loved that it was bit of slow burn and how he always tried to be honest with her. The spicey scenes definitely hit different and I loved the scene in chapter 28 .This was a sweet engaging spicy read with great characters and plot it's a definitely read.
I love dark romance. Adore it, in fact. It is one of my fav genres. This just wasn’t it unfortunately.
My main issue with this is that it read very YA but is marketed as a dark, stalker romance. Although the spicy scenes were spicy, the writing just didn’t fit the genre. For example, there are parts where the MMC is “asking” for information from someone but that bit kind of fades to black rather than show the darker side of him.
Also, the MMC was far too sweet! Like cinnamon roll sweet. He’s meant to be a stalker and a bit unhinged but I just did not get that vibe from him.
I also felt that a lot of the time I did not have a clue what was going on.
That aside, this really does have the potential to be a fantastic book as the storyline itself was engaging and had me reading to the end to see what happened. And that bar scene… phew! I think this is a good gateway book for people looking to branch out into dark romance.
4⭐️ ‘I appreciate your independence & would never take that from you in a million years but everything I am, everything I have is yours. All of it. The shirt off my back. Every penny to my name. The blood in my veins. My heart. My soul. All of it belongs to you. I love you, Leighton. You will never be rid of me. Whether I live or die, you will never be without.’ - Laz
‘If you hate me or worse, if you fear me, kill me now. I’d rather be dead at your feet than see fear in your eyes when you look at me.’ - Laz
‘My future wife was laughing beside me, & I’d gotten to pistol-whip a pervert. Best fucking Christmas ever.’ - Laz
This is the first book I’ve read by this author & I had a great time!! I love a good stalker romance & this book did not disappoint!! This was such a fun book, I loved the concept of Laz having prophetic dreams & I was loving the mystery/thriller aspects of this book!! Also the spice was spicing!! 🤭 Laz and Leigh were hilarious, they had me cracking up multiple times throughout the book, & I loved them together!! Also shoutout to Zeke & Elaine, they were my fav side characters & I literally CANNOT WAIT to read Zeke’s & Elsa’s book!! 😆 I wish the prophetic dreams were touched on a little more & I wish we got to know a little more of Laz’s past in depth but other than that I enjoyed the book!! Can’t wait to read book 2!! I would def recommend this book, especially if your looking for a fun, entertaining, easy dark romance read & would totally read this book again!! 🥰💖
I loved this so much!!! More specifically I love Lazarus, he is exactly my type. If you want a obsessed, unhinged, touch her and die, stalker mmc, you need to read this. The plot was good, it was kind of giving soulmates, since he was having nightmares about her dying before they even met, and it was love at first dream? Or first sight once he started stalking or as he calls it “shadowing” her. He’s a hitman, and she’s a girl who is literally a magnet for perverts and a-holes. So obviously he jumps in as her saviour. A lot of the stuff is cute, there’s some murder and mafia/entitled rich people themes. Plot was fun, I was captivated and I didn’t want to put it down. But it wasn’t like anything super special, like no super messed up plot twist. Leighton is really your typical virgin dark romance fmc. But Lazarus is my brand of unhinged, I love him so much. And when I say he's “touch her and you die”, I mean literally. The amount of people he kills for her is insane. Loved this, I give it a 4.5/5
NIGHTMARE GIRL is Book 1 of The Sentinels series and the first book I’ve read by this author — and WOW, it was unlike anything I’ve picked up before 👀✨
We follow Lazarus, the grumpy hitman with a marshmallow center (my fave combo 😌), who keeps having nightmares about Leighton… only to realize she’s real and needs saving. He’s a hitman. She’s a magnet for pervs and a-holes. Naturally, chaos (and murder) ensues.
Between the mafia vibes, the dark humor, and the laugh-out-loud moments, I was hooked. Laz and Leigh’s banter? Top-tier. 😂 Also—ZEKE AND ELAINE!! My scene-stealing faves. I’m counting down the days until their book!
🎧 Audiobook lovers: Stella Hunter & Oliver Highpoint (feat. JF Harding) ate this narration alive. So good. 🔥
Things to know 1st person, single pov, duet narration, Stalking, Violence, murder, touch her and die, he falls first, morally grey mmc, billionaire, revenge, dark secrets, date rape drugs, mass shooting, childhood abuse, breaking and entering
starting was intriguing but as it progressed i started feeling bored because there were moments that pulled me in, but also sections that dragged or felt underdeveloped.
heroine came out dumb and stupid and her reaction to all the dangerous things happening around her was unrealistic. also heroine calling hero caveman was so cringe it's okay if you call him that two-three time but every time girl stfu he had a freaking sexy name 'Lazarus'
hero was fine nothing exciting except his few ott unhinged moments. i did not like that they had sex in front of her ex-boyfriend who was knocked out by hero who did nothing wrong at that time and wanted to warn heroine about something.
It was definitely an interesting book. The reason why it didn’t get a 5star is the fact that we found out who the bad guy was pretty early on. I was waiting for it to be someone else by the end of the book. But nope. It was him.
The audio was great

Main Characters: Lazarus & Leighton
Stand out lines/quotes: It was sappy and so out of character for me. But…f*ck me. I was in love. And he was so worth it.
My Thoughts: Ok, so let me just start by saying that I kinda already knew I was going to like this, I mean, come on, the MMC is a possessive stalker who is also a deleter for hire…hot. And, the way that everything came together in the end, gave me the warm fuzzies, deep down, in my heart.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and it was so different from anything that I have ever read. The love story component was so well intermixed into the thriller that this book most definitely is. The plot twists and turns just as you think you know what is going on… you find another piece of the story. Most definitely kept me on the edge of my seat.
Lazarus is most certainly in the UNHINGED category as far as MMC’s go! He is completely obsessed with Leighton from the very first night he dreams of her. The prophetic dreams that he has and that have been passed down was such an interesting concept that was so well woven into this story!
Leighton as the FMC was the perfect sweet, and sassy energy to balance out Laz. She was fierce and independent, which I loved about her!
Their chemistry was insane, no pun intended. The spicy scenes were perfect, most definitely what you can expect from someone like Laz! Although they weren’t together long, it didn’t feel rushed or too soon for them to be in love with one another, it was nice to see it be more realistic in that way.
This book is most definitely a darker romance, but the banter and side characters most definitely lightened the mood!
Genavie Castle did an amazing job creating a romantic thriller with Nightmare Girl. So, if you’re looking for a dark, age gap, stalker romance, look no further! This one will hook you from the beginning, and you won’t want to put it down.
Thank you so much for the ARC! I really am grateful to have had the opportunity. I can’t wait to read more books by you because this one was right up my alley.
I got to read 'Nightmare Girl' by Genavie Castle as an ARC Read.
Being a fan of dark romance, I was intrigued from the start. This book is undeniably positive, but I recommend reading the trigger warnings before diving in, I loved Lazarus' personality, he's so protective and caring towards Leighton, a somewhat shy psychology student.
Their love story is filled with hope, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. While some taboo subjects are touched upon, they're seamlessly woven into the story without weighing it down. Without giving too much away, I'd say this book is perfect for those who enjoy stalker vibes and the infamous 'touch her and die'. The author beautifully describes the spicy scenes. the plot twist was beautifully executed plot throughout the book, i give a 4.5 stars to this book 💋
Thanks to the author agency and author genavie castle for this Opportunity.
Hello readers, here I am with a new review. Oh Leighton my sweet nightmare girl. I am so fucking in love with you. You will never escape me. The Tropes that can be found in this book :morally Gray mmc, possessive alpha hole, touch her and die, he falls first, stalker romance.... And age gap of 7 years.... Pretty much everything I like is I'm looking in a book... Can a dream change the lives of two people? Lazarus knows this and after a dream he understands that the only thing he wants is to look for her to protect her because otherwise it will be the end of Leighton, brilliant but at the same time sweet. And he will understand that sometimes we can't do it alone but we need someone to lend a hand to us. She and Lazarus seem like two worlds that can in no way collide but without giving any spoilers we will see how starting from their childhoods, the two of them have a lot to share. One thing I loved about this is seeing Him fall in love first and I would say fall very deeply in love... And Leighton? Where to absolutely read it... Why? Because you will read a dark romance with a slow narrative with a dose of spicy to try very hot 🔥🔥🔥 and with a mix of love, thriller and suspense and I would also say a good dose of humor ... I will definitely want to read more by this writer . Rating 4.5
I actually really enjoyed this book. It is categorized as dark romance, and while there are elements of dark romance, I don’t know if I would call it that. Yes, there is stalking, possessiveness, touch her and 💀 vibes, but overall the book is really just an intense love story about two people falling fast and hard.
Lazarus falls for Leighton hard and fast, and although red flags galore ooze off him, you just can’t help loving how much he craves her. What starts as keeping her safe, quickly snowballs into constant looking over your shoulder, someone is out to get us situation after situation. It is amazing how many times these two find themselves in predicaments that could easily turn fatal.
This is the first book of Genavie’s that I have read and I will definitely be reading more of her. Her character building is wonderful. She slowly reveals layers of each character as her story unfolds, but with details that are important to that moment of the story. She doesn’t give details just for the sake of giving details.
With this being a dual POV book, she easily transitioned from hard, ruthless Lazarus to soft, trusting Leighton. Even if she hadn’t entitled chapter of who POV it was, it would be easy to tell. There definitely two distinct voices throughout this whole book. Even the side character’s voices are each different. They each come with their own personalities that are easy to imagine due to the detail she gives each character.
Yes, this book is spicy and has plenty of scenes throughout, but they don’t take away from the overall plot of the book or from each character’s development.
As always review trigger warnings before reading this book.

For all dark romance girlies out there this is a book for you. When Lazarus finds himself having these nightmares/ premonitions about this girl he sets out to find her and save her. Leighton has to have the worst luck when it comes to the people in her like especially the men in her life. Lazarus and Leighton were perfect for each other she really did bring out a softer side of him. Best believe though if you mess with Leighton you will be added to the kill list.
I will say the funniest part of the book is when Lazarus goes to Leightons mother and the mother's husband for Christmas dinner.
Tropes: Morally grey MMC Possessive Alphahole Touch her and die He falls first Stalker romance 7 year age gap
Nightmare Girl is a dark romantic thriller that follows Lazarus and Leighton. This book takes you on a suspenseful ride as Leigh and Laz navigate passion and danger in equal measure.
Lazarus has been awoken night after night by a prophetic dream about Leighton, although he doesn’t yet know who she is. He just knows if he doesn’t find her and protect her, she’s going to die. So he does what any paid assassin would do: finds her and stalks her.
Leighton is finishing her last semester of college and is largely unaware of the danger she’s in. While the two seemingly have nothing in common on the surface, both had traumatic childhoods that left lasting emotional, and in Laz’s case physical, scars.
As Laz protects her from multiple threats, they begin a whirlwind romance that has him falling first and hard. It doesn’t take long for Leigh to catch up with his feelings.
This is a well-paced book with not just spice, but a thrilling plot as well. The suspense is well-written and beautifully woven into the fabric of their love story.
This is a dark romance, so as always, check your trigger warnings before reading.
When I first read the blurb I was confused how it was all going to work. I thought it was going to be a ghost type situation or something but then as I started the book, I couldn’t stop reading it. It was so good and nothing like I expected. This is a new to me author and I will definitely read more books from her. Laz dreams about this girl, his nightmare girl. He tries to find her and help her in the messed up life she doesn’t know she has. The build as characters, and yes he is a red flag but the possessiveness in him is spicy. Oh man. This was such a good read. I highly suggest reading Nightmare Girl if you like dark romances.
Genavie Castle is a new author for me and I'm in love with her already. Nightmare Girl is dark, but also witty, full of twists, and packed full of suspenseful intrigue.
Lazarus is an intriguing man to begin with. A paid hitman for his family business, but that's only part of who he is and what his job entails. He's also plagued with prophetic dreams, or nightmares as he sometimes likes to refer to them, hence the name he gives his most recent dream prophecy; nightmare girl. It's in one of these dreams that he first sees Leighton and becomes irrevocably linked to her.
Leighton has no idea about the danger circling her life or about the man dreaming about her. Whether it's Lazarus coming into her life or the actual danger that comes first could be an argument up for debate, but regardless of the threats that pop up in Leigh's life there is no denying the chemistry and love that ignites between them almost instantly.
Their love story isn't conventional, but it's fast paced with tons of suspense and lots of surprises. It's full of spice and passion and a possessive hero that falls hard for his woman. ❤️

Leigh is Lazarus’ Nightmare girl. She haunts his dreams with her beauty and her death. Over and over again. Can he find her and save her from what his dreams prophesied? This hit man thinks he can. The mystery in this book is so good. The spice is spicing, the MFC is a badass in her own right, and Laz will burn the world to keep her safe (including stalking her). I really recommend this book to anyone who loves a dark suspense romance, but is looking for something just a tad different. Please read those triggers, protect your mental health.
I absolutely loved this story! Leighton and Lazarus were so amazing together and I absolutely devoured this book because of their dynamic. The fact that he kept dreaming about her had me hooked from the beginning. I would one thousand percent recommend this story to anyone who enjoys dark romance or who has been considering trying the genre. Thank you to The Author Agency for the ARC of this book.

This one had a lot going for it at first. The premise was interesting, there was plenty of MMC POV, the paranormal element with Lazarus's prophetic dreams caught my attention, and I was actually having fun with some of the completely unhinged stalker behavior.
Unfortunately, once Lazarus and Leighton finally met, I realized this wasn't going to be my kind of dark romance.
First, if I had turned the phrase "nightmare girl" into a drinking game, I wouldn't have survived long enough to DNF the book. I understand that it's the title. I understand that he doesn't initially know her name. But good grief. Were we trying to hit a word quota?
My second issue is something that almost always bothers me in romance. I don't mind an MMC immediately noticing that the FMC is beautiful. I don't even mind instant physical attraction. What I don't enjoy is when his first observations immediately become sexual. Her ass, her boobs, imagining sexual positions, what he wants to do to her, etc. There's a difference between "she's beautiful and I'm attracted to her" and immediately viewing her as a sexual opportunity, and Lazarus leaned too heavily toward the latter for me.
Then there was THE VIBRATOR INCIDENT.
Look, I knowingly picked up a stalker romance. Him breaking into her apartment, snooping through her belongings, following her around, researching her and being generally unhinged? I knew what genre I was reading.
But this man found her vibrator, LICKED IT, got jealous of it, stole it and threw it away because he decided she wasn't going to use it anymore.
Sir.
No.
Straight to jail. 🤢
And then came the first meeting, which was ultimately the final nail in the coffin.
After spending multiple chapters building up Lazarus finally meeting this woman he'd been dreaming about, I expected tension, intrigue, banter, or even just an actual conversation. Instead, he went from introducing himself to aggressively talking about having sex with her almost immediately. He crowded her personal space even after she asked him to back up, and the whole interaction hit too many of my icks at once.
Ironically, the stalking itself wasn't my problem. Again, I picked up a stalker romance. Some of Lazarus's stalking was actually entertaining in the completely ridiculous way dark romance can be entertaining. It was the sexual objectification, the vibrator incident, and then the romantic/sexual dynamic once they finally met that lost me.
As for the audiobook, Stella Hunter was great as Leighton. Oliver Highpoint wasn't terrible as Lazarus, especially once I sped him up, but his very deep, slow delivery made a thirty-year-old character sound considerably older to me.
And then I discovered J.F. Harding was voicing the brother.
JF HARDING WAS RIGHT THERE. 😭
Why couldn't he have been Lazarus?!
There were pieces here I genuinely enjoyed, and I can see this working for someone who likes a much more immediately sexual and boundary-pushing stalker-romance dynamic. It just wasn't the flavor of dark romance I wanted.
Tropes: • Dual POV • Steamy Dark Romance • Revenge Theme/Dark Secrets • St@lker Romance • Posessive Alphahole • Emotional Damange • Age Gap • Touch Her and 💀 • He falls first • Morally Grey Rich MMC
First, can we talk about that cover?! So gorgeous!
If morally grey is your favourite colour look no further for your next favourite read! Nightmare Girl is a deliciously dark romance with an MMC who would do anything for his girl. It was a bit of a slow start but keep with it because everything comes together in the end.
Lazarus is a complicated man. Haunted by the prophetic dreams he has had all his life; he decides he can take no more and makes it his mission to find the mysterious woman who has captivated his sleeping thoughts. I enjoyed the relationship Lazarus has with his brother Zeke and thought it was an interesting take that Laz’s role as their family company’s “clean up” guy was normalized within their family unit. I laughed out loud when Leighton asked him what he did for a living, and he straight up told her! 😆
Leighton has been through a lot. Always the beauty, she continually attracts the attention of the wrong men and by the time we meet her she has encountered a st@lker, a creepy stepfather and an ex-boyfriend who cheated on her. When she meets Lazarus she is ready for her knight in shining armour — even if that armour is very, very blackened.
When the two finally connect face to face the chemistry is evident, as is the heat 🥵. However, I will say that this is on the tamer side of dark romance. There are explicit sex scenes, but nothing too wild.
Overall a fast-paced read with lots of twists and turns that dark romance lovers will enjoy!
Thank you to Genavie Castle and The Author Agency for an early copy. These are my honest thoughts.
So, so good! Every girl needs a stalker who has prophetic dreams about her death, will do literally anything to save her, has a list of people he’s killing for her, and is in so deep he’s got a ring and a wedding planned in his head by the end of the first week they’ve officially known each other! Lazarus has always had prophetic dreams, a family trait he inherited from his mother’s side, and over the years he’s learned to adjust and tried to do what he can with them. But his latest dream has him crazy. Every night, the same woman and her death. His nightmare girl. Somehow, he knows that she is his. His to protect, his to love and he has to do whatever it takes to find her. Leighton is focused, her degree is her priority, she doesn’t need parties, the guys, the exciting life. She needs safety, routine, and security. But the second he comes into her life everything tilts on its axis. They can’t stay away from each other, it’s like a force that can’t be denied, but if they don’t face their demons, they could lose everything, including their lives. Lazarus is a sexy, morally grey, fiercely protective, and completely consuming MMC. I loved him! There is no line he won’t cross to save Leighton and it’s hot. The connection they have is electric, and deep and it just fits with the whole prophetic dream thing so well. Leighton is definitely the light to his dark and it’s perfect how they meet in the middle, him killing a few less people and her accepting him for all his flaws and darkness with no question. The plot is great, with deep betrayal’s and a race to figure out who the threat really is, it’s definitely a bingeable book and for all the readers who love those guys with a touch her and die vibe and crazy sex appeal I’d say run and grab this one!
Nightmare girl is a dark romance with wit and a perfect pop of paranormal twist.
Lazarus has prophetic dreams, or nightmares, of a dead girl he's undeniably pulled to. Death is no stranger to Lazarus though, it's his job, The obsession he feels towards this woman though is new and he'll do anything to find her and keep her safe, even when he doesn't know what he has to keep her safe from.
Leighton is proud of what she's doing to not rely on anyone especially her mother's creepy new husband. She's almost to graduation and ready to pursue a career in Psychology. If she can survive partying with her friend and neighbor Hallie and convince her ex Keith that she's not going back to him.
That last part becomes a lot easier when Lazarus finds his Nightmare Girl, in more danger than he could've known. Between stalkers, jealous friends, date rape drugs and an enemy closer to home than he can prove, Lazarus decides he has to tell Leighton the truth if he wants to keep her with him forever even if the 'truth' is what send her running.
This book is full of spice and it just breeches the edge of kinky in a few spots so I would rate it 3 of 5 on spice. The public scene is the most non-vanilla sex involved but it is frequent and definitely part of the story and a factor in Leightons deep connection to Lazarus.
This has all the billionaire bad boy, morally grey, THAD vibes that you want. Great for people that wanted 50 shades with less bad kink and more actual darkness. I loved this HEA romance and the little twist of adding the paranormal aspects to Lazarus' family side made it so fun and something I won't forget anytime soon.
I had the opportunity to read this in advance of release (even though i'm running behind) and am sharing my honest opinion thereof.
“Do you know how utterly ridiculous that is? Five men would never share one woman, princess or not.”
"Oh, Leighton, my sweet nightmare girl. I am so fucking in love with you. You will never escape me."
“Everything I am, everything I have is yours. All of it. The shirt off my back. Every penny to my name. The blood in my veins. My heart. My soul. All of it belongs to you. I love you, Leighton.”

Lazarus was absolutely UNHINGED, and I loved every minute of it. He was obsessed with her from the moment he saw her in his nightmares. He was such a playboy but once he found his girl it was over. Leighton was so smart and sweet. She tried so hard to stay strong and take care of herself but she just needed a little help from her man. Everyone needs a little help from a caveman sometimes. The plot was intense and kept me wondering what was going on. The spice was *woah buddy* so spicy. The banter was hilarious. When he found her spicy books, I couldn't stop laughing. Then the egg roll. I can't handle the humor in this book. The brothers made it so much fun. I almost forgot it was a dark thriller type of a book lol. This book was absolutely wild and I loved all of it.

When hitman Lazerus has a prophetic dream about a woman being murdered, it plagues him, to the point he sets out in search of the mystery woman to save her. What starts as a nightmare soon becomes an obsession, and he begins to stalk her in the shadows, protect her from evil, and fall head over heels in love with her. Leighton is the girl of Lazarus' nightmares, but as he begins to shadow her, it becomes apparent that murder is not the only thing she needs protection from. She has a stalker (other than the MMC), is drugged on a night out, has a pervy stepfather, and much more. Putting Lazarus' skills as a hitman to good use, even more so when it seems someone is after not just his girl but him as well, He doesn't stalk from the shadows for too long. Once they officially meet, they are soon inseparable and make for a really good couple. Despite his overprotectiveness, touch her and I will unalive you vibes; he is incredibly sweet and caring towards Leigh. He's also extremely passionate, and they have a lot of spicy times! Laz is very honest and open about what his job entails, and Leighton is seemingly ok with it. However, there are moments when people turn up dead and you are left wondering if Lazarus did it or not. Especially when it's people Leighton cares about. The twists and turns were brilliant and kept you guessing. I had a feeling who was after them both from early on, but then I thought I was wrong, then I wasn't sure again, and so on. It was a great read, full of drama and danger, along with some fun and witty moments.

She is his to protect, but he needs to find her first, and when he does, he'll never let her go. Leighton's best friend chides her about her mundane life of school and work. She doesn't care. She enjoys her life of monotony. It may not be exciting, but it’s safe and secure until he shows up. With one look, he’s turned her world on its axis. His intense protectiveness swallows Leighton whole, and she can’t escape him. A force they can’t explain pulls them close, but perilous secrets threaten them both. As their relationship grows, so does the danger. Lazarus’ nightmares might be coming true. Leighton learns the truth about the man she’s falling for. And if they don’t face their demons, they will lose their chance at happiness.
This was an entertaining introduction to this author's creative abilities. I was really confused in the beginning, but once that cleared up, I found myself easily addicted to how the story would unfold. There were just enough secrets and mystery to keep me turning pages until late into the night. Ultimately, it was weaved into a unique perspective that I am happy to have experienced. I look forward to more of this author's work. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
My first Genavie Castle book and I LOVED it! I will be definitely reading more from Genavie!
I had a hard time catching onto the story in the begging, but that’s most likely a me thing, but as it went on I was all in! Genavie has a way of slowly revealing layers of each character as the story goes on, but the details given are important at that moment. I’ve noticed that the details are given at a certain point for a reason.
This book is dual POV and transitions beautifully between Lazarus and Leighton. There is stalking, possessiveness, touch her and 💀 vibes, but the love between these two is intense and I couldn’t get enough!
Lazarus falls hard and fast for Leighton despite the loads of red flags coming off that man 😅. But there is something about the way her craves her that makes you love him. And the way Leighton calls him Caveman 🖤😆. I love the way they interact with each other. My heart hurt reading about them and their past and what they’ve gone through. They are made for each other 🖤
Yes, there is spice but that doesn’t take away from the point of the story. The spice is perfect 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Read this book! You won’t regret it!
“It smells like you. The man who was a complete gentleman and a good friend when I needed one the most. It reminds me that despite my hellish week, good men do exist. It makes me feel safe.”
